Sure it vaguely resembles a sad girl looking through a mirror at night.

However the caption does all the work. She doesn't look like a princess. She doesn't look like she is in space either(the picture is blury).

Maybe putting princess Jasmine from aladin as a "street rat" and with her princess clothes would do the trick

[up][up]It doesn't have to be a princess, just a girl who's part of the upper stratum (in terms of social class, wealth, popularity etc.) of whatever group she's in.

Add a before pic? [1] [2]

(There is a surprising lack of pics of her after her Father was killed right in front of her [3] [4])

She just looks scared. Perhaps Jasmine?

Princess: [1], [2], [3]

Fallen: [4], [5],

Here's the zappy part, for those who think it's necessary: [6] It's technically from a different part a few seconds later, but whatever.

Her with Jafar, if it helps to solidify the image: [7], [8], [9], [10]

^I like the idea of using Jasmine

First thing I thought of was Enchanted. We can even make it literal by putting the instant Giselle is shown plumetting! (either from the portal or from the billboard)

Of course, that was before reading your ideas

But Giselle wasn't REALLY ever a princess.

She never married into royalty, and she wasn't royal to begin with was she?

This is Mimi-don't let her cuteness fool you-she's got spunk.

The trope isn't about literal princesses.

Ok, well if that's the case, then I have nothing against using Giselle then.

However, I'm more in favor of using Jasmine, but if someone gets a good enough Giselle image, it will have my vote.

Can we just decide what to do so the thread stops getting a bump a month?

According to the trope description, a "fallen princess" is a metaphor and doesn't have to be an actual princess. It's about a girl who is admired, who then falls to the bottom of the social ladder for some reason.

Jasmine is not actually an example of this trope, since she never falls. She gets hypnotized for a brief while, but that's not the same thing. Actually, Buffy The Vampire Slayer from the movie would be a better example (because running around at night with a stake is not good for your rep).

(edit) Well, I've read through the page and find it has four conflicting definitions (and I'm afraid that Jasmine doesnt fit any of them). I've created a thread on the Trope Repair Shop to figure out which one we actually need. I don't think we can feasibly pick an image until the definition has been decided upon.

While there's not many votes on the crowner, there haven't been any nays, so I'm gonna lock this up and tag the page regarding this thread and the TRS issues.
