Sarah meanwhile waited for Felix to come back from speaking with the dragon Lusaikth. Once again she trusted him to take care of the situation for now... going into the water he seemed a lot more secure than when they were lying about their origins.

"Change that?" said Kyle not understanding Lusaikth's words.

Seeing the fish at the corner of his eye, his attention quickly turned back to dinner. "So...considering I'm a red dragon, I can use my breath to start a fire to cook that fish. You want me to do that?"

Felix sunk in the water until only his head was visible among the resultant waves, "you're coming with us? Don't you, like, have a hoard or lair or something? I wouldn't want you to abandon it."

The black dragon was a lot more comfortable in the waves of the ocean, and was more comfortable with talking to Lusaikth in the water, he wasn't sure why this was. Felix usually wasn't much for swimming, he supposed it was the fact that he was a black dragon. He felt the same way about this entire ordeal when he was in the lake behind his house a few days back.

"Cedi what are you-" it was too late, before Ash could even properly reprimand the blue demon he had transformed. Ash swore his jaw hit the floor. He quickly regained his posture.

"Ah, er, very good, Cedi, well done," He said, forming a sentence, "but that was really reckless of you. A botched transformation spell usually means horrific things, so congrats on getting it right on the first try. Beginner's Luck, I guess."

He turned to Natasha, "Now, apprentice, your turn. If Cedi over there can get it right on his first cast, that means obviously you should get it right as well."

The moment Cedi heard that 'Ah', he quickly turned his feathery tail around, looking up towards the now-towering sorcerer with his wings held out in shock, and expected a well-derserved scolding... but he was pleasantly surprised by Ash's compliment.

"Th-thank you..." he said telepathically, half-forgetting how he didn't expect to be capable of such in bird form. He bowed down towards Ash, out of a bit of respect and a bit of guilt. "I-I apologize for my rash actions- which I took despite knowing how risky it was- and I promise to properly practice any other spells I may learn," he sincerely apologized. "But thank you so much for teaching me this spell! I can't wait to fly!" he cheered, flapping his new wings in excitement.

"... actually, does my telepathy still work?" Cedi had asked after a bit of thought. In his perspective, it was impossible for him to tell whether or not he was properly using his telepathy without input from his supposed listeners. Even if he was the only one who would know, he thought it would be quite awkward if he was 'saying' everything to himself and only himself.

With not much else to do, Chris simply decided to try sleeping for the night. It's not like the was much of anything around here that would have the gall to try attacking a group of 6 dragons, right?

You know, it was kind of irritating to have one's question go unanswered. Natasha in particular was feeling quite frustrated at how her supposedly innocuous question of where Seabluff was go unanswered. The girl bit her tongue, thinking that if she tried being insistent about it that Ash and the others would get suspicious. Oh well, if Ash wouldn't answer she'd just find it on her own. Now, Natasha would have done the same as Cedi, but she decided that if she was going to ru- er, fly off the first chance she got, she'd better make sure she knew how to transform back. "I'd feel better if you taught us how to reverse the transformation before trying the spell myself."

"Go ahead, though it's not much more than a snack," Lusaikth responded to Kyle with a dismissive flick of her tail. She'll eat tomorrow. Still looking out to the horizon, she addressed Felix then. "I have nothing but this land, I sleep under an open sky. Nothing I cannot return to."

"Yes, Cedi, I can hear you," Ash responded, deadpan. He then moved to Natasha.

"Maintaining a transformation is similar to how the kids have to maintain their human forms. You only need to focus on your natural form for it to take hold. Try not fall prey to massive swings of emotion, or else your return to normal prematurely," Ash explained to Natasha.

"This is, of course, a different matter if I were to say force you into a different form, then I'd have to focus on returning YOU back to normal. At least, with this kind of spell. There are lots of... add-ons you can apply for different effects, but more or less the green ray is your basic transmutations," he continued.

"So, with that said, your turn, Apprentice."

Felix gave Lusaikth a concerned look.

"You live out here alone with nothing?" There was something off about his delivery of this question though. Normally Felix would ask such a question with genuine concern and curiousity. But something else crept into it. Condescension. Skepticism. Maybe even some pride. A feeling of superiority. A ghost of a toothy smile flashed across his face. This half-breed lived out alone without a hoard or liar to her name, where Felix, a "pure-bred," once shared a lair with Bahamut himself, and carried with him some of his hoard.

