but HOW?My observations on why the Mythos has been in steady decline:
1. The most obvious reason activity has been down is the stabbing attack. That got people associating the Mythos with murder and violence, and the fandom never really recovered image-wise.
2. Slender Man became overused. The character has been the star of so many creepypastas, horror blogs/vlogs, and games, that people started getting sick of him.
3. Most of the well done Slender-series have ended. Take for example Marble Hornets, which ended over a year ago.
4. Five Nights at Freddy's. It was the last nail in the coffin, as it came around in time to take advantage of the above three problems, establishing itself as the new, terrifying, indie horror franchise. It caught the Mythos at its most vulnerable moment and served as the Mythos' "Fall of Rome" moment.
Anything I missed or you disagree with?
Lack of content reflects lack of interest. And to your other point, when was the last popular Slender blog created? 2011? Almost all quality Slender Man related content ended a year or two ago, with no other related works appearing to take their place. So in their absence, F Na F took its place.
The Mythos is currently six feet under with no way to get back out. When EMH and TT finally end, that's it.

Actually, when I first found out about the Slender Man Mythos in late 2012, plenty of blogs were still being made and going strong- in fact, I think something like peak activity had been hit. I kept finding new content for a while after that. White Elephants and redlight's story had a hell of an ending, goddamn.
That said, a couple years later, things were winding down on their own. The Slender game was actually a bit of an anomaly; the first version got put out at a time when the mythos was already grinding to a halt, and despite presumably launching a new wave of interest in the character, in terms of actual content from bloggers and video series makers, things actually seemed to decrease even more.
FNAF didn't have anything to do with the Slender Man Mythos going out of fashion as far as I can tell- it showed up at a time when the mythos had already pretty much faded from public memory. Its popularity on the internet seems to be just one of those gaming fad thingies- a game shows up, appeals to the right demographics in a way that instantly turns it into a classic, sticks around just long enough to make an impact, and then fades away.

but HOW?Tribe Twelve. It's one of the Slender Series on You Tube. It's a lot like Marble Hornets and Everyman Hybrid. The basic drill: Slendy is being a dick and normal guy has to figure out what it's all about. Along the way, we unveil a Cosmic Horror Story involving alternate dimensions, time travel, other versions of yourself and more insanity.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?

Holy shit I am fucking hyperventilating right now. I was expecting more of the same and then SHIT GOT REAL D:
what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
