As long as that acronym isn't the main page name I don't mind if we use it on the page itself.

[up]I guess. But using it at all would encourage an abbreviated redirect, which would lead to the initialism being used as a trope on works pages, and then pages get ugly.

BFG is a classic. That has a right to exist. BFS is a snowclone of it, but I think a reasonable one given their prevalence and the inherent impracticality of them. BFB is definitely stretching it though and BFC is right out. That's just terrible. This particular snowclone is possibly the worst of them all, because the more them there are the worse each individual trope becomes as they get mixed up with each other. BFG and BFS alone are already pushing this to its limits, so we have to put our foot down somewhere. I'd also support renaming BFB as well whatever else we might have missed. Even just expanding the name to something other than an acronym works.

The fug is BFB?

Edit: Oh, "bomb." Yeah, that I had to look that up is a bad sign.

Thought it was gonna be a Humongous Mecha redirect.

[up][up] That one makes a little bit of sense F-word's as titles are bad.

Requirements for that trope are kind of confusing its about those old really grand movies with those 5 minute music intro's before the movie and such but goes off to list modern examples but excludes movies like Lord Of The Rings trilogy and such.

[up][up] It lists LOTR.

I think it's just movies that were intentionally popularized as the biggest, most expensive, most epic ever.

Though I originally mixed up Big Damn Movie with it, that resulted in one bad snowclone, The Big Damn Kiss, because I thought that "big damn" is used inconsistently anyways, for things that are damn big.

I think I'm going to open a rename discussion for BFM. It would be better served by a descriptive name like Epic Blockbuster.

Edit: Done.

[up][up] Ahh I missed it listed there >< I read the description and it seemed to exclude the movie by definition. NVM

[up] agreed or Epic Movie Of Epicness (err ok that was lame)

I haven't checked the YKTTW yet but reading the trope and its examples, but as it stands at the moment I don't see a clear difference between this trope and City Noir or it's good guy counterpart Shining City.

Everything can be found on the Internet... except common sense.

[up] Those are both about cities. i.e. multiple buildings. This is one building, a castle. Reading the tropes helps a lot. Those currently don't have much if anything to do with this one.

Huge Castle. Enormous Castle. The acronym needs to DIE. All of the BF? acronyms except BFG and BFS need to die. BFS needs to die, too, but it won't, so I'll pick my battles here and not waste energy trying to kill it.

Speaking of which, do we need another thread for BFB? I'd like to kill that title with fire too.

To bring things back around to that actual topic of this thread, Big Fancy Castle is the best choice, I think.

I would be fine with Big Fancy Castle. Unabbreviating it would do the trick, but we might as well be open to new ideas.

I just want to thank this trope for making me even aware that there were BFx titles other than BFG and BFS.

Ok, the YKTTW is ready to launch. Does anyone have a better name than Big Fancy Castle or should I just launch it to that?
