Are you handicapped? If you are, that's your deal. Let people pity you while I do something productive. If not, then you aren't really in a position to be giving advice at all.

My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son.I'm not interested in being pitied for my disability either.
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Ok, this has gotten WAY off topic. How about we play the "Rerail Game"? How you play is you actually discuss the topic. The winner is whoever goes the longest without completely derailing the topic. I'll start.
From my understanding (as someone whose eyesight, while bad, is still not bad enough to be considered "blind") is that blind peoples' dreams have more emphasis on their working senses. Since they usually "see" through their sense of touch, there'll be an increased amount of feeling over sight.
Ok, my post may've just said something fairly obvious, but it's just the first one in the newly rerailed thread.

Sort of, moderate dyspraxia. But it's not something noticeable that I receive pity for anyway, so big deal. I wasn't suggesting that it should stop you from living your life, but I think it's sort of obnoxious to be so hostile to general concern and pity.

Requiem ~ September 2010 - October 2011 [Banned 4 Life]Well the actual question seems pretty straightforward to me.
Dreams are a random mixture of stuff that's on your mind and your past experiences. Therefore, it stands to reason that your dreams seem much like you experience real life. Of course you don't actually sense anything in a dream since it's all in your head anyway.
So with that out of the way, we can rederail to much more interesting topics.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI think snail's got it. Sympathize triggers far far less alarms than pity. The way I see it, pity involves looking on somebody as lesser.
You pity a blind street musician.
You sympathyze with a blind house salesman.
See the difference? It's small but tangible.
I think a lot of handicapped people feel the same way I do, but most of them aren't as much of a Jerkass as I am - at least, not openly anyway.

Sorry, but I think this attitude is just damaging and mostly self-defeating. Pity is not a bad thing. Handicapped people do deserve pity, in respect of their disadvantages - glorifying a disability is no way to go, except when it is also a special talent. Otherwise I think it's just denial to outright reject all pity and help where it is due.
