Really liked the information we got.
The only bit I'm a little antsy on is the holiday events, but hopefully its just for locking them away for the first year of release and not preventing time travel altogether.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobSomeone noticed a tombstone in the Direct and now everyone's freaking out over which character may have died.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Man, New Horizons is sucking me in so hard.
Unfortunately, given the save file issue... I’m gonna have to hold off on buying it until I replace my Switch.
I just posted this at the bottom of the last page (well, not Gamexplain's video below), but there will be system transfers for islands, but not at launch.
So, you can do what you are doing or get it now, but hold off on purchasing a Switch for how ever long it might be.
Am I the only one who wanted to play Super Tortimer?
The Protomen enhanced my life.I wanted to play it too. Disappointed to learn it was a prank. I remember putting a message on the town bulletin board warning the animals not to accept gifts from Tortimer.
I enjoy the implication that the rescue operator is Resetti. I would have missed that cranky mole if he was really gone. Hopefully there's a way for him to lecture you, too.
I assume the tombstone is a decoration (or maybe it's for Wisp), but we still haven't seen Tortimer...

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Maybe we'll stumble upon an island where he is lost.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Resseti could scold you if you use the Rescue Services too often, or something. I'd like that.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI hope there's a better way of getting neighbors. I hate when I get an animal I want in the campsite but can't invite them in because I already have 10 neighbors. There's also been times when the camp animal refuses to move in.
Nintendo will be going for the immersive booth experience for this weekend's PAX East.

Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiCharacter customization videos
I'm not sure what they were thinking with that bucktooth mouth option. I'm pretty sure not even the developers of the game like it, considering none of the villagers in officially released media of the game have had it, lol. Also, seems like you don't select your gender at all, which is neat.
Edited by FawfulCrump on Feb 25th 2020 at 7:40:12 AM
No gender selection is really gonna come back to bite them in the ass for heavily gendered languages (such as mine). I don't know how that will work without being extremely clunky.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."You can also fully recustomize yourself once you get a mirror or vanity.
English at least has "they" even if it isn't very wieldy as a gender neutral pronoun.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Blathers will now tell you about anything you donate to the museum if you ask him to
This legit excites me more than anything else we've learned so far. I was really gutted New Leaf got rid of 90% of Blathers' dialogue.
It's a shame that the character customization quiz i being scrapped. As annoying as it could be to have to restart to get a certain look (or look up the answers), it was original.
I have been avoiding info on this game so I don't know any new info on it. I just hope it brings back in-series calenders and certain events like Morning Aerobics.
I don't think there's a tasteful way to work skintone options into the quiz, and they can't really get away with lacking skintone options entirely anymore. Still having to rely on the dumb tanning mechanic in NL to get darker skin was frankly already pretty ridiculous.

Nintendo reps at the PAX East booth are confirming this as well.
They could work skintones into the quiz by framing it as a "which season do you like best" with Summer being dark skin and Winter being pale.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I've seen this discussed a lot since NL. My favorite guess was that Kapp'n could ask you what bandage color you want.
I do think that proper character customization is being introduced this time around, considering last time sparked ire from certain groups for good reason. Previews of the customization feature actually indicate that this time you do have the option on different tones of skin, so I have high hopes.
Wait a second: How on earth did I even get here?Spanish footage.
Holy shit the museum is amazing. It even has a weird "ancestors" lineage lmao. And the tent that serves as your temporary museum is cute.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Just as a heads up, New Horizons' review embargo lifts in around 9 and a half hours from now.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
Wonder what'll happen to Joan and Chip since they've been seemingly replaced.
And Resetti's theme was playing during the rescue services scene.
