^^ Sorry you couldn't make it yesterday. :(
I might be able to get on earlier for some worldbuilding. And about the schedule: keep in mind that the times posted in the OP are now set to GMT +0, so you need to adjust it to your own timezone (I did it that way to keep it completely neutral).
^ Always good to have complex character motivations (not that I ever really have, for numerous reasons).

Nothing's other Motivation is to meet peopel he trusts so well that he will tell them his real name. He hides it so that no one will recongnize him. He's never told anyone besides family (they're all dead now, anyway).
Actually....I should take a page from Even A Chance Meeting and make him like Schizo *. He would have two forms, a normal Lawful Neutral one, and a Chaotic Evil one. Both are technically the same person, but are different parts of his psyche. While both show up as two seperate people, only one is physical and can affect the world around him, so they are constantly battling for control of his body (the "non-active" one can talk to other people, however. He simply can't do things like hit them). Sound interesting?
Also, my reply will probably not be for a few hours from now.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithHm. I feel like if you actually give the CE side dominance much, it'll break down party unity. Probably best to leave it as a constant threat in case we really screw something up and give the LN side a mental breakdown.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyAlso, Chagen, do you know how soon you'd be able to play? Just wondering because we're about to reach a sort of checkpoint; specifically, returning to the town that gave us the mission. That might be a good opportunity for the new characters to be brought in, since Tamsin and probably Alexander will be in today's session. If you haven't rolled your character up yet, we can help with the things you can need help with. There'll be some time before today's game, and it wouldn't be a problem at all.
Also, as another thing: INUH has the right of it. On top of that, giving into a chaotic evil side will probably put you at risk for a loss of monk powers, so the less of a risk there really is, the better.

We're playing today? Aw shit...
Anyway, let's change up Nothing a bit:
First of all, the evil side of him is called "Everything". This is because he embodies everything Nothing hates—his capacity for evil. Though he quite often will respond to "Nothing"/
I think I should make Everything Lawful Evil instead of Chaotic Evil. He doesn't want to just go around and burn orphanges for fun—he wants to impose Neutrality like Nothing does.
The difference is that Nothing wants to make sure both good and evil do not go out of check.
Everything thinks that we should just kill everybody. Then there would nobody left alive to break Neutrality.
...Yeah.
But he still has a quasi-code of honor. Since he's well aware that he can't kill everything, he instead chooses to kill those who he thinks that would bring Neutrality from their deaths, making him Lawful. The Evil part comes from how he doesn't mind killing at all (he's basically a sociopath) and how he'll kill even good people to bring Neutrality.
Of course, given that he can't do anything most of the time, he usually fufills the role of the Deadpan Snarker. He only can come out if Nothing wills it (almost never) or if Nothing is so emotionally distraught that Everything can come out and wreak havoc. He has the same stats and abilities as Nothing when he's in control of the main body. Once out, he quickly goes to kill whatever he feels he must kill. Even if it would blow our cover or make us lose valuable information. So let's make sure that doesn't happen.
I had some other ideas, but I'm going to have to get Everest's permission first. Among them was a spell that could bind Everything so he doesn't fuck everything up horribly, for example.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-Wraith@ Chuggles: If there aren't already any spells that could suppress a separate personality (well, there are, but I mean more the ones that aren't wish or miracle), I could almost certainly houserule one in. The rest of those ideas would have to be ran by me, of course, but that can be taken care of.
@ Cygy: Thanks for the heads-up. Sorry you can't make it today.

Chagen - have you read the Skulduggery Pleasant books? There's a character there who's very similar to the Nothing/Everything you're describing. Most of the time he's completely neutral to almost every living thing, but when things hit the fan, he can call on something inside him that will literally rip everything in sight to shreds...but he has to fight to make sure that doesn't take over.
The idea is somewhat like that, though I've never read that book. The main difference I see would be that Everything actually has his own body that he can walk and talk with. However, he cannot physically impact anything—if he punches you, his hand will go right through you. He can't pick anything up either, nor can he use magic. So he can't assist in a battle in any way.
When he gains control of the body, then Nothing is pushed back to his "spirit" body of sorts and loses the ability to physically interact with the world around him, while Everything has the corpereal body and can actually do things like attack or pick things up.
As such, Nothing actually appears as two people to an observer. One blue-eyed, one red-eyed. Though Everything usually can take a non-visible form. But he still can't affect anything, he can just float around and talk if he doesn't have control.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithShit. I'll probably have to wait to the next one then.
Also, Everest, the other idea I had was that if Everything got control of the body, your character and everyone else's had a way to prevent him from messing things up. Through force.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithStarbreaker.
This divine weapon was once wielded by the famous Paladin of Pelor, Heiroth, for the express purpose of killing the foul Demon Lord Naztherin. The blade was made from iron from a fallen star, and channeled his God's Divine Wrath through it/
DC 14.
It is said that the metal he made the blade out of refused to be heated by any but the hottest forge. He attempted many things- magical fires, negotiating with Dragons, binding a Fire Elemental to him- before he eventually had the idea to try heating the metals in the heart of a volcano.
DC 17; Trial by Fire.
The blade now forged, Heiroth set off to slay the Demon, with naught but his friend, a Cleric of Pelor, behind him.
It took may days, but eventually they found Naztherin's lair. Heiroth set off, hs friend by his side, and entered into battle single-handedly with his opponent, his friend doing naught but healing him.
DC 24: Trial by Combat
They were successful in fighting the Demon. Unfortunately, during the fight, Naztherin destroyed their saddlebags- their only form of food, water or shelter.
Heiroth and his friend bravely set off, trying to return home. The journey was taxing, however, and his friend perished of starvation along the way.

