The Bonds concerning the Internet in Chuubo's are hilarious in that respect, and far more different from what we assumed
.
On a Chuubo-related note, I've digested the system enough that I think I'm ready to tackle it on. If anyone here is interested I'm recruiting for a game of Glass-Maker's Dragon on Giant In the Playground
.
You know a Homestuck-inspired Chuubo game is going well when people not actually playing it start shipping
.
^_^
Edit: Also, I'm being Rinley in a Glass-Maker's Dragon game over on RPOL
.
It hasn't been going long but I have already, shall we say, made an entrance.

oh my god being rinley is so much fun
Two posts in and already I've
- gone surfing on a roof tile;
- dropped an octopus on Leonardo de Montreal's latest project;
- and told a story about how crabs that aren't waterproof grow up to be encyclopaedia salesmen.
Okay. As bad ideas go, I need someone to rank this one from "wearing shoes that are half a size too small" to "setting loose an Actual just to see what happens".
The idea: concluding that Rinley Yatskaya's power over the wishing heart is tied enough to hope that her default reaction to meeting the Child of the Sun should be straight-out near-religious awe.
Finally finished Fable of the Swan. I'll probably read it again one or more times in the near future.
Salute! Apocynum!
I gotta say, the ways she could be built
seem pretty elaborate and slightly ridiculous, although it seems very appropriate that she would have so many Arcs as a result of all the development she undergoes.
Edit:
I've no idea what you're talking about.

I've read the Fable of the Swan twice already. Jasmine Apocynum strikes me as very Affably Evil.

WOOF!So I was thinking about Exalted recently, and the fact that She Who Lives In Her Name is the Principle of Hierarchy gave me the idea of a game about Principal Hierarchy and Lighter and Softer-ified versions of the other bound, broken Primordials going to School. Child of the Ash arcs, far as the eye can see. The Ebon Dragon with his Fist-Shake XP, Adorjan with her Speechlessness XP, Malfeas with his Offering You Comfort....
Starting arc: Shepherd (A Keeper of Gardens)
Starting quest: Down
Toxin: Barely contained green radiance, especially around the heart
Magical Skill: Heart-Compelling Dance 2
Superior Skill: Land-Rule 2
Skill: Hall Monitor 3
Skill: Invoke Terror 1
Arc traits:
Child of the Ash 1
Mood: Terror
Element: A city of brass, iron and green fire
Kaiju form: the Demon Emperor, sheathed in green light and rage
Wounded Angel 2
Devices: +1 Tool bonus to his Hall Monitor skill; yellow sash, Safety Patrol badge, and so on.
Dramatic: He tends to turn up spontaneously behind anyone who is badmouthing him
Cage for a Blasphemy: The rage chained within Malcolm’s heart sparks and flares, but it has not truly been unleashed for some time. When Malcolm’s Divine health levels run out, that stops being the case.
Divine Wound: Dreams of Glory and Wrath
Power: Divine Mantle (see CMWGE, p1025)
Every night, you dream of a radiant, glorious being, a creature of glorious power and nobility. Every morning, you wake to find yourself still scarred and broken. By stirring the fire of the resultant rage, you can unleash staggering power.
Divine Wound: Cowboy Cop
Power: Domineer
You’re good at bringing them in. What you’re not good at is not destroying anything in the process. Your pursuits tend to produce significant destruction and incidental carnage.
Divine Wound: Vengeful
Power: Payback
You do not take betrayal or opposition well. When someone harms you, goes after people you care about, or otherwise proves dangerous, it becomes very hard for others to control you or steer your fury.
Perk: “The corridors of this school are like a home to me.”
Perk: Bond: “Duty calls” 2
Basic Quest: Duties (purple)
Emotion XP: Offering You Comfort
Type: Miraculous Action
Cost: 0mp – 1/book, invoke Domineer
1mp – invoke a second or later time per book
2mp – invoke a second or later time per chapter
4mp – invoke a second or later time per scene
This functions much like Declare (CMWGE, p1056), except that it can only work on a limited number of emotional reactions – those involving either fear or loyalty, to be specific.
Type: Miraculous Action
Cost: 2mp – 1/chapter, invoke Payback
4mp – invoke a second or later time per chapter
Invoke Payback when someone attempts to harm you or someone you care about. Backlash is a miraculous attack on that person, with Miraculous Edge equal to the value of any relevant Connection perk.
Tonight, the part of Cornelius Fillmore will be played by a cross between Malfeas and Sam Vimes on a very bad day.
It probably didn't help that I was listening to this
while doing the writeup.
You could also do something along the line of Exalted Angel Beats: a school as a purgatory in the afterlife, where you face your life and, upon accepting yourself, reincarnate...or maybe just Exalt. In afterlife.
I know of no better purpose in life than to perish attempting the great and impossible.

I will admit, I just had a mental image of Caliborn's feet poking out of a computer screen.
OH FuCK. THIS SHITTY COMPuTER. IS EATING ME. WHAT THE FuCK. IS uP WITH THAT.
