Relevance Might Not Be Obvious: All Animation Is Disney

As good a job Anastasia would do at illustrating the trope, there's not anything in the picture that suggests it's not made by Disney. I tried to find a poster that bore the 20th Century Fox logo, but the only one I found doesn't bear as many Disneyesque elements. Is it necessary to change the current image?

Another replacement I thought of would be this poster for The Swan Princess, which looks like an ad for a Disney fairy tale unless you notice the top mentions Turner.

The Swan Princess one is very good.

The Swan Princess has the gratuitous animal sidekicks too. Nice.

Swan Princess is good, but too bad the existing Anastasia picture won't do. I thought I was looking at Belle when the page loaded.

Here's one with a logo but it's hard to see. I support the Swan Princess.

The Swan Princess one is pretty good, but here's another take on Anastasia just for argument's sake:

And here's Thumbelina [1]. This one is about as much of a rip-off of Disney formula as you can get—it even uses Ariel's voice actress!

I don't think that the second Anastasia works very well. The general layout is just enough off and the art style is visually sufficiently not-Disney to make it look not-Disney. The Thumbelina is ok. I still like the Swan Princess one the best.

Ok, here's some more:

The Thumbelina picture seems almost as good as the Swan Princess one. Regarding the pictures in Madrugada's post, the only one I easily found the logo in was for The Road to El Dorado.

Could we start a crowner?

Should I go ahead and add the Swan Princess picture?

There's no consensus on it yet.

I'd say that whether the logo is prominent or not shouldn't be the deciding factor the trope covers examples where it isn't as much as it cover those where it is. And the caption can simply read "NOT Disney. [whoever it really is]."

Anyway, the crowner is hooked.

I like "Anastasia on a staircse"; it looks so much like a Disney cover, that can't be an accident.

The main problem I have with all of them is that there is no clear non-Disney logo on it, and therefore it relies on the caption to say that it isn't Disney, same as the old image.

I'd like something like this, that has a big fat 20TH CENTURY FOX on the top.

That's the exact same problem I have with all these images, except for Thumbelina and The Swan Princess. In fact, the current caption doesn't even say that Anastasia isn't Disney.

By the way, the cover for the second Swan Princess movie bears several of the same Disneyesque elements as the first film's cover, but also features the WB shield and Bugs Bunny above the title. I think I'll add that to the nominations.

What about Quest For Camelot? Complete with all three goofy animal sidekicks and the Bugs/WB logo on top: [1] (Somebody remember for me — does it have its own musical number?)

[up] That could work.

And yes, it has musical numbers. Way too many.

The film is a blatant Disney knockoff, so it's perfect for this.

Quest for Camelot has a trillion terrible songs in it.

Anyone object to painting out or cropping off the top WB logo / Special Edition banner on the Quest For Camelot image, so there aren't two right next to each other?

I dunno, I think the two WB banners help emphasize that it's not Disney.

Agreed. WB felt the need to put two logos on the same packaging. Probably to underline that it's not Disney.

Earlier today, was thinking of captions along the lines of "Goofy animal sidekick? Check. Musical numbers? Check. Hey, where'd that bunny come from?"

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.
