When Kyle turned to face the blue-white dragon, he couldn't help but think that she had a nice body, with the wings a good size and the spines on her back have such a nice shape...and then was grossed out that he had such thoughts. The red dragon quickly grabbed on to Felix's sentence and tried to finish it with his own words "Yeah! My black friend over there had to take a break. Honestly I could have kept going to Seabluff but the five of us are supposed to stay as a group."

Tim and Jodie got out of the car and entered B's store...to find five interesting people nearby. Judging by the attire of the red-haired woman, it was obvious what they were here about.

Jodie quickly pulled out a Dumb Blonde act. With a goofy smile on her face, she said "Oh hello Mister...whatever your name is. How's the store going?"

Three of them started speaking at once. The first was not the formation leader. There was mentions of the fact they are supposed to stay in a group, which means they might not actually have done so. So not only were they young, they had no idea what they were doing, or were being incredibly casual about their travels. She had no problems with layovers, but she'd at least like to know what was going on first.

She looked them all over for several moments after they stopped speaking. "No," she started slowly, "I have no problem with you staying here for the night. You'll have to fill out a questionnaire though." Her words not only dripped with sarcasm, the sarcasm started to pool around her feet. "This lengthy interrogation will start with the simple queries first. What business do you have in Seabluff?" She couldn't figure out what five young purebloods would want with that rather unimportant town, when they doubtlessly had their own territories and their parent's peons to manage. They should be learning that fancy, utterly retarded upper crust etiquette instead of adventuring, shouldn't they?

Felix looked at Lusa blankly for a moment, before spurting, "One second," and turning to his friends. He whispered hurriedly, "Group huddle, now."

If Chris could facepalm without worrying about poking his eye out with a claw, he would. As it is, Chris just shook his head in exasperation as he joined the others. "This is incredibly silly."

"Shut up, Chris," Felix said with a quick glare.

Sarina got together next to Felix. "Uhhh.... So... What do we do exactly?"

Felix shrugged, or did the equivalent motion in his draconic form, "I don't know what to do. Do we trust her and answer truthfully or...?"

"I think we better try to act as normal dragons..." Sarah chimed in, "we shouldn't have to reveal our real motive."

Sighing, Chris replied, "we could just tell her that B instructed us to go to Seabluff. It's all she really needs to know. And I doubt a group huddle is normal for dragons."

"Oh, So we know how normal dragons act? What do they do, run around, terrorize princesses and lock them in towers?" Sarina added, sarcasm obvious.

"I doubt that will be required of us," Sarah replied, "just sit still, rest and such."

"I honestly don't see the big deal," Kyle said, "she's not a dragon slayer or anything..."

"Well, yeah, she's not a slayer," Felix said, "but still... She's an actual, you know, dragon. And well..."

The black looked sheepish, "we don't know how they act down here, out in the wild like this."

"B's an actual dragon," Kyle responded, "and we're going to meet up with another actual dragon!"

Chris spoke up again after a moment of silence, "...Yanno, thinking about it, wouldn't she be able to hear our whole conversation by virtue of draconic hearing?"

There was a pause.

"That's why we're whispering," Sarah whispered.

Kyle looked unsure, "Er..."

Felix glanced back at Lusaikth before returning to the conversation. Sarina took a look at her as well. She was still a good distance away. "I think it'd be fine to talk here," she said, "so.... I'm not sure we can exactly trust the new dragon.... How do we know she's not cannibalistic?"

Felix rolled his eyes, "okay, Sarina, that's just stupid."

Sarina shrugged, though it was difficult with a dragon body. "It's always a possibility."

Kyle answered a tad more seriously, "I think she'd rather eat the fish she caught than take on five dragons... talking about the fish, you think she'll offer it..."

He looked back, "because...even raw it smelt delicious..."

Felix shook his head, "guys, we're getting off of the subject."

Chris nodded, "can we please just tell her that B told us to go to Seabluff? If B is as legendary here as he is on the surface, wouldn't that get her to leave us alone?"

