Another theatrical Sponge Bob movie. Or a huge figting game. Or playing the Adult Pary Cartoon of Ren And Stimpy, or better yet, uncanceling it.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2D"Or playing the Adult Pary Cartoon of Ren And Stimpy, or better yet, uncanceling it." Have you watched the damn thing? Your Mileage May Vary on it's quality, but no one is going to claim it's anything resembling kid-friendly. No way Nick would air it.
A huge fighting game would be awesome. Something Super Smash Bros-esque, especially.
As for another Sponge Bob movie, that doesn't sound as much like a "Nicktoons anniversary event" as much as something that's just a given.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I would like it better if it were closer to Marvel Vs Capcom 2. That's what the on-site fighting games are like, right?
Or maybe they will finally air Squidwar's Suicide.

I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DA Mega Crossover featuring every single Nicktoon that was ever produced in an epic Made-for-TV Movie.

Trust me, I REALLY REALLY want that. We've had crossover videogames, but they haven't been used to their full potential. We get a few cut scenes with Zim and Spongebob interacting, but not the kind of personalities-bouncing-off-each-other-action we'd like to see.
I mean for god's sake, Jimmy Neutron and Stimpy were in the SAME GAME, and we didn't get to see them have a scientific debate. Who wouldn't like to see Stimpy explain the concept of a Happy Helmet to Jimmy?
signature lineI think the main issue is plot. There's no way to write the damn thing so that it plays to everyone's strengths. There are massive, fundamental differences in the worlds these characters live in, the mood of each show and the sort of plots that best suit them. How would one reconcile the down-to-Earth calmness of Doug or As Told By Ginger with the off-the-wall lunacy of Ren And Stimpy and Ka Blam, or the fast-paced action of Avatar The Last Airbender and Danny Phantom? Even ignoring the logistical mind-boggler of meshing these universes together without some sort of tearing-down-the-walls-of-reality style plot, the end result will either have to pick a genre and run with it and shoving those that don't quite fit to the sidelines, or end up a schizophrenic indecisive mess.
Plus, you know, Nick can't make new Doug-related material anymore. Disney owns it now.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.A huge month long marathon of Nicktoons past, with hosts a la Cartoon Cartoon Fridays.
And who else to host by those paragons of 90's Alternative Animation, Henry and June? It helps that none of the other Nicktoons have much hosting experience.
Oo, quite like that. I miss both Cartoon Cartoon Fridays and Kablam something terrible.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. They will air the pilot to every single Nicktoon they ever aired and still have the rights too. Yes, even the less remembered ones.
Still though, they can't make new material based on their first cartoons because the industry has changed. Not only did they lose the rights to Doug, but Jim Jinkin's studio crashed years ago and he's basically scrapping off whatever money he can find now. I assume John K. would be all for returning to Ren & Stimpy, but who knows what he could have a problem with? As for Rugrats, Klapsy-Cuspo hasn't been doing anything except for an adult animated feature film released in a foreign country.

I PREDICT that Nick will do absolutely nothing.
What I'd LIKE to see is a miniseries like Mattonymy suggested. The more action-packed Nicktoons, like My Life As A Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom, Avatar The Last Airbender, Invader Zim, and et. cetera would take center stage of the story, while the crowd scenes would be filled out by characters from the slice of life cartoons, like Hey Arnold and As Told By Ginger.
And they'd call it... "Nicktoons Forever".
Just thought of this today: If they can't have an epic Made-for-TV Movie crossover then the next best thing I would like to see is, and bear with me, a feature length documentary interviewing all of the creators of the Nicktoons over the years. It could show the progression of the studio and would be a very entertaining history of Nickelodeon's 20+ years running.
Although I'd still prefer the Mega Crossover over anything else.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I'd cry with joy if we got a gigantic crossover movie or a day-long marathon for each show the entire month. But, I don't see it happening.
I predict a Spongebob marathon followed by Fanboy And Chum Chum.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.I love the documentary idea. I got the book "Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons", hoping it'd be something like that, and was quite disappointed to find that:
- It's primarily an art book.
- Most of the art is of promotional material or title cards and easily findable online.
- All but maybe five cartoons only got a couple of pages.
I feel like an action-heavy crossover would shaft the slice-of-life stuff, which would suck because there were no "action" Nicktoons until My Life As A Teenage Robot. Essentially they'd only be celebrating half the network's history.
Kappa Mikey is not a Nicktoon, it's a show on the Nicktoons Network. But so long as we're talking about the less-remembered ones, it'd be awesome for Pelswick and KaBlam to finally get some attention.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies....Not really, no. It has to have Nickelodeon as it's primary network.
Don't get me wrong, I'm quite fond of Kappa Mikey, as I am Making Fiends and a number of other of their original shows, but they aren't Nicktoons.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. As long as they're under the label associated with Nicktoons or Nickelodeon, they are Nicktoons. It's even in the title of the network. And this doesn't have anything to do with personal preference for a show- this is strictly terms. There have been many Nicktoons original shows that have also aired on Nickelodeon too.

is this August 11th. You guys think Nickelodeon will/should do anything to celebrate, and if so, what?
They've got upwards of thirty individual series, so all-day marathons of each show for the month of August would be pretty sweet, with clips of interviews with important members of the production staff in-between.
But it's Nick, so we'll probably get a half-assed one-afternoon marathon of mostly old episodes of newer shows with a few episodes of Rocko and Angry Beavers thrown in to appease the die-hard fans.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
