[up][up] I was somehow under the impression it was parked, so I didn't get it at first.

But that's just plain stupidity on my part.

The image is great. I can remove the string, if it's distracting.

I think removing the string would be worse. Right now it is clearly what the child is paying attention to. With it gone, there's no visible reason for him to be in the road or oblivious to the truck.

The string part isn't that important. He could be doing a number of things—playing with a paper cup telephone, playing with a kite, or just playing with a string because kids like string. I'm a bit worried about the spoiler factor, but I guess it doesn't matter because it's really not spoiling anything. As far as you know, the kid could have escaped unharmed.
