On what basis? That finding doesn't surprise me at all. I suspect many trans have hard-to-detect intersexing conditions, and a very large proportion of intersexed people are asexual.
If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

As for the OP, reading it again: No, it's punishing people for automatically assuming the other person is lying, rather than taking their word for it on a deeply personal issue that they would have little motivation to lie about. *
Edit: Wait, requiring people? No, nothing is requiring you to think this way. It's not a law. It's just socially discouraged because it's associated with hateful (i.e. socially disruptive) people who cover their distaste for different people with "clever" arguments.