There are too many toasters in my chimney! That looks really good, and I would definitely allow it, but I want to point out two things:
1. The Trial by Combat should be more specific about which kind of demon you should kill; demons run the entire spectrum of power. By the time a PC would be attempting to succeed on the Trial by Combat, killing something like a Lemure or a Dretch would be a joke. The legacy weapons I saw that had requirements based around defeating enemies said things to the effect of "A monster whose CR is greater than or equal to your own." So killing a demon whose CR is within 2 steps of your own would probably make it more of an accomplishment.
2. I thought it was a little funny that the fluff is based around killing a demon lord, and yet "Sense Undead" is one of the abilities. Not that it wouldn't be useful or justifiable under the ruling of "it aids the wielder in every aspect", but it seems like a bit of a jump, that's all.
Huh. I have a backstory for a legacy pair of guantlets Nothing could get, but he would have to have them in his backstory (remember the idea I had of him having them seared into his skin?), but the way he gets them is rather interesting.
Speaking of that, I have got to roll him up when I get home. <_<

[20:32:47] <INUH|Tramlaw> "What for?"
[20:33:16] <Cygan> "To stop me from punishing him, like I did the Shifter."
[20:33:31] <Cygan> "I will be more effective if I don't get violent."

[20:36:06] * INUH|Tramlaw looks confused, but doesn't object.
[20:36:08] <Meophist|Agia> "... fine."

[20:37:44] <Meophist|Agia> (I tied him, and no.)

[20:38:15] <Everest> (Stupid me; his hands are still tied)
[20:38:46] * Meophist|Agia draws the rapier and points it at the drow.
[20:38:55] <Everest> The drow opens his eyes very lazily and glares at his captors.
[20:38:56] <Cygan> "Stop."
[20:39:03] <Cygan> (Directed at Agia.)
[20:39:08] <Meophist|Agia> "I've got a question for him."
[20:39:19] <Cygan> "You can ask him later."
[20:39:32] <Everest> "Can we get on with this? I don't much care to listen to your prattling."
[20:39:50] <Cygan> "Indeed."
[20:40:07] * Cygan picks up the cord, then nudges it, waiting for him to stand upright.
[20:40:12] * Meophist|Agia sheathes the blade, "Fine."
[20:40:33] <Cygan> "Stand up."
[20:40:35] <Everest> "I won't move, you know."
[20:41:01] <Cygan> "..."

[20:42:15] * Cygan|Seren turns and walks off.
[20:42:21] * Meophist|Agia follows.
[20:42:23] <Cygan|Seren> "Come along, Elf."
[20:42:39] <Meophist|Agia> "I will without being told."
[20:42:57] <Cygan|Seren> "Can never be too careful."
[20:43:18] <Meophist|Agia> "I think you're too rarely careful enough."
[20:43:22] * Cygan|Seren travels about two hundred yards before stopping.
[20:43:24] <Everest|Llayra> "What do you need to know? I can answer certain questions without putting up a fight."
[20:43:42] <Cygan|Seren> "I need to know... several things."
[20:43:47] <Meophist|Agia> "My first question would be (Uncommon)Who are you?"
[20:44:00] <Cygan|Seren> "Would you be willing to answer my questions without hostility?"
[20:44:11] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Uncommon? Do you mean Undercommon?)
[20:44:21] <Meophist|Agia> (Right, undercommon)

[20:46:30] <Meophist|Agia> (Fine.)
[20:46:35] <Cygan|Seren> (You didn't attempt diplomacy.)
[20:46:50] <Meophist|Agia> (Alright.)
[20:47:29] <Everest|Llayra> (Sorry; just need to find that damn NPC Attitudes table again)
[20:47:44] <Meophist|Agia> (PHB, under diplomacy.)

