Since child endangerment is near the top of the list, I'd suggest one of these frames from Naruto.

I think Kryb from the Sinestro Corps is a particularly horrific example of that.

It's kinda hard to tell what that image is about, but once you see the babies, yeeeaachgh.

Something to draw a bit more attention to the babies would be better.

Eh; that seems a little too unlikely. I mean, really. Parents are afraid of things happening to their kids, but I don't think their afraid of their kids picking up a pistol with their feet and putting it in their mouth.

I am pretty damn sure they would be if it happened before their eyes.

It's so unlikely that it ends up being a potential NARM source. The second image linked to in the initial post is probably more fitting.

I didn't mean it wasn't funny, I just thought it might not make the best image.

Yeah, the baby with the gun doesn't really work.

The point of this trope is something that adults truly fear could happen. Not that babies might shoot themselves or be gathered up in a giant sack, or that their kid could be killed by a crazy man, or that they'll die at old age, or something like that.

Laconic: Giant monsters? Not that scary to adults. Realistic bad things happening to their children or the world? High Octane Nightmare Fuel.

Maybe something like this? A little child playing on the street unaware of the danger. A realistic fear all parents have when it comes to children and traffic. [1]

Would maybe like something that says "the horrible monster is not scary at all, but this mundane (and honestly dangerous) thing is terrifying".

Maybe that doesn't exist. The kid standing in front of an oncoming truck in Pet Sematary is pretty good.

I was gonna suggest a kid sticking a fork in a wall outlet, but the Pet Sematary pic is perfect.

Everybody seems to be OK with the Pet Sematary picture. I thought about cutting the sides, but I decided that it works better that way. It makes the boy look smaller and the distance to him bigger.

This helps transporting the feeling of helplessness. You see what is about to happen, but are too far away to do something.

The string he's holding? I haven't seen the film (have read the book, though), and I think it's the string of a kite. Could be wrong.