Draconic pride was starting to overcome our hero.

He caught this near immediately though, that smile turned into a frown, and he stared vacantly into space.

"That... came out wrong..."

Tia was running out of patience. This store was neat, but nothing in it truly interested her. She had thumbed through the books, glanced through the knick-knacks, tested a few weapons, browsed through the clothing, inspected the valuables, and glared impatiently at her fellow men. They were supposed to be fighting the great Bahamut right now, and instead they were shopping.

"Okay," she finally spoke up, causing Mike and "Mr. Canary" to glance at her.

"Men, I believe we've wasted enough time. Mr. Canary, if you wouldn't mind showing us the way out back?"

Mr. Canary nodded, "Just take the elevator down, dears. Punch the lower floor, try not to vomit, and the cave will present itself."

Tia nodded and gathered up her men to leave. B waited until the sound of the elevator descending greeted his ears before addressing the Edwards and Michael first with a relieved sigh.

"Whew. Jodie, you never cease to amaze with your 'dumb blonde' act. Michael, you played along well. I assume you're here to check on the status of your children?"

Mike looked to the Edwards, who had far more authority in this situation than Mike did.

With the dragon slayers out of hearing distance, Jodie turned straight towards her husband. "Tim, I'm going to unbind my weapons now and I need you to hold on to them so I don't do something stupid in anger."

Tim simply noded to his wife's requests. Suddenly a glow appeared, making a war hammer appear in one of Jodie's hands and a holstered handgun on her hips. Tim took the weapons away from Jodie before the conversation continued.

Turning back towards the platinum dragon with an intense stare, Jodie said "B. That action alone should give you a good idea of how angry I am right now. Not only have you just turned one of my sons into a creature that is being hunted to extinction but you also brought the very hunters to this store! Now for the sake of my sanity, you better tell me what happened to Kyle!"

Natasha frowned in thought. Maybe I can get Ash to let me look at a map or something before we leave. As antsy as she was to find Felix, she knew that if she didn't think things through it'd only take longer before she could find them. The first thing is to cast the clothes binding spell, so she wouldn't end up naked when she transformed back. Once she had done that, she started working out which bird to transform into. Crap. I wish I had internet access right now.

Natasha probably spent longer than she should have trying to determine which bird to transform into, before finally giving up. Why am I even trying so hard to think of this?... I'll just turn into a falcon like Cedi for now. Her course of action determined, Natasha spent a moment to thoroughly envision her new appearance before aiming her wand at her chest and casting the transformation spell.

The effect was basically instantaneous. Where Natasha once stood perched a falcon, much like the one Cedi had transformed into. Apparently the transformation went off without a hitch. Turning its head slightly to the left, the falcon's gaze focused on Ash with an expectant look.

Cedi had attempted to grin once Ash told him his telepathy worked even in falcon form, although his new beak wasn't quite capable of that. Somehow, the idea of being a 'talking' falcon had delighted his mind, making him curious as to how common such might be in Arcadia... however, he was still set on his purpose for coming along in the first place, to travel to Camelot. After Ash told Natasha and him how to return to their normal forms, the curious bird turned to his side to see the sorcerer's apprentice transform, flutterring away a few steps...

Hey, I think she's improving... he admit to himself, with a hint of relief- he had half-expected the spell to somehow involve an explosion, after all of the bangs he had witnessed by her wand previously. Nodding his feathery head to Natasha, he turned back to Ash, patiently waiting for whatever he would teach them next...

"Yes, yes it did." Lusaikth did not move her gaze. Not even dragon born and they were so taken with the concepts she had learned to dislike. It was like a coin with two tails; failure whichever way you flipped it. Maybe if she traveled with them, she could dissuade them of these natural inclinations, for the better. She had a feeling this was going to be a long, long trip. "I have a feeling that even if you don't need me, eventually my presence would be welcome. Maybe, hopefully, we have more in common than these initial impressions provide..." or this will get tiring very quickly.

Magnus had spent the elevator ride and wait in the store in silence. This whole setup was... unreal. Wait, he'd been through this line of thinking a little while back. Of course he agreed with himself, he didn't have to parrot the thought back and forth between his own two ears. Make it productive.

Dragon they were dead sure they had cornered wasn't there, this guy was. What they were very nearly positive to be the dragon's lair was an unadorned cave, that led to this shop.