[20:49:30] <Everest|Llayra> "But at the same time, I am not permitted to answer certain questions."
[20:49:39] <Cygan|Seren> "That is okay."
[20:49:48] <Meophist|Agia> "Really?"
[20:49:50] <Cygan|Seren> "We willl work around that."
[20:49:58] <Cygan|Seren> "First question."
[20:50:04] <Cygan|Seren> "What is your name?"
[20:51:00] <Everest|Llayra> "My name is not important, but I will comply: I am Esprit."
[20:51:09] <Cygan|Seren> "Okay."
[20:51:16] <Cygan|Seren> "My name is Seren."
[20:51:29] <Cygan|Seren> "It may not be important, but it is polite, no?"
[20:51:47] * Meophist|Agia wonders the point of this.
[20:51:49] <Everest|Llayra> "I suppose that's fair enough."
[20:51:57] <Cygan|Seren> "Okay."
[20:52:06] <Everest|Llayra> "But I would like us to move onto the important things."
[20:52:20] <Cygan|Seren> "Okay."
[20:52:35] <Cygan|Seren> "Why are you here?"
[20:52:52] <Meophist|Agia> (Because we knocked him out and tied him up, of course.)
[20:53:00] <Cygan|Seren> (Shut up)
[20:53:09] <Cygan|Seren> (I mea, why is he out of his village)
[20:53:17] <Everest|Llayra> "I was sent to kill as many people above ground as possible before being killed myself."
[20:53:19] <Meophist|Agia> (I know, I was just making a joke.)
[20:53:20] <Cygan|Seren> (Point ut my stupidity ;_;)
[20:53:34] <Cygan|Seren> "..."
[20:53:35] <Everest|Llayra> "Didn't exactly work out, as you can see."
[20:53:43] <Cygan|Seren> "Who sent you?"
[20:54:01] <Everest|Llayra> "My superiors."
[20:54:28] <Cygan|Seren> "Your martial superiors, your village superiors or other superiors?"
[20:54:41] <Everest|Llayra> "All of the above."
[20:55:11] <Cygan|Seren> "So it was a unanimous decision among your superiors."
[20:55:35] <Everest|Llayra> "Yes."
[20:55:48] <Cygan|Seren> "Okay."
[20:55:56] <Cygan|Seren> "Why did you attack us first?"
[20:56:22] <Everest|Llayra> "Because my superiors decided that it was too noisy above ground and wanted the noise to stop."
[20:56:41] <Cygan|Seren> "Yes, I understand that."
[20:56:49] <Cygan|Seren> "But why us first, in particular?"
[20:57:26] <Everest|Llayra> "You were not the first group that I came across; a certain trio of kobolds was not quite as lucky as you lot."
[20:57:47] <Cygan|Seren> "Okay."
[20:57:59] <Cygan|Seren> "I understand that."
[20:58:15] <Cygan|Seren> "Why did your village not attempt diplomacy first?"
[20:59:32] <Everest|Llayra> "We know that diplomacy with certain races would be impossible, and as a result, the fighting between above-landers would not stop. This was considered our best option."
[20:59:56] <Cygan|Seren> "I understand this -_-"
[21:00:21] <Cygan|Seren> "Did you attempt to learn anything of our group before you attacked us?"
[21:00:37] =-= Cygan|Seren is now known as Cygan
[21:01:05] <Everest|Llayra> "We had nothing to work with, as you are relatively new to the forest, and I had little time to gather new information based on a stalk."
[21:01:16] <Cygan> "Okay."
[21:01:29] <Cygan> "Here is a piece of information for you."
[21:01:36] <Cygan> "My name is Seren."
[21:01:45] <Cygan> "I am a Knight of Iomedae."
[21:02:08] <Cygan> "By attacking me, you have risked violating the Oaths of Redlee."
[21:02:22] <Everest|Llayra> "Miss . . . Seren . . . I do not know what either of those things are."
[21:02:41] <Cygan> "..."
[21:03:04] <Cygan> "Let me inform you, then."
[21:03:29] <Everest|Llayra> "But first, care to guess /why/ I don't know?"
[21:03:50] <Cygan> "My guess is that you simply never bothered to learn."
[21:04:25] <Everest|Llayra> "Well, then, your guess would be incorrect. As you can tell, I'm not exactly illiterate, so why wouldn't I know what is, apparently, basic history?"
[21:04:44] <Cygan> "How can I tell that?"
[21:04:57] <Cygan> "I have not seen you attempt to read or write anything."
[21:05:01] <Everest|Llayra> ". . . Seren, exactly how much do you know about the dark elves?"
[21:05:13] <Cygan> "Enough."
[21:05:30] <Everest|Llayra> "Oh, really? How does our society work, then?"
[21:08:06] <Meophist|Agia> "Seren, since he's being so generous with information, why don't you just let him explain?"
[21:08:24] <Everest|Llayra> After a few too many seconds of waiting, the drow says, "Fine, I'll answer for you: we're a matriarchy."
