Machine Head's Unto the Locust drops at the end of September.
After hearing "The Locust", I don't really have any hopes for it. Metal Hammer's early bird review
reads like fanboy gushing, which doesn't help its case.
Although from what little you can infer from this "review", it appears that Machine Head are now alarmingly veering to prog territory.

Why did I have a hunch that you were going to respond to that part?
It alarms me mainly because I have no idea how shit like string arrangements and choirs is going to fly with Machine Head's style. They have proved that they can write well-structured songs that clock over seven minutes, sure, but...

I mentioned Danielson way back on the first page, yet only recently acquired the new album. Well, Best of Gloucester County met and defied my expectations in equal measure, and I love it.
A month and a half. New Nightwish and Vildhjarta's debut, almost at once.
There are snakes in the grass, so we'd better go hunting!Coming up in the next month:
- Russian Circles
- Empros (Oct 24/5th)
- Sigur Ros - Inni (Live DVD, Nov 7/8th)
- Oneohtrix Point Never
- Replica (Nov 7/8th)
Not bad, I think the rate of amazing stuff coming out is beginning to slow down a bit now though...
Listen to Music with Tropers at The Troper Turntable!Word has reached my ears of some stuff that might be coming out next year that I'm looking forward to. Namely, Brian May and Roger Taylor have announced that they're putting together a new album using some of Freddie Mercury's hithero unreleased vocal tracks, and they also hope to release the duets that Freddie recorded with Michael Jackson back in the 1980s.
I'm not sure what to think of the former, but the latter is a very interesting prospect.

Obviously I'd heard Baggy Trousers and thought it was a good bit of cheesy drunken party funtimes. Then I heard Nightboat To Cairo and was like "Okay, this band are seriously pretty awesome".
