It Gets Easier is the more realistic trope even if the person says It Never Gets Any Easier. Doesn't matter what it is whether it's working out domestic problems such as paying bills or applying for a credit card, firing a rifle at someone in war, or your first day on the job, the first time is always the hardest.

The trope is related to killing, not domestic examples. Major Tom is drawing a connection between killing and mundane activities in order to refute the idea that It Never Gets Any Easier.

I understand it now, it gets easier overtime and I sometimes frightens me although I never killed a man before.

I read the trope pages for both It Gets Easier and It Never Gets Easier, I learned that this is a truth in television but I got to ask all the medical, military and law enforcement tropers, does it really become easier to swallow such matters?
