I actually really like the new look. Now I can't wait for the new series to start airing.
I read of Wikipedia that Larry Kenney is doing the voice of Lion-O's father, but it says he's also Tygra's father. So, I guess they're brothers now? I don't really mind. The changes could be a good thing. I'd rather have Lion-O as an older teenager than a kid in an adult's body.
I like the new design of Lion-O. Makes more sense for his cryogenic accident to make him an older teen rather than an adult and the armor fits.
I dislike Cheetarah's new outfit, too unnecessarily skimpy. Ahd I dislike Panthro's new design. It's the sideburns, the lack of hair on his head makes him look old and the larger body size jut screams "We're going to emphasize less on his technical genius and martial arts skills and make him a straight up Big guy."
The Blog The ArtI gotta admit, those character designs are a lot better than I expected...
Here's my wishes for the new cartoon:
1) They don't leave out Snarf, Wilykat and Wilykit.
2) They do have more episodes with the Berserkers (I really liked those guys)
3) They have the Lunataks actually not suck. In particular Alluro was actually a compelling villain sometimes.
4) They don't go all Darker and Edgier on us.
5) Either have it be serialized from the get-go (like most anime) or else stick to telling one-off stories that happen to reference each other from time to time (like the original cartoon).

visit my blog! The source I saw said that Snarf is in, and looks about the same as his old-school incarnation. Same with Wilykit and Wilykat.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.I found this quote:
@ Tricksterton: You're kidding, right? Yes it is! Especially since before she wore a jumpsuit, and that was okay.
This I can understand for the time period
◊ and if I were rebooting the series I would porbably go with somethign similar but with more armour.
What we're getting now is needlessly titillating and actually covers less.
The Blog The ArtI mean, on one hand the pilot episode of the original cartoon had them running around nude, and they were given their clothing explicitly to help them survive the "harsh climate" of Third Earth... and then he gives them bathing suits.
On the other hand, you could say "well, if they dressed kind of stupidly in the original, then this should be no problem."
EDIT: Also, in the image post #10 linked to she doesn't look that skimpy.
One question I have is: Is the new show even going to keep the original premise (IE refugees from Thundera, land on Third Earth, fight mutants and Mumm-Ra)? Cuz every time a "new Thundercats" rumor and info has turned up, there's always been some wild change. Last time I heard it was going to have a Mineral MacGuffin plot. Before that, they were going to be a rock band...

visit my blog!Wow... I was just watching old episodes of this and Ghostbusters last week. Thundercats and Silverhawks were pretty much my (early) childhood. I heard about a reboot but was skeptical.
I think they're mostly trying emphasize that he's oooooooold. Well, ok, not that old, but there's definitely a "this guy's older than everyone else" vibe in his design. Other than the hair, I don't really mind it. ...Well, the larger body size does irk me a bit.
The rest of the designs look fine to me (although I'm kind of doubting that Cheetarah's new outfit will remain like that for airing). I'm hoping the twins show up and we should expect Snarf; he's more or less one of the few things people remember about this show.
They also better have a good theme song, even though I don't think my involuntary Nostalgia Filter is going like it over the original song:

Cheetara's outfit is no skimpier than Panthro's.
Oh, and does anyone else think Panthro kinda looks like Jett from Cowboy Bebop?

New designs
So far, I like it. Lion-O does look a bit young and no Mumm-Ra so far.