Sarah responded, "it's not even about danger of fighting her... I just don't think it's wise to tell someone we just found about our purpose. We don't have to be rude or anything. Just reserve the information."

Kyle nodded, "so... we'll tell her some bits and hide the rest..."

"Well," Felix began, "It's not like we're on some sort of secret mission, are we?"

"Sounds good. So we tell her-" Sarina pondered for a moment before finishing the sentence, "and can we ask for her to share the fish?"

Kyle perked up, "I'm with Sarina!"

"Ugh," Felix groaned, "Well, Chris, Sarah?"

"...I am pretty hungry..." Shaking the thought from his head, Chris got back on track, "well, it's pretty much what I've been suggesting from the start, right?"

"I'm opposed to telling too much," Sarah said, looking away, "but it's up to you guys. I'd rather not say anything and wait until Seabluff to eat."

Chris responded, "it's not like we really know anything that she'd be too interested in."

"Well," Kyle replied, "except the part that we used to be human...but we're not telling her that..."

"Well, that would go a long way to explain this." Chris said, motioning towards the huddle.

Sarina's eyes brightened, "I have a great idea. We should exchange our information for her fish."

Felix sighed, "um, that's just kind of rude, I think."

"Anyways, it's decided. I guess... we'll tell her. And yeah, the 'used to be human bit' stays out of the info. Break!" With that, Felix broke off to face Lusaikth. He looked back at Sarah, "Um, you go first, Sarah."

Sarah still had reservations about the plan, and responded, "as you say Felix."

"We're meeting up with someone" Sarah simply answered. She was in equal part intrigued and intimidated by the appearance of this new dragon. She didn't actually fear a confrontation... there was no evident reason to be hostile and no matter how green they were, there was five against one of their same size. No it was more of a social fear... how well could they pass off as dragons in front of somebody that had actually been so her entire life?

Still they could just try and act as natural as possible. Also pray that their new bodies didn't give off any strange cues that they weren't used to cover when lying.

"So, you have your lair somewhere nearby?" Sarah proceeded to ask. Better to shift the conversation her way.

"I sleep on the open plains, I enjoy the space. I didn't pick this scenery to be cooped up in a cave my whole life," Lusaikth responded, entirely deadpan. She was not especially amused at what she saw as a conversational detour. Clear that out of the way before getting back to the manner at hand.

"That's an awfully vague answer for such an exaggerated little huddle there. If you're using my land you could at least have the decency to tell me why. What if I'm no particular fan of where or why you're traveling?"

The antics just displayed in no way amused Lusaikth, her already-short patience growing thinner with having to deal with these... twits. What was their thing anyway? They didn't have a traveler's air, and played at some secrecy that probably wasn't warranted at all. Irritating.

Sarina bobbed her head around in a manner that represented attempts at explanation, but looked more like uninterested waffling. Being a dragon didn't help her social skills much.

She whispered to Kyle, "I think she's getting hungry and is about to eat us..."

Felix sighed and shook his head, this was ridiculous, it's time to be honest, "we were sent by B, er, um, Bahamut, from his lair to go to Seabluff in order to find the red dragon Klaus. We're... immune to Scale Rot, and, while B probably would have trained us, we were attacked by dragon slayers, and since his lair wasn't safe anymore, he just decided to send us to Klaus, because I think he thinks we'll be safer with him and be better trained there to fight dragonslayers."

Felix sheepishly clawed the ground with one of his hind claws, glancing aside and back at Lusaikth. That entire spiel was easier to get out than he thought it would be.

Lusaikth continued to issue forth a flat stare, but her tone changed considerably. "Those are some mighty big names you're throwing around. No wonder you all managed to get this far without tripping over yourselves. if Klaus is expecting you you had better hope you're better than timely. Not too early though, it'll end much the same way."

Immune to scale rot? Definitely something she should know. "And if you're immune? Well I suppose you'll just have to tell me how. Oh you can stay the night, yes, but only because you're not leaving my sight until I know how." Lusaikth accompanied this declaration with a more assertive stance against Felix's submissive one. No way they were getting away, not after that.

