Any chance the Iconians
were the ones who build those "elevated" synths, then got wiped out by them?
Last time we saw Lore, he was completely taken apart wasn't he?
After he lead that emotional Borg rebellion and got Data to join him temporarily.
One Strip! One Strip!A synth mind-meld isn't that far-fetched. We've seen the reverse in "The Changeling" where Spock mind-melds with an artificial intelligence.
The whole mind-meld thing is part of the "science" of ESP (as discussed in "Where No Man Has Gone Before") that was popular in the 1960s and 70s. Turns out (spoiler warning) it's not really a science.
(The mind meld was invented when a character was supposed to be hypnotized in "Dagger of the Mind" but the network objected to the depiction of hypnosis for fear that viewers could actually be hypnotized. The mind-meld was the replacement.)

So we all agree that was beautiful right?
Cause it was.
And next season, we get Whoopi Goldberg.
We're still lacking some Deep Space Nine representation though (since we got Seven from Voyager). Who would you guys choose?
One Strip! One Strip! There were parts that were great — the last scene with Picard and Data was wonderful, Picard's speech to Soji that "we save each other" was a great Picard speech, Seven kicking Evil Sexy Romulan into a bottomless pit was also awesome — and there were parts that...weren't.
I knew Picard wasn't dead. I mean, the entire show is named after him and they already announced a second season. His entire death scene was kind of empty because of that. I don't like fake-out deaths unless they really go for it and Picard's death was meh. I would have liked him to still have the brain anomaly in the second season, like a ticking time bomb. Also: did everyone forget that Agnes killed someone and is supposed to be going to jail? Also: did Seven and Raffi hook up? Because I can see that. We need more Seven next season.
Actually, I hope that the ship and crew end up joining the Fenris Rangers and we get more of the story about them and how/why they exist. Also, what happened with all the xBs? Did they join the androids? Do they all live in a big society now? Because I think that would be nice for the xBs.

The part for me I am kinda uneasy with is The giant federation fleet. That Will Riker would come, I buy. That Riker could even talk a few captains into coming along? Sure? But that Picard, whom we've been told has burned alot of bridges at starfleet, sends a message going "We found a new race of Synths, also the romulans are about to wipe them out, also they totally did the mars thing even though I don't actually have evidence of that" gets a response of several hundreds of Starfleet's best ships? Fucking Sisko had trouble getting 1/20th of that half the time on DS 9. Picard in his prime couldn't get 1/3 that number of ships to go prove romulan involvement in the Klingon Civil War. But now Picard calls and a Dominion-war sized fleet answers? What the hell?
I'm not saying it's impossible that behind the scene stuff could prompt that? Maybe Riker pushes some buttons. Maybe someone figured out Oh was a Romulan. But none of that is shown. And this is the same Picard who at the beginning of the show couldn't even talk Starfleet into renting him a Runabout. This sudden and frankly unexplained turn about annoyed me. Even if it was hella cool to see Starfleet

Apparently the world was rather deep into Federation space, a transwarp conduit opening up in Federation space would be panic mode... especially with a freaken Borg Cube now moving around. Also really only Clancy has been the ass to Picard, that other Officer we met was far more amicable.
I’m just mad that the Fed fleet was like 3 ship designs, the ship variety was sad as hell.
The world being deep in Federation space isn't even mentioned. Heck, you'd think Riker would mention that rather than going "Well Picard sent his message before you got here so na-na". "This is our territory and you are invading and threatening a war" is a far stronger argument. And again, this a fucking Dominion War Sized fleet. That starfleet went "Oh yeah we just have 200 ships to send. Sure" when Picard's never been able to get that in TNG for actual threats to the Federation and its allies again just doesn't make sense for me. The worst part is it didn't even have to be that way, like, make Oh's fleet 3 ships, then have Riker Show up with 2 other ships, and you get the same effect without the sheer wtf.
"Oh a transwarp conduit opening in Federation space would cause such a response." No it wouldn't. Voyager ends with a borg Transwarp opening less than a light year from Earth itself and Starfleet's answer is at best a few dozen ships. Not hundreds. Wolf 359 didn't have 200 ships there!

Yeah, the Fake Out death was annoying me too, as well es them apparently ignoring Agnes killing Maddox. Sure, you could say that she was driven mad and put under pressure by the romulans, but I would still expect some kind of punishment.
So I will be watching season 2, but I am not excited. I wasn't excited for season 1, more like casually interested and my expectations where fulfilled. Make of that what you will.
You lost!I still overall liked the first season (And franky in Star Trek every season 1 sucks so by this standard Picard is gold). Theres flaws but I never hated it. I will definitely watch season 2. Even if the ending makes me laugh. Like, where are they flying too? What are they doing? Just gallivanting across the universe with Rios' ship?
I hope we get more Laris and Zhaban in season 2. They were great.

When evil Romulan sister got mugged by those Ex-Borg and transported away, I had assumed she transported to a Romulan ship, because the next shot after she transports away was of a Romulan ship, but I guess she just went to another part of the Borg cube?
Where did they get that magic wand they used to fix the ship and make all the hologram copies of the ship? I forget them picking that up.
Did Picard say he's 94? How old is Patrick Stewart? How old was Picard at the end of Nemesis?
79.
That said it's always been a thing that Picard is older than Stewart. In the notes for the pilot of TNG , Picard was written as 59, while Steward was 47
Yes, TOS is the exception to the first season curse (And TAS, obviously)

I assume it was letting him escape and kill one of her fellow synths in order to advance her desire to call in the death Synths.
One Strip! One Strip!