[21:08:27] <Cygan> "Indeed. Let's hear his explanation."
[21:08:31] <Everest|Llayra> "That's the most important part, anyway."
[21:09:27] <Everest|Llayra> "We're /quite/ matriarchal. Knowing that, as well as why I'm here, and my circumstances, why would /you/ guess that I don't know of these Orders and Oaths of yours?"
[21:11:06] <Cygan> "..."
[21:11:17] <Cygan> "My guess?"
[21:11:33] <Cygan> "Because you did not take the time to attempt to learn."
[21:11:46] <Meophist|Agia> "..."
[21:11:47] <Cygan> "My society is not exactly matriarchal itself."
[21:11:49] <Everest|Llayra> "I do not know of these things because I was not /meant/ to know of them."
[21:11:57] <Cygan> "..."
[21:12:06] <Everest|Llayra> "Hint, hint: I was sent on a mission where I was expected to die."
[21:12:15] <Cygan> "..."
[21:12:20] <Meophist|Agia> "Why do you bother with it then?"
[21:13:00] <Cygan> "What."
[21:14:11] <Everest|Llayra> "I know where I stand; to refuse the mission would be outrageous. I was raised as a weapon. Nothing more. I know how to read and write eloquently, but that's only for the sake of holding myself with the standard dignity. Things like history and scheming are not what I was raised for; I am to take orders and complete them."
[21:14:31] <Cygan> "I see."
[21:14:47] <Meophist|Agia> "I don't."
[21:14:52] <Cygan> "In this case, blame is not fallig upon you directly."
[21:15:23] <Cygan> "Tell me. Even a lowly Drow will have heard of their fallen King, correct?"
[21:15:31] <Everest|Llayra> "Nope."
[21:15:36] <Cygan> "This is, after all, common knowledge."
[21:15:39] <Cygan> "..."
[21:15:41] <Everest|Llayra> * No
[21:15:54] <Everest|Llayra> (Forgot dor a sec that the drow hasn't been speaking quite that casually)
[21:15:57] <Everest|Llayra> *for
[21:16:12] <Cygan> (Okay.)
[21:16:33] <Cygan> "Let me explain this to you then."
[21:16:49] <Cygan> "Long ago, there was a King of your kind."
[21:16:58] <Cygan> "He was powerful. Very powerful."
[21:17:21] <Cygan> "He lived on the contnent of Veristae."
[21:17:31] <Cygan> "However, one day he grew too greedy."
[21:17:47] <Cygan> "And he kidnapped the King of the Elves of Verstae."
[21:17:54] <Cygan> "And in doing so,"
[21:18:09] <Cygan> "He killed a Legion of the Knights of Iomedae."
[21:18:24] <Cygan> "He thought this would be enough to put us down."
[21:18:35] <Cygan> "He was wrong."
[21:18:50] <Cygan> "We took up swords, and we took our vengeance in blood."
[21:19:15] <Cygan> "Every Drow warrior, Ranger, Oracle, everybody who could possibly pose a threat."
[21:19:20] <Cygan> "And then..."
[21:19:32] <Cygan> "We marched to your City's capital."
[21:19:55] <Cygan> "And one score of Paladins walked in."
[21:20:00] <Cygan> "And after that,"
[21:20:23] <Cygan> "We did not leave a single Drow who could possibly pose a threat to us alive."
[21:20:39] <Cygan> "And when a Queen rose in his place,"
[21:20:46] <Cygan> "We swore her to an oath."
[21:21:37] <Cygan> "She swore to never again allow one of her vassals to raise her hand to a Vassal of Iomedae."
[21:21:52] <Cygan> "Under fear of retribution, the same as last time."
[21:22:46] * Meophist|Agia appears somewhat bored.
[21:23:02] <Everest|Llayra> The drow's eyes were glazed over throughout the entire narration. "Seren . . . you lost me after 'King.' We do not have kings; even the lowliest drow knows that."
[21:23:16] <Everest|Llayra> "And also, what good does it do me, in particular, to know any of this?"
[21:24:29] * Meophist|Agia shrugs.
[21:24:35] <Cygan> "I care not if you believe me."
[21:25:01] <Cygan> "What good does this do you?"
[21:25:10] =-= Everest|Llayra has changed the topic to ``The Jammies D&D Game. Today: Drow Interrogation''
[21:25:25] <Cygan> "You are going to understand just how bad an idea this was."
[21:26:16] <Everest|Llayra> "I was set to die, Seren. Or at the very least, be captured and tortured. How will it be any worse because Holy Knightly Order X has captured me, rather than a camp of orcs?"
[21:26:35] <Cygan> "Because this does not involve just you."
[21:26:50] <Cygan> "This involves every Drow on this continent."
[21:27:08] <Meophist|Agia> "I fail to see why he'd have any loyalty to his race, considering the situation."
[21:27:13] <Meophist|Agia> "That said, he did go this far..."

