I can see a set up, son comes in with award or something to tell father, father says something like "who are you again?", next panel, kids got a really crushed expression on his face.
Fight smart, not fair.Maybe one of those Son...I am disappoint pictures or comics?
Still need More Dakka, and it's about time to start a real WAAAAAGH.The current one works for me, the boy looks disappointed, and the father looks distant. Even literally.
For the millionth time, we are not always looking for a picture that would demonstrate every possible aspect of a trope. (If we could have that, we wouldn't even need a description, just a lone picture, and below, the examples for the perfectly demonstrated trope.)
It just needs to help the page, by showing how it is visually portrayed, and it already does that.

^Acording to the JAFAAC rules a picture the picture should be understood by itself. If the picture is only understood because the title , then it isn't doing a good job.
I can think of many pictures that would fit better. For instance using a picture of krunk dreaming that his father will give him a thumb up.

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.
No, it isn'. The JAFAAC rule says that pictures shouldn't be just a random picture of of someone who is also an example.
As Fast Eddie said: "A picture can need a caption to make the final leap, as long as it tells the story right up to the point where the caption closes the gap."
I'm not saying that it's the absolute best picture, but so far, no one proposed a better one, and this one isn't broken either.
The proper ratio for caption weight to picture would be that the picture is the entire set up and caption is the punchline. It works a lot better than the caption as the set up with the picture as the punchline because it'd be like telling the punchline then the joke.
Fight smart, not fair.Another option would be a caption of Austin Powers' to do list in Goldmember which ends with "Earn Daddy's respect".
Everything can be found on the Internet... except common sense.

In the picture it looks just Like they are just being Indiferent /angry towards one and another. The caption is only helpful if you are an evangelion fan and it really doesn't explain the picture nor the trope well.
I have only seen 10 episodes of the series an shinji is a very good example. But the picture isn't
As a suggestion I think a picture of krunk (from the emperors new groove )daydreaming about having his father giving him a thumb up would fit better.
