Hmm, okay. I guess the Empire's technology would be about on the level of the Dwarf-Gnome alliance then?
There's about one or two races of Elves in the nation. There's also a large minority of Goblins, which would explain why my character would know Goblin.
I'll make a write-up right now.
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅOkay, here I go.
The Elven Empire
The Mighty Elven Empire of His Grace and Highness Lord Emperor Adayulus VII of Terekhna (Known as Casodan by its inhabitants) is the stronghold of the northwestern Elven race. It covers a multitude of islands, though the majority of its area is within the archipelago that it began on. Still, it covers about twenty islands. The inhabitants are mainly elves, and as such the national language is Elven (or at least, a dialect of such).
The Geography of the Empire
The Empire comprises of approximately twenty islands. The main island of the Empire is Terekhna, where the Capital is situated. Most of the island are in the Great Chain of Islands, which consists of about fifteen islands. The islands are largely volcanic, and while the south is not in much danger of eruptions in the near millenia, the northern island are very active. Because of this, the islands are very fertile and are perfect for farming. This reason is why the islands have had a long history among sapient races.
Beyond that, the Empire has gained control of a number of smaller island around this. It also has its sights on newer lands.
Here are some of the islands and a small description of each.
Terekhna: The island where the Empire started. Is long and curved in shape. Has two mountains, one in the north, and one in the south, which are both dormant volcanoes. Between these two mountains, there is forest and farmland. After that comes the Capital of the Empire, huge and sprawling across the island's coast and centre. It has a population of one million, consisting 97% of elves, 2.3% of goblins, and 0.7% of other races, such as humans. The Emperor resides here, watching over his subjects with his commanding gaze. The city below is busy with nobles and such going back and forth on government business. The centre of the city is pristine, with marble road and lamps along the streets made of the highest glass. Among these streets are some of the more expensive inns and shops. Surrounding the centre is the middle class part of the city, not as nice, but still comfortable. To the east is the slums, filled with disease and poverty. People roam the streets, fighting for what little food there is. The sky is smoggy from the factories nearby, and whatever jobs there are are horrible and low-paying. Beyond that is the farmlands. They are quiet and quaint. During the day, you can see the farmers taking care of their fields or watching their flocks of animals. This part is much quieter than the city. Beyond that is the forests. These lands are filled with strange, sometimes dangerous animals. Adventurers would do best to be prepared when they come through here.
Ronekhna: Ronekhna is and island to the south of Terekhna. It is shaped slightly like a bowl, with a ring of mountains covering its western, southern, and southeastern sides. The northeastern coast is flat, covered in long, sandy, beaches. The inside of the island is covered in lush forests, with a lake at the center of it. At the northernmost point sits the port city of Toralesk. In that city is one of the largest libraries in the continent, with hundreds of books, some ages old. The library sits at the west of the city. In the east is the Empire's warehouses. Here you can hear the clanging of hammers, hear the work of industry. To the north is the harbour, more quieter than the rest of the city. The seagulls cry out from the rolling waves of the ocean, and the smell of the sea is in the air. The buildings here are small, but cozy. In the north is the Market Square, where people go around buying and selling goods from the sea, and trading for foreign commodities. To the south, beyond the city is the woods. They are clear, the sun shining through the canopy of the trees. It's more peaceful here, though the odd monster can be found here roaming the ground. Past that comes the lake in the middle of the island. There are few houses and such here. It is said that there are dangerous serpents in the freshwater lake. They are said to be quite powerful, so the native folk do their best to stay away from its waters if they can.
Aredanal: Aredanal is the military centre of the Empire. It is a giant caldera. The actual island is a thin ring around the inner part, which is all seawater. There is a small passage to the south which connects the caldera to the sea. On the east of the island is the military grounds. The parade ground dominate this part. The barracks are to the north of them. To the south is the armoury, with all sorts of weapons. Here, the finest troops of the Empire are trained.
There are many more islands, some holding interesting, yet unexplored treasures and mysteries.
The History of the Empire
The people of the Empire have existed there for thousands of years. The earliest records are about four thousand years ago, when Terekhna was first settled by native goblins. Soon after, elves appeared on the island. There were bouts of fighting between the two groups at first, but soon they managed to live on the same island without killing each other. Eventually the Elven town became a city. It was a centre of trade, being in the middle of the route of two kingdoms.
The Empire started on Terekhna with the capital. With the death of the King Soretalus in the year 124, the throne was succeeded by his son, Prince Ayadulus the III. He named himself emperor of the Elven Empire, and set his sights on expansion. Winning over the favour of the people, he soon expanded the Empire, taking control of a few more islands.
With the construction of the steam engine, the expansion of the empire rapidly accelerated. It soon covered the entire archipelago.
Currently, the Empire is facing some troubles. It is facing internal pressure from the uprising of the people over poor living conditions in the slums. Also, there has been quite a bit of illegal emigration from some of the northern islands, possible because of racism and neglect.
The Trade Relations of the Empire
The Empire has trade agreements with multiple other nations, being in the centre of multiple trade nations. They generally sell commodities such as native-growing fruits and sea-creatures in return for metals such as steel and luxuries such as spices. They currently have a trade agreement with the nation to the south of them, allowing free trade between the two nations.
Religions of the Empire
By far the largest religion in the Empire would be the Church of Skolara, the Goddess of Machinery and Fish.
A smaller religion would be the native religion of the Goblins.
In the north the religion of Khirme, god of volcanoes and agriculture is prevalent.
The Lore of the Island
Much of the lore and legend of the islands have existed since ancient times. Some include the story of the great sea-monster Taraenuka, which is a giant beast that was said to have razed villages. Currently it is said to be slumbering at the bottom of the sea, waiting to rise again.
Another story is of the mechanical guardian said to reside in the northern mountain of Terekhna. It is said to be gaurding something, but nobody knows what.
Aside from that, many tales dot the islands, waiting for an interested listener.
The Steam Engine.
In the city of Toralesk lies a very interesting invention that is taking the Empire by storm. It is the steam engine. The invention harnesses pressurized steam to use for energy. It has been applied to almost everything, mostly industry and naval engineering.
The steam engine was invented by Teradanus Erovus Hephaestus in 402. The invention seems to be having an unprecedented effect on the Empire, possibly leading to a revolution.
So that's it for now. What do you guys think?

Actually, I'm writing up part 1, but got distracted..
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.

Whew! Finally caught up.
So I was wondering for the Elven Empire. Can I have them cover multiple islands? Being an empire and all?