[21:28:01] <Cygan> "What loyalty do you feel towards your kind?"
[21:28:01] <Everest|Llayra> "The Elf makes a valid point, yes. I was sent to kll. Why does this extraneous knowledge matter?"
[21:28:05] <Everest|Llayra> *kill

[21:28:55] <Cygan> "... Indeed."
[21:29:30] <Cygan> "Tell me. What do you want in life?"
[21:29:59] <Everest|Llayra> "I want/ed/ to live, eat, and sleep with something resembling peace of mind. But by being sent on this mission, all of that is forfeit anyway."
[21:30:24] <Cygan> "... I see."
[21:30:41] <Cygan> "What would you say if I told you I could guarantee this for you?"
[21:31:11] <Everest|Llayra> "I would pray to Lolth that you could protect me from my owners."
[21:31:41] <Cygan> "Indeed."
[21:32:00] <Cygan> "What would it take for me to convince you that I am able to?"
[21:32:14] <Everest|Llayra> "Tell me your numbers."
[21:32:24] <Cygan> "..."
[21:32:32] <Cygan> "Tell me yours first."
[21:32:50] <Cygan> "I am not convinced you are not planning to report back to your superiors."
[21:33:03] <Everest|Llayra> "Were you going to untie me in the first place?"
[21:33:21] <Everest|Llayra> "And I am not supposed to return; death mission, remember?"
[21:33:39] <Cygan> "Ah."
[21:33:44] <Cygan> "This is true."
[21:33:55] <Cygan> "I may untie you."
[21:34:13] <Meophist|Agia> "..."
[21:34:23] <Cygan> "If you can convince me that you will not attempt to flee or attack me first."
[21:34:55] <Everest|Llayra> "What after you untie me? Am I just supposed to run free? Seren, the drow do not merely lurk underground; we have numbers above ground too. And they /will/ find me if I am left to fend for myself."
[21:35:13] <Everest|Llayra> "They will /know/ it's me. I can show you how, in fact."
[21:35:25] <Cygan> "Indeed. Please do."
[21:35:56] <Everest|Llayra> "On second thought, removing my tunic might be a struggle, but at this point you might as well cut it from my flesh with that blade of yours."
[21:36:42] <Cygan> "Will merely lifting your shirt suffice?"
[21:37:06] <Everest|Llayra> "I suppose it would. What, are you squeamish or something?"
[21:37:58] <Cygan> "No. I would merely prefer you not freeze to death if I remove your shirt and cannot provide a replacement by tonight."
[21:38:49] <Everest|Llayra> "Cold is nothing to me, but your call. You're the one with free hands."
[21:39:04] <Cygan> "Okay."
[21:39:19] * Cygan walks over, then lifts his shirt to his armpits.
[21:40:26] <Everest|Llayra> Seren sees dark scrawlings; even darker than the man's skin already is. The dark shapes can be made out as a web, with the largest parts of the artistry spelling "Esprit" in the Elven alphabet.
[21:40:44] <Everest|Llayra> Little bits of black flake off of Esprit's skin as the shirt is lifted.
[21:41:21] <Everest|Llayra> "Isn't it beautiful? Every male in the society gets his own, /unique/ markings."
[21:41:30] <Cygan> "..."
[21:41:36] * Cygan is apalled.
[21:42:00] <Cygan> "Do you know how far the rage of this extends?"
[21:42:27] <Everest|Llayra> "I do not. I've been taught not to concern myself overly much with emotions."
[21:42:38] <Cygan> (Damn typos)
[21:42:45] <Cygan> (That was meant to say range)
[21:42:51] <Everest|Llayra> (Oh.)
[21:42:58] <Everest|Llayra> (One sec)
[21:43:28] <Everest|Llayra> "As I said, /every male/ gets his own birthmark. They're painstakingly applied. It's an intriguing process, I think."
[21:44:12] <Everest|Llayra> "As one brand will not do, a single metal rod is drawn across his flesh as he is tied down. Sometimes it takes hours, if the man is unfortunate enough to have a short name."
[21:44:33] <Cygan> "..."
[21:45:25] <Cygan> "Okay. Are you planning on resuming your mission if I untie you?"
[21:45:58] <Everest|Llayra> "If I had my crossbow in hand? Most likely. As is, I do not particularly like my odds of fighting /anyone/."
[21:46:28] <Cygan> "Indeed."
[21:46:55] <Everest|Llayra> "Where were you going with all this, again? I forgot."
[21:47:00] * Cygan moves to untie his hands.
[21:47:16] * Meophist|Agia grabs her hand.
[21:47:20] <Meophist|Agia> "Hold it."
[21:47:28] <Cygan> "What?"
[21:47:44] <Meophist|Agia> "Are you really thinking of untying him?"
[21:47:56] <Everest|Llayra> "She has a point, Seren."
[21:48:14] <Cygan> "And why not?"
[21:48:25] <Cygan> "I am not untying his feet."
[21:48:31] <Cygan> "He will not run."
[21:48:42] <Meophist|Agia> "..."
[21:48:42] <Cygan> "He does not have access to weapons."
[21:48:57] <Cygan> "All I am doing is providing him with some measure of comfort."
[21:49:08] <Meophist|Agia> "Such comfort can allow him to untie himself."
[21:49:25] <Everest|Llayra> "Why is comfort important? I plan to kill myself."
[21:49:45] <Cygan> "..."
[21:49:48] <Everest|Llayra> "I would have bitten my tongue already if I did not expect you to nurse me back to health."
[21:49:58] <Cygan> "Okay then."
[21:50:03] * Cygan backs away.
[21:50:37] <Meophist|Agia> "What are you planning to do with him Seren?"
[21:50:57] <Cygan> "Two things."
[21:51:17] <Cygan> "One, I am going to find out more about this Drow village."
[21:51:31] <Cygan> "Two, I am going to take him to safety."
[21:52:06] <Meophist|Agia> "To safety? What are you planning?"
[21:52:23] <Everest|Llayra> "Better be damn good safety, if you expect me to comply."
[21:52:35] <Cygan> "It is, indeed."
[21:53:22] <Cygan> "Do you remember how I told you how one score of my Order annihilated an entire Drow subrace?"
[21:53:40] <Everest|Llayra> "For the record, I still don't believe that story."
[21:54:04] <Everest|Llayra> "Too fantastical."
[21:54:17] <Meophist|Agia> "It certainly does sound like a fairy tale."
[21:54:24] <Cygan> "That is okay."
[21:54:33] <Cygan> "I do not care if you have heard it or not."
[21:54:41] <Cygan> "Put it in these terms."
[21:54:52] <Cygan> "Everyone has heard of Demons, correct?"
[21:55:02] <Everest|Llayra> "Not me."
[21:55:10] <Cygan> "..."
[21:55:19] <Cygan> "You're joking."
[21:55:30] <Cygan> "You know what Hell is, and yet not Demons?"
[21:55:35] <Everest|Llayra> "I am not. What use is knowledge of "demons" to a foot soldier?"
[21:55:43] <Everest|Llayra> "I know of "hell" in the metaphorical sense."
[21:55:57] <Everest|Llayra> "The term is used often enough by my superiors that I figured it out from context."

Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.As mentioned earlier, I won't be able to be here tonight. In any case, here's the log from before:
The Jammies D&D Game. Today: Return to the village and meet new characters!
[21:12:35] <Everest|DM> Llayra asks, "So, what do we do now?"
[21:12:55] <INUH|Tramlaw> "We could use a translator before proceeding."
[21:13:15] <Meophist|Agia> "I think I'll need to get some more arrows soon."
[21:13:23] <Meophist|Agia> "I didn't expect to go into so many battles."
[21:13:38] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Agia, I've got a few to spare for now if you want."
[21:14:06] <Everest|DM> "I ought to confess that I think we're in over our heads with this. I don't want to be a part of this anymore."
[21:14:58] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Really? Are you sure?"
[21:15:32] <Meophist|Agia> "...I'll take a few then, Ranger... Zenfyr. I'll get it back once I can get a few more."
[21:15:33] <Everest|DM> "Yes, I'm just about positive."
[21:15:43] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "We could really use your help on this, but if you're sure..."
[21:15:54] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Well, if you're sure. Thanks for the help so far."
[21:16:01] * balrog1911|Zenfyr hands over ten arrows to Agia
[21:16:18] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Hopefully these won't be as unlucky as they've been for me."
[21:16:22] * Meophist|Agia receives arrows of +10 quantity.
[21:16:30] <Everest|DM> "If Agia and Zenfyr want more arrows, and I want to end my involvement, I think we ought to return to the town. We might even find our translator there."
[21:17:01] <Meophist|Agia> "Some of us are injured anyways. The town will be a safer place to rest, considering what's happened here."
[21:17:28] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Fair point. Hopefully we won't get ambushed again."
[21:17:30] <INUH|Tramlaw> "True."
[21:19:26] <Everest|DM> The adventurers return to the village and . . .
[21:19:50] <Meophist|Agia> (What's going on with the drow at the moment?)
[21:20:18] <Everest|DM> (You probably could have left him in the care of the kobolds or goblins. Goblins would be a safer bet).
[21:20:44] <Meophist|Agia> (I was thinking of taking him with us, actually.)
[21:20:52] <Meophist|Agia> (But that might not be the best idea.)
[21:21:06] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "At least I won't have to be civil with goblins for a while..."
[21:21:32] <Meophist|Agia> (Also, we need to loot the shifters.)
[21:21:44] <Everest|DM> (That too)
[21:21:47] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Right. Loot. Loot is good.)
[21:22:31] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (Anything to expand our coffers)
[21:22:55] * Meophist|Agia searches the shifters for anything useful.
[21:22:56] * INUH|Tramlaw heads over to a shifter and searches the corpse.
[21:23:56] <Everest|DM> The shifters, unfortunately, were apparently given no money by their superiors.
[21:24:53] <Meophist|Agia> (I think I'll kinda have to take the drow with us, considering what I offered to it.)
[21:25:02] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Really? Nothing? Argh."
[21:25:12] <INUH|Tramlaw> "How do they expect to run an army like that?"
[21:25:25] <Meophist|Agia> "Assuming they have an army..."
[21:25:42] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Well, they claim to."
[21:25:44] <Everest|DM> Llayra says, "They were probably sent out for a brief scouting operation."
[21:26:04] <Everest|DM> "I'd believe if their superiors didn't want to hand out money for something so minor."
[21:26:27] * Meophist|Agia unties the drow's legs and feet, and ties the rope to her arm.
[21:26:40] <Meophist|Agia> "In any case, you're coming with me for the current while drow."
[21:26:46] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Or they'd have been paid on returning."
[21:26:55] <Meophist|Agia> (Arms are still tied together)
[21:27:16] <Everest|DM> Esprit says, "Oh, fun. Now do I get to see this grand Order of Seren's?"
[21:27:38] <Meophist|Agia> "Who knows. Depends if we can survive that far."
[21:27:57] <INUH|Tramlaw> "We seem to be okay at surviving so far."
[21:28:11] <Everest|DM> "Well, no need to rush, then."
[21:28:31] <Meophist|Agia> "In any case, we're moving to town, so get up and walk with me."
[21:29:05] <Everest|DM> "-sigh- Fine, fine. Not like I have a choice. What else is new?"
[21:29:32] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Nothing, really. Let's move."
[21:29:48] * Meophist|Agia takes Espirit's remaining weapons into her bag first.
[21:30:17] <Meophist|Agia> (Namely the crossbow)
[21:30:56] <Meophist|Agia> (and bolts)
[21:31:14] <Meophist|Agia> (moving to town now, right?)
[21:31:21] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (I'd suppose so)
[21:32:34] <Everest|DM> (In the town, you can buy more arrows at the normal rate, so we can skip over the buying part)
[21:32:39] <Everest|DM> (What matters is . . .)
[21:33:25] <Everest|DM> One of the prominent features of this village, on closer inspection, is a modest church at the center.
[21:34:18] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Where were we hired, anyway?)
[21:34:51] <Everest|DM> (I was guessing we heard people talking and then went to the mayor's office)
[21:34:53] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Stands up, having finished his daily prayers.
[21:35:12] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Alright, today is the day."
[21:36:08] <Everest|DM> (Also, at this point Llayra could be anywhere; should we assume that we took care of the boring, predictable farewells offscreen?)
[21:36:23] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (It wouldnt' really make sense for Zenfyr to go to the church - are they coming out to us or is someone else going to go there?)
[21:36:35] <Meophist|Agia> (I'm guess we're either passing by...)
[21:36:36] <Everest|DM> (Whatever works for them).
[21:36:39] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (probably best that way, Everest)
[21:36:43] <Meophist|Agia> (Or Seren made us go there.)
[21:36:45] <Everest|DM> (But yeah, we'd at least be passing by)
[21:36:54] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Let's just be passing by.)
[21:37:11] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> (I was planning on having him go out to meet the party, provided that he could have heard of them and made plans to offer his assistance.)
[21:37:39] <Everest|DM> (That works)
[21:38:27] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> (Very well)
[21:38:28] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Didn't know there was a church here...d'you reckon they might have someone who could translate for us?"
[21:38:51] <INUH|Tramlaw> "What's a church?"
[21:39:04] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Remember:Tramlaw never left a village of cultists before a week ago.)
[21:39:20] <Meophist|Agia> "A pretty building, sometimes."
[21:39:20] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Composes himself, exits the church, and approaches the party.
[21:39:44] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Um, excuse me..."
[21:39:52] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Place of worship for various religions. And often times, a good place to find people who can help out. Speaking of which...."
[21:40:01] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Ah. I see."
[21:40:13] <INUH|Tramlaw> @Alexander: "Yes?"
[21:40:56] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Hello! It's my understanding that you have been hired to aid my town, and I came to offer my assistance."
