I wanted to run The Tyrant Neptune so bad, but other cards took it from "unnecessary" straight to "BANNED".

I'd be interested if this is a sequel in something like a sequel Qliphort archetype - Astraqliphort?

Would that work?

Oh, because loops.

[up] because one other fusion monster that have the effect to increase it ATK and burn damage base on it LV while immune to card effect. That monster start at lv1 but gain 1 lv per turn. Now Tyrant Neptune can gain the effect of the monster used to tribute summons it, can be summons with 1 tribute and is level 10. This lead to the combo where you Instant Fusion the lv1 monster, tribute it for Tyrant Neptune, turning him it to a 6000 ATK monster, can burn 5000LP per turn and immune to card effect.

Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom has a similarish effect and it was banned because loops, so I thought the same applied here.

Here the main culprit for Tyrant Nepture and Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom ban

Her ideas is that she get stronger each turn but start off really weak. But then people really they could just give her effect to monster with better stats to use it. It a shame this one card cause the ban of 2 unrelated cards. Tyrant nepture still more easy to access than Starving Venom since he generic and could be search by King of Feral Imp, who also a generic rank 4.

Ah I remember making a really dumb Neptune Turbo deck - where if it didn't for some reason get out a super-Independent Nightingale Neptune, instead I'd go for Thousand Eyes Restrict just because that'd be annoying.

Starving venom wasn't banned because of loops, he was banned because he was a FTK machine thanks to the aforementionned lyrulisc boss monster. Shtiting two starving venom on the field (excessively easy in pendulum magicians) and dumping the lyrulisc in the grave through instant fusion was the win condition of the Pendulum FTK deck, no loops involved.

Rata covered the subject in his lunalight video in intro. "Really, what was the competition ? Melodius, who interrupts their own gameplan ? Windwitch ? more of a synchro engine than anything else, and Lyrulisc, who had a boss monster so poorly designed it led to the premature ban of two completely unrelated cards."

I also blame Instant Fusion for part of it, because that card also helped several other busted strategies. If it were errata'd to non-effect fusion monsters, it'd be a lot better.

It wasnt just that fusion either; odd eyes revolution dragon became the next abuse target, who fit naturally in odd eyes magicians with tons of ways to dump and search it out.

Yeah, revolution was a factor too, but comparatively, a card that can potentially spin the enire fields and graveyard and attack for game if you have something like 5K life points is a much smaller issue than a consistent FTK considering the state of the game, and the issue would have been treated simply by hitting the pendulum magician deck the way konami eventually did.

With the exception of Blue-Eyes, no "girl" deck has been featured in a Structure Deck yet. I would like to see Trickstar and Madolche in a Structure Deck.

Most of the monsters are female.

Alternatively, all boss monsters are female.

There's literally a single female monster in that structure deck though.

Yeah, counting BEWD, a deck associated with the very masculine Seto Kaiba might had led to some confusion (well that and the fact that the dragon was Kisara's ka was a very late revelation that might be obscure). Though besides BEWD and Kisara herself, the "with Eyes of Blue" subseries does have some more female monsters.

That aside, I'm hoping that Marincess will be the next original SD after Rokkets. Which would unambiguously add a "girl deck" to the line as both the associated duelist and the monsters are female. And hopefully add some tools that'll make them as meta as Salamangreat and Trickstars.

Went 2-2 last night, though the first match was against a Harpie player. My final match was against a ridiculous combo deck, but I at least won a game there.

Salamangreats. Thinking about swapping to Nekroz depending on how the banlist goes.

I just went 2-0 against an Azathot combo deck thanks to Evenly Matched and my stupidly good Solemn Strike luck. I pulled two in my opening hand when going first in Game 1, and set another after Evenly Match resolved in Game 2.
