This is a thread where, as the title implies, our avatars (from our galleries) are posting in an in-universe forum thread. You can drop in any time with pretty much any character you want, whether from existing works or your own OCs. Though most of it is done through forum posts, some "in-person" interactions between characters is also fine.
Even if this is a more casual RP, there are still some rules and general RP etiquette to keep in mind for everyone to have a good time and feel comfortable:
- NO GODMODDING. Godmodding is when you decide what happens to another player's character, and is generally frowned upon. In particular, avoid injuring and especially killing someone else's character; fighting is ok but let the other player decide if the hit connects. If your plot idea requires something to happen to a different player's character, you'll want to privately discuss this with them and if they're ok with that. This includes in-universe moderation.
- Be nice and respect other players' boundaries. Your character being mean or a jerk is one thing, but if someone gets uncomfortable about your behavior towards their characters, knock it off. Also do not force others into your story arcs; in general it would be a good idea to ask the other person first if they are interested, and plan it together if they are.
- If you have anything to say, ask about, ect. that is not part of the RP, you can put it under a spoiler tag [[spoiler: like this]]
- While almost any character is welcome, please avoid playing any real-life person who's mainly associated with controversies, drama and problematic behavior. We don't need that here.
- Have fun!
Ahh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them). the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons haven driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to temp your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic.
And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
In other words, this is a thread on an imaginary forum our avatars frequent. The topic can fluctuate, and its mostly just general discussion.

x4 Absolutely agreed, a fair fight is so much better than despair, despair is just plain awful. And boring, once you get used to it. With a fight, you at least have something to focus on.
I know roughly how Gensokyo works - I still don't believe it would fit into the real world, because the simple act of someone crossing the Hakurei Border would break conservation of energy. Maybe Gensokyo could be a different universe entirely? Even then, canonically the Youkai and their magical powers have existed before Gensokyo. The whole scenario could work if the universe in question had vastly different physics than "our" universe, which is also why Icarus can't enter it - the matter that he's made of simply isn't compatible.
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.Despair IS boring! A month of no light sounds like what my big sis tried to do with the scarlet mist though.

Well it's mostly like our world aside from the occasional physics breaking magic. Gensokyo itself is "anchored" to a real world location but people will just pass through where it would be unless they enter through specific means. Go with whatever interpretation you feel like though, the setting does run on belief shaping things.

If there's a phenomenon that physics fails to predict, then you can't just treat it in isolation. It means that physics is either faulty in its entirety or incomplete.
On my way, just need some extra time to modify an underwater probe for human control!
Edit: Tell me if I'm being too nerdy here, I might get carried away further.

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.I don't like swimming outdoors. Running water makes me feel all uncomfortable! I prefer the pool we have inside. Also there's no sunlight indoors!
EDIT:
Aye, though I mostly meant it's normal physics up to that point :P. There seems to be some other natural law that belief can distort the rest of them. Anyway I don't mind it so far.

x3 Rp?
It's kinda late for me, so a no won't hurt me that much.

x3 What's the matter, scared?

Woop! Woop! New identity crystal refinement method just dropped! It ain't perfect, but it might eventually help me understand the multiverse better.
Basically, you grind an identity crystal up as fine as you can, put it into a bath in two universes of your choice, and then set up some turbines so that one bath has a strong stream in the exact opposite direction as the bath in the other universe. As a result, you get two different i-crystal solutions which don't share two specific identities.
An identity crystal is basically a type of crystal that exists in multiple universes simultaneously. Now that I type it out, there could be other such objects which aren't necessarily crystals... And now that I type that out, inter-universal titanium alloy for extra structural stability? Hmm...

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong. It's not your average bath - the term "bath" in this case encompasses some other utilities, too, like an electrolysis chamber, or the crystal filtering bath that I've just described. Later, I probably want to re-crystallize the solutions back into i-crystals, which will then (hopefully) have some different properties than the crystal that I've originally dissolved.
...am I being too technical for this forum?
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

3rd day of vacation. Ive managed to accidently kill a body via ethanol poisoning with red bean wine I was gifted by a winged person. I very much should've considered augmented liver as well I've added it to my newest body now. How have things been while I was on vacation?