[21:41:35] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Yeah, that's us."
[21:43:22] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Considering how much trouble seems to like us, assistance would be nice."
[21:43:44] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "I... um, I've got years of training as a healer. Oh, and I can speak celestial too! I don't suppose your group could use someone like me?"
[21:43:45] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Yeah, we could use some help. And someone just left the group."
[21:43:52] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Oh, healing is good."
[21:43:58] <INUH|Tramlaw> "We tend to need that."
[21:44:20] <Meophist|Agia> "Can you speak draconic?"
[21:45:12] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Unfortunately not... but I know a lot about religion! If you let me tag along, you'll never have to worry about the undead again!"
[21:45:35] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Well, regardless of the draconic thing, we could use your help."
[21:45:46] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Don't suppose you happen to know someone who does."
[21:46:00] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "I don't think I've ever run into undead...but either way, yes, your help would be appreciated."
[21:46:40] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "There's another cleric at my church who may be able to speak Draconic, but I'm not sure where she is right now..."
[21:46:57] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Oh. Oh, well. We'll find someone."
[21:47:06] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Either way, if you'll accept my help, I'd be more than honored to aid you in your endeavors."
[21:47:31] <INUH|Tramlaw> "I'm fine with it."
[21:48:36] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Wonderful! So is that it? Do you need to take a vote or something?"
[21:48:50] <Meophist|Agia> "I'm fine with it, whatever, a healer couldn't hurt."
[21:48:57] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Well I don't think anyone's going to say no."
[21:49:28] <Zersk|Felgrove> "Sure, why not?"
[21:49:37] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "And besides, as Agia said, we are in need of a healer, considering the ease with which we seem to get injured."
[21:49:41] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> sorry sorry sorry
[21:49:48] <Everest|DM> (#Jammies OOC
[21:49:53] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> #jammiesooc
[21:50:46] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Excellent! I'm not much in a fight, but if you ever need any sort of medical attention, I'm always on call!"
[21:50:53] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Has joined the party.
[21:51:20] <Zersk|Felgrove> (Da-da-da-daaa-da-da-dududaaaaa)
[21:51:21] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Well, then, I guess we'll need to fill you in on our progress so far?"
[21:51:55] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Oh, that would be most helpful."
[21:52:49] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Well, we've made friends with the goblins and kobolds, but haven't been able to communicate our plans to attack the orcs to the kobolds due to the language barrier."
[21:52:59] <INUH|Tramlaw> "We've made enemies of the Orcs and the Shifters."
[21:53:18] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "To be fair, the Shifters were set on killing us anyway."
[21:53:24] <Meophist|Agia> "And there may be drows after us. Other than this guy anyways."
[21:53:43] <INUH|Tramlaw> (I thought we didn't bring the prisoner.)
[21:54:06] <Meophist|Agia> (I kinda have to after what I told him.)
[21:54:16] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Ah. Right.)
[21:54:19] <Meophist|Agia> (And he's kinda tied to Agia at the moment)
[21:54:35] <INUH|Tramlaw> "You know, I'm kind of surprised we haven't gotten more weird looks for dragging this guy around."
[21:54:45] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Is this normal in most villages?"
[21:54:47] * balrog1911|Zenfyr shrugs
[21:54:50] <Meophist|Agia> "I doubt it."
[21:55:00] <Meophist|Agia> "I'm a little surprised myself, but whatever."
[21:55:06] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Well, considering the turf war and everything..."
[21:55:08] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "It's probably because they know we're helping..."
[21:55:10] <Everest|DM> (People might know that you're the designated adventuring party and not be surprised that you'd have a prisoner of war)
[21:55:23] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Makes sense.)
[21:55:23] <Everest|DM> (They could be giving looks of contempt towards him, but be hiding it).
[21:56:11] <Meophist|Agia> "In any case, you said you know somebody who might know draconic?"
[21:56:47] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Which would be incredibly helpful."
[21:57:08] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Yeah. Language barriers are annoying."
[21:57:46] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Well, there's another cleric in town who seems to be pretty educated. I wouldn't be surprised if she knew how to speak Draconic."
[21:57:56] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "I believe her name is Tamsin."
[21:58:38] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "If you'll lead the way, we'd be glad to follow and meet her."
[21:58:57] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Sounds good."
[21:58:57] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Very well."
[21:59:40] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "And provided she isn't able to help us, I know a spell which can break most language barriers, though I haven't prayed for it today."
[21:59:56] <INUH|Tramlaw> "That could also be useful."
[22:00:36] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "There's a spell for that? Wow."
[22:01:31] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Enters the church
[22:01:38] * Meophist|Agia follows.
[22:01:44] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Hey Tamsin, are you in here?"
[22:01:51] * Loni-Jay|Tamsin Stands up
[22:02:00] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "Yes, Alex?"
[22:02:34] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "I just joined an adventuring group! Oh, and they need someone who knows Draconic. Can you help?"
[22:03:23] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "I know draconic, yes. An adventuring group?"
[22:03:55] <INUH|Tramlaw> "That'd be us."
[22:04:00] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Hello. I'm Tramlaw."
[22:04:02] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Yeah, they were hired by the town to help take care of this turf war. They've also kidnapped some random Drow, and I think they need your help to talk to him."
[22:04:25] <Everest|DM> "No, I'm quite capable of speaking the Common tongue."
[22:04:25] <Meophist|Agia> "We don't actually need help to talk to the drow..."
[22:04:27] <INUH|Tramlaw> "No, it's not for the Drow. We can talk to him."
[22:04:31] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Actually, it's the kobolds we really need help with."
[22:04:37] <Everest|DM> "I have merely had no need to speak up till now."
[22:04:46] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "Oh, hello - I'm Tamsin. Who do you need to talk to that speaks draconic?"
[22:05:06] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> (damn, ninjad)