The latter, to him, was more easily explained than the former. The cave could have been a rest stop, and this man a draconic sympathizer. Such people existed he knew but he still wasn't sure why or how. If the cave was a rest stop, one common enough to meet other dragons at, it would need to be monitored so they could have a second chance. Perhaps this failure was a blessing in disguise; if the met Bahamut there they would have simply maimed him and not come to such a realization. This way perhaps they could kill other dragons the Platinum was supposed to meet with, after they kill the big one himself.

The question still remained, however... where did the Platinum go? These thoughts had occupied Magnus's mind as he looked for another weapon, one with reach. He found a decent halberd and left proper payment in it's place on the rack, seeing as how the store owner was busy with other customers. He paid little attention at all to their exchange.

They were descending rapidly, now. He would give the cave more scrutiny on the way out, then bring up his musings with Tia when they were away.

"Yeah," Felix said, steadily looking down, "Sorry... I'm going to go and... have some fish..."

He waded slowly out of the water as the sun finished its descent over the horizon and joined the others with the fish. He leaned his head over and tentatively sniffed the pile. It gave off, of course, the regular pungent smell of seafood, but it none-the-less reminded Felix that he was indeed hungry and now was not the time to be picky. He stuck out his tongue, surprised at how long it was, and snapped up one of the fish into his mouth, chewed, and swallowed.

It was actually quite good.

Eyes widened with pleasant surprise, he quickly began to eat down several more of the pile until he was satisfied and addressed his friends, "alright guys, let's try and get some sleep, it'll be a long flight for us tomorrow."

With that, he curled up in the sand, and soon drifted off to sleep.

Ash turned his head and sighed. This is unbelievable, maybe these two have a knack for magic after all, he thought to himself before nodding.

"Alright. Unlike the dragon kids, flying for you guys will be relatively easy, you're a lot lighter and the wind will gladly do the work for you. You should be able to pick it up relatively easily. In any case, follow my lead. Nova, Iselda, let's go."

Ash's hands enveloped themselves in the familiar green glow as he clasped his chest and broke into a run. When he jumped off of the cliff, he was already a small peregrine falcon and taking off, glancing back to make sure the others were following, it was going to be a long flight...

B raised his hands at Jodie innocently, of course she was angry, she had every right to be.

"Of course you're angry. You have every right to be concerned with the well being of your son. However, those dragonslayers being here rather than down there most certainly saved his life. With any luck, he is currently halfway to Seabluff with his friends, safe and sound. I'm concerned for those children's safety just as much as you are, Jodie, dear. But understand that the children being down there and enjoying their new bodies was something done entirely out of necessity, and certainly not want. You know as well as I do that we are an endangered species. And while I certainly wish fate had conspired to pick persons more... suitable for the shift into the mythological, teenagers possess a special... ambitious and adventurous quality about them that will most certainly see them through. Especially in the group your son is in now."

Mike scratched his head. He, more or less, understood the plight the dragons were in now, what with the race going extinct and B selling the children the blood out of necessity, but still wished that "fate" had chosen someone else's children or even people more able to handle dangerous situations, like, say, Marines. But still, it would have been someone's child going down there, and even then they might not have had the luxury of knowing that their kid is down there or even know that they had a child. Mike considered himself lucky, for know.

Tia emerged in the same old drab cave she arrived in. The elevator doors announcing their arrival with a loud ding. This time she was expecting the sudden drop down, and, while still shaken about the ordeal, was back to ordering her men immediately.

"Search this cave, try and find a hidden passage or nook or or illusion or anything that Bahamut might have escaped through. Go out and scan the horizon, if he used that old man as a ruse to try and escape, he won't have gone far in his condition. The old man was probably a consort for the platinum, and used his presence to distract us. Clever, but I'm not letting it fool us for long."

Tia, of course, still believed that Bahamut had contracted Scale Rot once they sent the younger dragons fleeing to his cave. However, there was a nagging feeling that B might not have contracted the disease somehow, she considered it to be one of her possible options, but she wouldn't be convinced unless they found no trace of the Platinum. The possibility that Tia had just interacted with B himself hadn't entered her mind at all. B turning into a human would have been a good joke to her, and certainly not an option. Dragons have too much pride to consider such a form suitable for them, even to escape Scale Rot.

Dawn of August Fourth (for some of us).