Kyle didn't reply to Sarina, just turning to the strange girl with half-closed eyes before facing back towards the other blue dragon.

When asked why the disease doesn't affect them, Kyle responded "Unfortunately, there's no way to gain immunity to scale rot...it's just something that a few dragons have..."

Kyle decided now might be a good time to introduce himself. "Anyways, my name's Kyle Edwards, what is yours?"

Kyle'edwards? He even said it funny. In two parts like some of the other races. Were these some dragons who disliked being dragons? Adopted the mannerisms of other races as an expression of their shame? It could explain some of the odd mannerisms. And it certainly put Lusaikth off her aggressive slant with how far out of left field it seemed.

Eventually, she decided to just ignore it completely.

"I did not say I wish to learn how to acquire the cure, though that would certainly be interesting. I said I wish to learn how you are immune." The deadpan tone continued.

Wait, she knew what she was ignoring now.

"The name is Lusaikth, by the way. You can stay here if you want, on the condition you let me tag along until I find out what the Platinum one sees in you. So far... I don't see anything, but I don't presume to be the judge on all issues of dragons."

"I'm Felix," The Black replied, "and um... God. Sorry, we're um... we're kind of new to this."

He was flustered. Out in the big wide magical world beneath the world. He was usually more friendly than this, but again, he was talking to a dragon, of all things, despite his status as a dragon himself.

"And um... Aside from B, and, well, ourselves, you're really the first actual dragon we've come across. So, uh, we really don't know what to do. But thanks for letting us stay the night here... Lovely beach... You sharing that fish?"

Wow, he was really awkward. This was new for Felix, on the surface he could smooth talk people into friends within minutes. Down here he was just acting stupid, almost as if he was from another country, or world even.

Probably because he was.

Great Felix, dropping off more hints to what we actually are and not even making good conversation. Sarina groaned internally and decided to get crackin.

"Lusaikth, 'fraid we can't tell you much about Scale Rot. Old B-man threatened to feed us five year old elephant corpses dunked into centaur mucus if we let out too much info. You'll have to ask him about it. As for now, don't mind if I go to sleep."

Sarina pretty much collapsed onto the sand and fell asleep then and there. Apparantly, she was actually very tired.

Chris just shook his head in exasperation some more. Each time one of the group spoke, they dug the ditch a little deeper. Spending a moment to just glare at each of the speakers in irritation in turn, before saying, "We're just making her confused. Let's just tell her and be done with it. Look, up until a couple of days ago, we were human. Completely human, no disguise or anything. We happened upon the store B has set up there, and he gave us something that made us into dragons. Dragons made this way are apparently immune to Scale Rot. B sent us to Klaus for training." With that lengthy explanation done, Chris trotted a short distance and laid down.

Natasha was almost going to be problematic. Almost. As tempted as she was to refuse to cooperate, she really just couldn't afford to. Insisting on finding out which direction Felix went would garner suspicion, and she wouldn't be able to follow them without learning how to turn into a bird. She simply put all of her energy from frustration into learning the spell.

"Chris! Why did you have to say that? You're going to reveal the whole story about us to every single person we find on the road? She might be a dragon but we know next to nothing about her and to be completely honest we didn't have to tell her anything about our situation!" Sarah asked with no little amount of irritation. She wasn't very happy with the amount of information they had to reveal to the demanding dragon and just when Sarina gave them a good excuse not to reveal anything further about them Chris just had to let the cat out of the bag.

There was a long pause while Lusaikth absorbed what was just said. she supposed it was just The Same But More of the conclusion she arrived at earlier, but it didn't change the fact that 'conclusion' was supposed to be idle humorous musing, not an actual stab at the truth. She supposed this is an example of scoring a hit when you wanted a miss. She had many more questions now, and her interest in the subject- in these subjects- had just been raised considerably but she now felt less inclined than ever to ask.

She realized the long pause must be uncomfortable for them, and drew it our several seconds longer.