[22:05:14] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Kobolds. We've befriended them, but want to discuss an alliance of us, them and the goblins against the orcs."
[22:05:48] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "So far, we've managed to convince them we're friendly with creative use of an orc head and spear. But that's about it."
[22:06:05] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "Well, I should be able to help with that..."
[22:06:28] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Ah, severed Orc heads. Is there nothing you can't do with them?"
[22:06:44] <Zersk|Felgrove> "Befriend Orcs?"
[22:06:53] <Meophist|Agia> "Despite what you might think, they don't actually taste all that great."
[22:06:57] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "With the right Orcs, even that works."
[22:07:07] <Zersk|Felgrove> "True, I suppose."
[22:07:10] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Does it count as friendship if they're just too scared to be your enemy?"
[22:07:32] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "We're getting sidetracked though."
[22:07:39] <Zersk|Felgrove> "Hmm, yes."
[22:07:44] <Zersk|Felgrove> "Anyhow!"
[22:08:24] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "... you won't expect me to be beheading anyone, will you?"
[22:08:36] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "No, no. We can take care of that just fine."
[22:08:42] <Zersk|Felgrove> "Heh, no. Of course not."
[22:08:52] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Only if you want to. And only orcs."
[22:09:00] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Mostly we're trying to avoid getting into situations where we have to resort to beheading, poorly as that may be going."
[22:09:03] <INUH|Tramlaw> "And possibly shifters."
[22:09:18] <INUH|Tramlaw> "And drow, if they start coming after us."
[22:09:35] <Meophist|Agia> "..."
[22:09:47] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> ".. you sure have a lot of enemies."
[22:10:00] <INUH|Tramlaw> "We've got friends too. Goblins and kobolds."
[22:10:04] <Meophist|Agia> "Trust us, we weren't trying to make enemies."
[22:10:05] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Isn't it exciting, Tamsin?"
[22:10:22] <Zersk|Felgrove> Felgrove shrugs. "I guess that's just how it is in this world."
[22:10:26] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "At least we're not bored"
[22:10:55] <INUH|Tramlaw> "It pays well. Especially when we have enemies."
[22:11:10] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "Exciting? Yes, I suppose it is. So, when do you need me?"
[22:11:27] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "As soon as you can come along, I'd assume."
[22:11:30] <Meophist|Agia> "Hrmm... should we get a rest before heading out again?"
[22:11:57] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Well, we rangers need to grab some arrows as well. So a night of rest wouldn't be too bad either."
[22:12:02] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Resting might be good. I'm still a bit on the hurt side."
[22:12:32] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "You don't need any healing?"
[22:12:47] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Oh yeah, we're great at healing!"
[22:13:21] <INUH|Tramlaw> "I guess I could use some. You can replenish your healing overnight, so it wouldn't be wasted."
[22:16:14] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Casts Cure Light Wounds on Tramlaw for 6 HP.
[22:16:49] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> (Ah, okay)
[22:16:51] <INUH|Tramlaw> "Thanks. I feel much better."
[22:19:45] <Everest|DM> (Seren's still at 4 HP, I believe. Might wanna have Tamsin heal her)
[22:21:10] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> .roll 1d8 +5
[22:21:11] <feepbot> Loni-Jay|Tamsin: (d8 : 5) + 5: 10
[22:21:25] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Nice.)
[22:21:30] <Meophist|Agia> (That's more than full, I believe.)
[22:21:38] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (it is)
[22:21:41] * Loni-Jay|Tamsin casts Cure Light Wounds on Seren for 10 HP
[22:23:50] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (so do we just assume to be resting the night now?)
[22:24:05] <Meophist|Agia> (At the local inn, I would presume.)
[22:24:12] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Can we also buy stuff while we're here?)
[22:24:27] <Meophist|Agia> (I think we should do that before the inn)
[22:24:36] <Meophist|Agia> (We could do it after too, I guess.)
[22:37:15] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> Diplomacy check: .roll d20+6
[22:37:15] <feepbot> Randomtropeloser|Alexander: (d20 : 3) + 6: 9
[22:37:28] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander approaches the drow prisoner
[22:37:35] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Hi... mister drow!"
[22:38:38] <Everest|DM> ". . . Hello. Anything in particular you'd like to discuss? I have all day."
[22:38:47] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Want to be friends?"
[22:39:30] <Meophist|Agia> "..."
[22:39:58] <Everest|DM> "I don't make friends. Why do I need a friend?"
[22:40:57] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Well, life gets pretty boring without them, for one."
[22:41:35] <Everest|DM> "Does it?"
[22:45:07] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Yeah, having other people to spend time with is what makes it!"
[22:45:42] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "After all, even if you come across the most stunning revelation, write the most hilarious joke, or go on the greatest adventure of all time, without someone to share it with, it might as well be worthless!"
[22:46:07] <Everest|DM> "Makes what what, exactly, mister cleric? Do you know /anything/ about my people?"
[22:46:13] * balrog1911|Zenfyr whispers to Agia
[22:46:23] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "This....isn't going well, is it?"
[22:46:29] * Meophist|Agia whispering back, "Not really."
[22:46:42] * INUH|Tramlaw resists the urge to laugh.
[22:46:52] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "Well no, I've never met a drow before..."
[22:47:06] <Everest|DM> "A word of advice, mister cleric: sometimes it's best to keep one's mouth shut until they learn the context of a situation. Just a thought."
[22:47:24] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "...Oh, okay then."
[22:47:31] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Fidgets
[22:47:45] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> Alex... just drop it.
[22:47:54] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> "I'm going to go meditate now..."
[22:48:04] <Everest|DM> "What, scared of the little man tied in ropes?"
[22:48:13] <Everest|DM> "Fine, go ahead and meditate."
[22:48:24] * Randomtropeloser|Alexander Goes into the church, meditates.
[22:48:36] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> (And with that, I must take my leave of you.)
[22:48:46] <Everest|DM> (Okay. See you around. :))
[22:48:53] <Randomtropeloser|Alexander> (Bye!)
[22:48:54] <INUH|Tramlaw> (Later.)
[22:49:01] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> (take care)
[22:49:50] <balrog1911|Zenfyr> "Well, I don't see this relationship going further..."
[22:51:12] <Loni-Jay|Tamsin> "By the way..."
[22:51:17] * Loni-Jay|Tamsin lowers her voice

Glad to hear that.
I was slightly worried that Nothing might come off as the stereotypical "emo jackass with a cliche Dark and Troubled Past". Though I'm making sure he isn't like that, mostly by having one of his motivations to be "living" again. By that, he means that he wants to move on and feel emotions without repressing them like he always does.
