This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

Woah, so you all have giant robots!? I wish Gensokyo was like that. The last giant robot I saw turned out to be just a big steam powered advertisement puppet the kappa made. There was also that incident recently with the robots but Lady Suwako said they were too troublesome for me to keep one.
Also no it's not Nitori, it's Sanae. She's a human wind priestess from the outside world brought to Gensokyo alongside the shrine she serves in. She's known to be a mecha fangirl.

One of my friends is a witch but they're not the only ones who practice magic here!
Yup! She's a bit weird sometimes and I think she's blown up her house a few times but she's reliable. Well unless you have a magic book she wants... Like those in the vampire mansion. She likes to "borrow" them then never return them.

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
Such an odd concept. The sun and moon revolve around Teyvat, and the stars in the night sky are always fixed. Quite frankly, the notion that it's the other way around sounds absurd in its own right, just like the idea that a world without gods cannot exist because they are commonplace.
The only worlds that are confirmed to exist beyond Teyvat are the Abyss and the Elemental Vishap Realm, but beyond that, the idea that worlds inhabit the stars of the night sky sounds like something I read in novels.

This "Gensokyo" you speak of doesn't sound familiar. Is it in this "Japan" place you mentioned?
[1]
That must be Marisa, I think Sakuya told me a bit about her... Also, for comparison, the constructor mech is 7.2 meters tall, and the explorer mech (which isn't in my avatar, but which I prefer over the constructor) is 1.8 meters tall, so neither can really be considered "giant". There is one experimental mech that I'm working on, which will probably be ~8m tall once it's done, but even there, I'm trying not to be a megalomaniac. As for the robot incident, that was partially my responsibility for providing Nitori with the means of mass production... sorry about that, again.

As long as "witch" doesn't have a mathematically rigorous definition, I guess any archetype (stereotype?) can apply to the term?

Alright, once I'm done with my current job, I'm coming over and launching a camera into orbit. In the meantime, enjoy this

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.1
I haven't met any evil witches personally. Though Reimu mentioned one that became a vengeful spirit that used to harass the shrine but she hasn't shown up in a while.
2
Yup! Well, kind of. It's in Japan but the Hakurei Barrier means it's also in its own pocket space. Air, water and stuff can go in and out fine but any people trying to would just walk through the space Gensokyo's on or keep walking without making progress towards the outside. I heard some youkai like to dare each other to see how long they can keep running towards the "edge" before they get tired.
3
That's still pretty tall! My dream mech would be one tall enough it can go toe to toe with giant monsters like in my shows!
That explanation of the Hakurei barrier doesn't quite make sense to me... how does the barrier distinguish between "stuff" and sentient beings?
Edit: Would I theoretically be able to do the following:
- Make a rover, place it inside Gensokyo and point it outward
- Download myself into it and start driving to the edge
- Once I get close, I shut off my own simulation for fifteen minutes and let the rover drive on as much analogue guidance as possible
- Be on the other side of the barrier once my simulation runs again?

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. I'm not really sure! Though I do know two out of three of the Gensokyo Sages both have pretty powerful space warping abilities so if anyone could pull something like that it would be them. Nobody but them knows who their third member is though but maybe her power had something to do with it too.
Edit: ![]()
I don't think so. People have tried throwing stuff outside and it didn't work like that. Some even think the barrier itself is alive!
Sanae's not an expert on it so her statements aren't entirely accurate. The only experts would be Yukari, Kasen and Okina.

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."
What an interesting picture. The gray place is almost like the moon, and the black void without stars looks so eerie. And what is that blue and white sphere? That hasn't appeared in the skies of Teyvat.
[2]
I see. So the way you described Gensokyo is like the Domains found across Teyvat. These are mysterious pocket dimensions completely detached from the rest of the world, but they can be accessed by special entrances. The Fatui has a few secret bases in them.

Here's the best part: The gray landscape is in fact the moon, and the blue and white sphere is Earth. The picture was taken in my homeworld, on one of mankind's earliest spaceflight missions where we sent some people to the moon. If I understand it correctly, the reason you don't see any stars in the sky is because the camera's exposure time was too short to capture the weak light of the stars.
Mind you, depending on how your homeworld is built, your Earth might actually be vastly different.

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.CAC: Why can a world "without gods" not exist? There must be at least one version of Earth where atheism is right, as are versions of Earth where (insert religion here) is right.
"Oh, did I win?"Let's think about the stereotypical monotheistic religion and their usual kind of God that they worship. This God is usually said to have created EVERYTHING. So if there is a world where God exists, then that means in every world God exists since that God created everything, including all those other worlds. But religions' portrayal of God are usually different which would cause multiple God to exist, each of them having created everything but who created who?
Since the Knight is considered a god of darkness, I think they'd talk about gods a lot each time the topic appears.
