Hey, we're kinda old-fashioned, okay? We don't keep up with all your new-fangled contrivances out of Arcadia. It's not like I'm claiming giraffes are docile herbivores] or anything.
I think my favorite thing on the list is the Lazy Glass, though. A mirror that runs a few minutes slow isn't exactly useful, but it's a great conversation piece.
So far in Chuubostuck, I have managed XP actions by a) talking with someone I kinda knew, b) getting into a fight with a rival, c) slapping that rival in the face to help her calm down, and d) using a laser to hold video game stores to ransom until they give me three copies of SBURB each.
This game is awesome.
I've been a bit busy lately, but I just got the chance to look through the thing on the Trickster and Nightmare's Angel. The bombastic, Dark Is Not Evil mad scientist gets powers from being better than all those peons surrounding him, and from having physically removed his heart. How much more of my money do you want, Jenna Moran?
Screw it, I'm setting up a character page. It's going to happen eventually, it might as well be now.
Ironically enough, the edit lock timed out twice and both times I was working on an Excrucian (the Dream-Witch, then Leonardo de Montreal).
There's a ton more tropes that need adding but it's been a long day so I'm going on break.
Edit: Also, Jenna likes the Chuubostuck game I'm in! ^_^

We can officially celebrate the arrival of the Glass-Maker's Dragon! An awesome future has been guaranteed! It really jumped up in the last two hours, huh?
Oh geez, those who donate 50+ get the GWB if we reach 95,000. That's... I really want that, but it's outside my range and I kinda already have it.
Still, just getting GMD is enough to make me happy. Seriously, I'm surprised so few have jumped onto the bandwagon that is Chuubo's. Just by backing at $25, you get a game's core rulebook, a big supplement and an entire campaign, plus a lot of other stuff.

$2000!! Superb! Truly a dedicated contributor.
Well, now that the kickstarter is over we can resume this thread's normal schedule and add more stuff to Chuubo's trope pages... quite a lot of stuff.
On a related note, Iolithae Septimian is goddamn terrifying. I remember reading in 3e about the whole 'turned the seas to saltwater', but I really didn't expect that to come back the way it did. The Mood Whiplash from that to how she was skilled with Sighing, Sai Combat, things that sound like "Sai" and being surprisingly familiar with pop culture was... Unanticipated.
More like large numbers of dedicated last-minute contributors.
(While I think I can claim that without my $80 and advertising it in the Homestuck thread it probably wouldn't have reached $90,000, that's not exactly the same thing!)
Edit: I just swore vengeance on umbrellas and shoes, this is the best game ever.

I think the best was using "People must have reason to worry" to provide assistance to my already-mentioned "use giant laser to hold shops hostage" plan. I subsequently used "People must accept what is happening around them as normal" to enhance an effort to convince another party member that it was totally OK to man a laser on the request of a junior league supervillain wannabe.
I'm also trying, at the current point in the Chuubostuck game, to finagle "There must be bullies, delinquents and cliques" into defending another party member from ogres and/or an Excrucian, because you can't have cliques if the people in them are dead. No word on whether that'll be accepted as yet.

Were I, implausibly, the HG, (and feeling unhelpful) I'd just get around that by having the ogres bully the clique of imp delinquents.
Edit: You know how it's mentioned that Town's internet would have the properties of Big Lake? Having a wicked-swallowing property around whenever you're on the internet in a Homestuck game sounds absurdly useful.