Finally, "That explains much." Lusaikth turned from the group and started to walk away. This whole ordeal was stupid. She smashed the ice block containing the fish as she passed it, the contents spilling onto the sand, but she did not stop her movement there, instead angling out slightly to the surf, freezing a small portion of the surface and sitting down on it, staring across the horizon.

Felix looked at the group, glared daggers at Chris, and looked toward Lusaikth. He crawled towards her slowly and entered the surf next to her ice platform. Relax Felix, she's just a dragon, like you, just be yourself...

"So, yeah. Kid of a crazy story, I know. But hey, the craziest ones are usually true, aren't they? I mean, look at where we are! Anything's possible down here, right?"

Ash looked at Iselda as though she had just demanded that he eat the ant. He sighed, and with a flippant wave of his hand, let the insignificant bug free. It scattered off someplace as Ash confronted Iselda, "listen, these two need to fly. And I won't be having them cast transmutation spells on themselves before they have it mastered for using it on another creature. So unless you want to change them to birds yourself, and have them not learn anything, they'll be using you for target practice, princess."

Tia looked at the three customers as Mr. Canaray greeted them, "hello! Welcome back, so good to see you again, you'd think by now you'd have my name down deary. Mr. Canary. Please, feel free to browse, miss..."

Tia was curious for an all of 3 seconds before some trinket caught her eye and she decided to examine it.

Kyle wasn't as angry as the others with the green dragon. "I can't blame Chris for saying the truth. After Felix's words, I doubt even Sarina's cover would stop her from finding out about our former humanity...though I try to make sure Lusaith would promise to keep the information secret first..."

When Lusaikth smashed her frozen dinner, Kyle couldn't figure out what's up with that dragon. Shouldn't she be happy? We filled her curiousity...

"Mr Canary, that's it!" shouted Jodie with fake joy. Noticing that B was expecting a name out of her, the blonde said "Wait...you can't remember my name! Just for that, I'm not saying it!"

Tim couldn't tell whether that his wife's act was just her trying to look stupid or she was having fun with it. He was going to have to keep up with Jodie. "Oh sorry, my wife is like that. Her name is Alice and my name is Bob. You're probably thinking right now I married her for the looks...guilty as charged!"

"What!?" Cedi reeled. "You wouldn't rob me of the chance to learn this spell, would you!?" His eyes widened almost suspiciously, focusing themselves upon Iselda as if she was threatening her, even though Ash was the one who made the actually harmless suggestion. He was far too bent on learning the spell to even consider that he could always do so later- or that, if he waited for a response, Iselda just might actually agree to Ash's terms of target practice.

No way. he told himself. I must learn the spell myself. I refuse to simply borrow temporary power, not when I have a chance to truly learn how to fly on my own...

"Iselda, please. I am very eager to learn this spell," he began. He thought he had avoided sounding desperate, but a hint of such a sense was noticable. At the very least, he had the demeanor to avoid even considering polymorphing the fairy against her will, which he had assumed she wouldn't agree to. "If you don't let me practice the transformation on something else- anything else at all- then I'll immediately try it on myself," he stated, completely serious, and ignorant of the risk of a mistake should he actually do such.

"Why don't they use you as a target, Ash?" Iselda quipped back. "That way you can check firsthand their improvement in magic, and it's not like a badly done polymorph would hurt a seasoned sorcerer..."

She giggled.

Ash laughed. As in a genuine, cackling, laugh. He leaned forward, clutching his thighs for support. After his laughing spell, he straightened up with a sigh, and said, flatly to Iselda, "good one."

"How about they use you instead, princess? So if they botch the spell they won't wind up possibly making me explode and be short one magic teacher," he offered, gesturing toward Iselda.

Mr. Canary laughed heartily, and motioned toward Mike, who had just walked in, "and who's your guest, Alice and Bob? He rode with you, did he not?"

Mike thought for a moment, obviously these people in the store were better off not knowing his real name, otherwise the Edward's would have been more truthful and B wouldn't be calling himself Mr. Canary. Mike quickly thought of a fake name for himself.

