I have no idea what to call this. I mean, it's not Western Animation, because Australia isn't in the West, and it's definitely not anime... perhaps we need a new group of tropes for "Oceanic Animation" or something.

Anyway, anyone familiar with Australian Animation? I really like Adam Elliot's stop-motion films - Uncle, Cousin, Brother, Harvie Krumpet and Maryand Max.

If you really want to make a page on "Australian Animation" and put titles there. I mean there's a lot of Soviet era cartoons listed at tvtropes but nobody has even thought about making a page for it.

Austrailia has a western culture, as it is western because it is a colony of the U.K. see Eastern Animation.

I remember watching blinky bill(it's about a koala) as a kid it had its moments and then kept getting weirder when they started travelling around the world

happy feet( a movie about a dancing penguin), the magic pudding(I liked that one) and I suppose the owls of ga'hoole could be considered Australian despite the director being American and some cast being British

Please come the day when all cartoons are listed together in one medium and separated only by genre or format.

Just list Australian animation as Eastern Animation and point out that it is Australian if you feel the need. Do the same with Russian, Korean, and all other non western animation shows. Lets just be like the world and call the west most of what's west of Russia.

That's why I prefer to list animation by nationality. I don't think sticking non Western and non Japanese animation into a "size fits all" page is a great idea, unless it's just a simple index.

Personal favourite: The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello, which really needs to be a feature or a series:
