White House denies cutting Egypt aid
More accurately
, Washington is considering cutting aid to Egypt's regime. Granted, it's only "most military aid", but that's still significant.

Cutting military aid to Egypt probably wouldn't destabilize the region further, the Egyptian generals are rational if nothing else. They won't go to war with Israel while they are still putting down unrest. And they aren't stupid enough to start a fight they would lose.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Yeah, they need the troops for internal suppression, if they pull troops from fighting the Muslim brotherhood to fighting Israel than they are gonna be screwed on two fronts.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiIs it fine to discuss stuff going on in Turkey with the protests? My old man's seriously getting visas ready (since he's a Philippine national) and I'm a dual (not naming the other country), but I've got no travel warnings that say to keep the heck away from Turkey aside from the southern border problems and the city protests.
We have a thread for protests/riots in Turkey, so I'd say that's the place to go. [1]
Wait, the US actually went through with the withdrawal of financial aid?

Breaking: The US is cutting aid to Egypt.
Edit: I can only find it as a breaking news banner on my CNN app, so here is what it is saying.