"It's Carl," he said, "pleasure to meet you Mr. Canary."

"It's all mine! Please, feel free to browse, I will be here whenever you're ready to make a purchase," Mr. Canary responded warmly.

Tia was now almost certain something was not right here. Did surfacers always act like this? Where the hell was Bahamut? She was certain the dragon that was protecting the 5 younger ones was him. But when she climbed to his lair, all she found was this "Mr. Canary." Did Bahamut have the power to assume a human form? Was this shopkeeper him? No. A dragon as proud and legendary as Bahamut would never take a human form, she was certain... Or maybe...

As the fairy and the sorcerer argued, Cedi had shrunken back a few inches- with their remarks, it became obvious to him that neither of the two could compromise as to what he could practice the transformation spell on. He held his left claw up to his face, debating with himself...

Looks like I have to do it now or never... he concluded to himself. Removing his sharp hand, he slowly continued to step backwards, until he thought he was out of both Ash's and Iselda's direct fields of attention. Hoping they wouldn't pay too much attention to what he was doing, he began to point his index claw at his chest. The azure humanoid removed all of his attention from his surroundings, and converted it all into thoughts centered around a falcon- if he was about to shapeshift, he wanted to be able to keep up with his mentor, he was already was envious enough of the five dragons who had left a while ago. He was still concentrating on the bird, for the sake of caution, but his hands were beginning to glow...

"Well, it's fortunate that I'm the one that is supposed to be a good healer, then." Iselda folded her arms, in a most grumpy manner. She seemed to look at the sorcerer's eyes, intently. "I can't believe they made you this reckless, Ash. Stepping on lesser beings like the ants mercilessly won't affect the outcome of your revenge. Save your spite for those times when it actually counts."

She studied her feet for a little while. "Fine then, I shall make an small clay construct. It should be just fine as target practice."

It was a long time before Lusaikth responded. At first she just turned her head to regard Felix intently- it was even longer before she spoke. When she did it was in a slow, measured voice, masking some emotion but it wasn't clear just which.

"Anything? No, no that is not the case. The world follows rules that cannot be broken, you were simply unaware of what they were, thought they were more restrictive than actually true. Apparently I was in a similar position; you have told me something I to now believed impossible."

The dragon turned her white-masked face back out to sea, gazing at some point over the horizon. "I'm surprised you five were allowed to travel alone. I suppose, out of sheer curiosity if anything, I'll have to change that."

Cedi had ignored Iselda's words- as hard as he tried to ignore everything else to concentrate, he could only assume she was still disagreeing with Ash. Before the sorcerer could react in any way as she did, Cedi released the spell, firing a green ray into his torso as he hoped he did so properly.

Miraculously, he did. Almost instantly, he felt the magic affecting his body. It was an indescribable feeling quite similar to when he was first transformed upon seeing Arcadia, yet much different. His body and frame shrunk down to bird size and shape, as his blue scales were replaced by brown feathers. His arms and legs molded into wings and talons, while his horns vanished from behind his head. A sharp beak broke out of his otherwise mouthless face, screeching out in surprise.

Dazed from his sudden change of shape, Cedi took a few seconds to gather his bearings within his new falcon body, taking a few gasps from his beak. Everything looked and felt so different... he thought such when he was first given his demonic form, but the difference was much more significant on a bird's scale. Everything appeared so much larger, yet he did not feel as intimidated as he expected. He did feel somewhat limited physically, yet that he had removed another limit entirely...

Curiously, he leapt straight upwards using his talons, and flapped his new wings as hard as he could. He wasn't flying by any stretch of the word, touching the ground again short after, but his wings clearly kept himself aloft longer than he would have without them. The realization that he now could, with proper learning, defy gravity had enthralled him.

"I-It worked...!" he accidentally telepathized. "I actually turned myself into a falcon!" He had thought that he was simply thinking to himself, but in his exictement he failed to notice that even while transformed, his telepathy still worked perfectly fine. At the moment, he was too engrossed to pay attention to Ash and Iselda, despite the fact that he was cautious of them less than a minute ago...
