Good stuff. I like that Catachans are in Retribution, but I wish they had put more effort into adding separate troops. Like for instance.. If I could play IG and either pick Cadians, Catachans, or a few other types of regiments that are popular, and thus they had different rulesets. Say you have Tanith and you can put sniper rifles on guard squads, but you get no armor except Sentinels and maybe one chimera limit, with two max heavy weapons teams.
Armageddon troops would get bonuses encouraging mechanized infantry, such as bonuses to Chimeras and the damage troops do firing from them, etc.
Or Krieg.. Move much slower, but much tougher troops, with entrenching bonuses when they stay in one place for long enough.
It'd take relatively low effort to do things like that for the various races, and I think it would add boundless amounts of options for multiplayer so people couldn't really make up specific strats against you.
Of course then you would get the bitchin from all the people who would feel snubbed that their favorite subgroup doesn't get represented, and I guess that's what this comes from on my part. I'm a Guard player and I've never liked the standard Cadia pattern guard, or Marine chapters that follow the codex closely.

I'm fine with what they did. I just wish they changed two things. Keep the regular guardsmen from referring to themselves as "cadians", and re-name the Catachan devils to "Catachan jungle fighters". There is a regiment named the Devils, but their troops are just jungle fighters.
Read all of my fanfics!I just really like the aesthetics of other guard units more than the Cadians. The trenchcoats and gas masks of Krieg and Armageddon regiments... The cloaks and sniper rifles of the Tanith.. Etc etc. I guess I could probably get mods that change the skins on them and are purely cosmetic.
A Deathwatch ruleset would be pretty cool, though I'm glad they took the time to include the paint scheme and badges in the defaults. Like.. No armor except Rhinos, emphasis on using tactical marines with exotic bolter ammunition.
The problem with the deathwatch color scheme is the marines don't have to emblems of the original chapter. It would be cool if they were able to make a randomizer for when marines are deployed.
Read all of my fanfics!I finished the Chaos campaign. NURGLE IS JUST PLAIN BETTER THAN KHORNE!
More seriously, Varius and his plague of undeath is extremely lulzy.
The ending slide was.. D Isapointing though.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Entfunny thing about Varius, I upgraded him to get his cloud of flies that infects people near him(which is totally awesome, btw), and now the cloud of flies he has drops my fps whenever he's on the screen D:

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider! Why not just put Doomrider in the game? With a random number generator to determine if he stays.
Read all of my fanfics!Aaaand double-post to express my annoyance with my game's sudden crash.
If these games must crash, I really wish they'd do it at a time other than the final boss fight. You'd think we'd be done with this bullcrap after the bug that crashed Chaos Rising when you beat Ulkair, but nope. Kyras knew he couldn't beat my Swarmlord, so he attacked my RAM directly, I guess.
You have displeased the Omnissiah. Light incense and pray, and the Machine God will bless you.

"Strike the first rune upon the engine's casing employing the chosen wrench. Its tip should be anointed with the oil of engineering using the proper incantation when the auspices are correct. Strike the second rune upon the engine's casing employing the arc-tip of the power-driver. If the second rune is not good, a third rune may be struck in like manner to the first. This is done according to the true ritual laid down by Scotti the Enginseer. A libation should be offered. If this sequence is properly observed the engines may be brought to full activation by depressing the large panel marked "ON"."
But you are an ork. All you need to do is kick your computer and it will work. Although, that would make me a dark eldar, and I don't even want to know what it takes to get their machines to work.
