I'm kinda meh on both. I don't like the current on Cute Bruiser because she looks like an adult, rather than a ten year old (or however old she's supposed to be]]. I don't like the suggestion, it get's "cute" but really doesn't say "bruiser" to me.
Fight smart, not fair. The stance and look alone doesn't say she is ready to rumble?
Anyway here is her actually striking someone.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!It's more than just being a fighter, it implies a preference toward Mighty Glacier and brawler style combat.
Fight smart, not fair. It's also supposed to be, specifically, a kid (a lot of the examples seem to forget this part and have grown women.) Not sure how young Raso's example is supposed to be exactly, but she looks young enough, probably (I prefer the image from the OP.) Bubbles is good too.
Jet-a-Reeno!It needs to be a kid, or a very small young woman. So it can be an adult woman, but she's got to be noticeably smaller and younger-looking than the rest of the cast. Bubbles isn't the bruiser on the team. That would be Buttercup and she's the least cute of the three. She's the only one with a bruiser fighting style at all though.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickShe is in high school (I think first year) and decided to toughen up after an attempted rape in middle school via boxing but still is Tsundere for cute animals and the main guy. But is very good in a brawl (the main guy usually supports her from a distance via some hand slingshot thingy.) Easily the toughest girl in a school where everyone is based off a Fairy Tale.
Her Fairy Tale Motif is that she is the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood (red is her BFF) and the main guy is the hunter.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Why not have all 3 Powerpuff Girls? Buttercup is The Big Guy, but I think all of them are capable of being bruisers.
? They're flying bricks who use good old fisticuffs. I didn't see anything in the description that would disqualify them.
First off, Flying Brick != Bruiser. The Bruiser fighting style is not fly at someone at high speed, which is how most of their unarmed attacks work. Second off, they fight just as much if not more with Beam Attacks, which really aren't this trope.

Don't watch if you don't like Tsundere types.

You're right, this particular trope doesn't define Bruiser as well as the rest of the Bruiser family of tropes. From the definitions on the other pages, it's a generally a strength over speed fighting style, more boxing than high speed martial arts. It's far more what you'd expect of the big guy. She's a bit more erratic flailing. It's effective. It's just not Bruiser.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAnd Ryoko in the top image is in a full boxing stance with the Neko Neko Gloves ready to kick ass (which is why I support the image so much)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The Power Puff Girls just don't fit the trope. Using lightning fast speed to convey the power of your punches doesn't make you a bruiser. If it did, then The Flash would qualify for any of the Bruiser tropes.
I will see if I can grab a scene from the OP when I get home from work tonight then. (I still think the stance is perfect)

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:

She looks evil not cute also the trope states that the weapon of choice is usually Good Old Fisticuffs.
My suggestion for a new image is This
◊.. Nothing says Cute and Bruiser than a girl with cute kitty boxing gloves in an actual stance ready to beat the crap of of ya.