Felix slowly blinked his eyes open, glad to see that the tide had decided not to drown the 5 dragons in their sleep over night. Not like Felix could drown, of course, but still. He got up and found himself stretching his body in a way akin to a cat. It felt amazing.

"Ooh, I keep on getting surprised by doing things in this body," he said to anyone who might be listening. He looked around to make sure his friends were present, along with Lusaikth.

Ash, meanwhile, was up early and getting his small party to move. He had already demonstrated how to return to human form to Natasha and Cedi, and, with the wonders of magic, had set up camp in a single tent for the whole party, thanks to a spell that made the tent much, much larger on the inside than it was outside. Almost as if it were a small house. They had set up camp in a bluff under the desert that stretched for miles until it hit a small sea before the Camelotian countryside came into view. He took the time to make sure his party was available and ready.

Sarah was sleeping curled into a ball. The sand right in front of her face had a little layer of ice in front of it... apparently Sarah released some of frost unconsciously as she slept.

However, as soon as Felix made his comment she was shaken out of dreams... draconic eyes opening up slowly as she lazily stretched her wings, neck, limbs...

Letting out a low growl of contentment Sarah rose to her feet and approached Felix "It is quite an experience. Good morning Felix"

Last Night

Even with Kyle's tendency to misunderstand people, he knew Felix's words had a hint of smugness in them. He didn't expect someone like Felix to suddenly become arrogant but than he had a thought...the sudden love for gold, his once strict dieting habits thrown straight out the window and his sudden attraction to Lusaikth's looks in dragon form...the transformation has not only affected them all physically but mentally as well.

When Dinner came, half of the dragons were already asleep so Kyle got a decent snack. Felix's frog-like way of grabbing his food caused Kyle to pause for a few seconds but his draconic appetite made him focus on finishing his fish.

Laying on the sand wasn't as comfortable as the beds from the inn yesterday but with how far he was from civilization, complaining about it would only make Kyle look whiny and Lusaikth has already been belittled enough today. It took a bit of time but the red dragon finally got some shut eye.

Kyle did not have sweet dreams this night...instead a scary memory reentered his mind. Magnus throwing the red dragon straight towards the pillar but his dream didn't repeat reality...B was not there to catch him. Crashing into the pillar, several bones broke...including the ones in Kyle's neck but he still survived. He began to fall, Kyle couldn't flap his wings, the nerves that allowed him to do had been severed. The impact to the ground rivalled that of the pillar and like the last collision, Kyle still didn't die.

Left helpless and in an agony worse than his transformation to a different species, he tried to let out sounds begging for help but they were silent and all gibberish. The man who threw him soon appeared in Kyle's sight. Kyle was expecting a final blow but instead the giant laughed. "You are the most pathetic dragon I have ever seen" said Magnus, "I'm not going to waste the effort killing you, your blood will disgrace my weapons." Turning away, before the slayer left he stated "With the way you are now...the creatures of the forest will deal with you anyways."

With Magnus leaving, terror stuck Kyle's heart. He wanted help...anything to help him...but nobody came. Eventually nightfall came and monsters of the night came nearby. They smelt of blood and what stood out in Kyle's eye was the sharp claws of these beasts. They quickly ripped into their easy meal, pulling off the dragon's scales with ease and cutting through his flesh...

The nightmare Kyle woke up from left him extremely panicky. Getting back on his four feet, he moved his wings, neck, tail and whatever other part of his body he could. Feeling his body in perfect order, Kyle rushed up to the water to see his own reflection. He saw he was absolutely fine, there wasn't even a single scratch on his scales.

"...I'm okay..." the red dragon muttered to himself.

"Really, so you are saying destiny picked a bunch of teenagers who knew nothing about Arcadia to be saviours of a race that they didn't even believe exist." These words didn't come out of Jodie, it was from Tim butting in.

"You sure Kyle, Felix and the other children didn't somehow get teleported here by accident and you jumped on a myth or that somebody else set it up so you would pick people inexperienced for the task you set for these five. B, not only do I find your actions unethical but I find them very unpractical. Ambition and a sense of adventure do not replace the skill and calm of a veteran. I made three families forget about their own flesh and blood on your foolish gamble! B! Did your centuries of wisdom ever make you think this is a bad idea!?"

At this moment, Tim had became angrier than his wife was a short time ago. Jodie couldn't help but have a little bit of her rage replaced by shock, Tim was usually the calmer of the two.

Not too long after Ash had gotten up, Cedi had stretched a pair of human arms above his head. He had slept in human form, if only to avoid ruining anything with his razor-like claws and horns, but he reverted to his natural state the second he crawled onto his feet. Quickly brushing the clothes he had binded to himself, he rushed towards the sorcerer.

"Good morning, Ash," Cedi began, observing Ash's preparations. He was still a bit awestruck by the fact that he had learned to fly yesterday, and one could tell from his expression, even if it only included a pair of eyes, that he was anxious to leave, part of the reason being that he wanted to take to the skies again. He was about to thank Ash for teaching him such, but he had already done so roughly twice the day before, and he figured that a third time would likely be a little much.

"I didn't have a CHOICE!" B slammed his hands down on the counter, his mere rage caused a burst of forceful energy and wind to emanate from his body through the shop, dimming lights, rattling the shelves, scaring the caged canaries, causing Mike to jump back in shock and reminding the other two Secret Keepers just who exactly they were dealing with here.

There was a moment of silence as B let the shop settle itself, he was solemnly looking at the spot where the blood used to be displayed in his class counter.

"Your children did," he said, somberly, "one doesn't come upon my shop by happenstance, Mister and Misses Edwards. Let alone five young teenagers. There are illusions that need to be broken, veils that need to be pierced. They are there to separate the special from the common, the destined from the average, the heroes from the citizens. Had fate arranged so that five trained marines came to my shop and purchased the blood, then I might have very well gave it to them. However, it was not five marines, it was five children, teenagers, seemingly average young persons. One of which happens to be your son, Mister and Misses Edwards."

His words were sincere and firm, "do I wish that it were someone else? Someone more able to take on the job? Desperately. I want nothing more than to see your children be with their families, happily living a normal life. But what is done is done, and no mage, not even Merlin himself, can reverse the wheels of time to the day your children came into my store and prevent them from purchasing the blood. I warned them of the dangers, the risk they'd put themselves in, they either ignored the warnings or understood them perfectly, and drank the blood anyways. Now they must deal with the consequences, and my every action is done so that they will be safe in this new world they find themselves in."

Locating his target, Nova flew towards the sorcerer. "When are we gonna get out of here, Ash? How long until we reach Camelot?"

Jodie looked at B with gloomy eyes. "I only wish I knew this was going to happen. I'm scared that Kyle isn't strong enough...I wish I could have made him strong before this happened...I could have prepared him and the other kids."

The moment of silence returned. The amount of time did remind Jodie the real reason they came here. Recomposing herself, Jodie said "Well...you haven't given out what location our kids currently are and that is the main reason we all came here..."

Natasha was actually one of the first to wake up of the group. Then again, unlike last morning Natasha hadn't been sleep deprived going to bed. Besides, there was no way she could rest easy when Felix was who knows where. Well, all of that, and there's the fact that normally Natasha was a light sleeper. She was up, dressed(Slept in them, there was no way she was going to change with Ash around), and currently looking around the tent for something.

"Hey Ash, is there anything in here that we can use for breakfast?" Having read Harry Potter, she was rather expecting some kind of cooler or refrigerator or a stove or something at least. But so far she wasn't having any luck finding anything of the sort. Maybe it was on the other side of the tent.

Chris, meanwhile, was not such a light sleeper, and continued to doze while his friends started waking up. Well, and there's the fact that, like Natasha before him, he had spent the night before awake, reading through the Codex.

"If we get to flying and flying fast. We can probably get there tonight," the sorcerer replied to Nova as he munched on a half a loaf of bread, handing the other half to Natasha.

"So let's pick it up here. I want to be moving in half an hour. Anyone seen that fairy princess?"

Felix gave Sarina a blank look, "Didn't you pack, like, a buttload of potatoes?" he asked her discerningly, "get those out. In the meantime, I gotta go see what's up with Kyle."

With that, the black dragon trotted on over to Kyle and Lusaikth just in time to hear Kyle mention a nightmare, "you had a bad dream?"

B nodded, "Your child is with his friends, Jodie. Felix, Chris, Sarah, Sarina... I know that they will all persevere as long as they remain together. Arcadia is not as dangerous as you would make it out to be. Yes, we are in troubling times, but the land has been through worse and your children have the forms of one of the most powerful beings of Arcadia.
