Did the anime start before the year 2000?
After 2010?
Did it start on an even numbered year?

The anime did not start before 2000.
The anime did not start after 2010.
The anime started in an even year.
Did it start in 2000? 2004? 2008?
Are the two poles exactly the same length?
Is the hint related to optical illusions?
Is either the anime or the song related to optical illusions in any way?
Well, it is a Jeff Goldblum Logic hint, so I asking out-of-the-box questions about it like that appears to be the way to go to figure it out.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. Was this a TV broadcast anime?
somethingWent to bed. Time to answer questions!
The anime did not start in 2000
It did not start in 2004
It did not start in 2008
The poles may or may not be of the same length. I don't know, and it's not relevant to the hint.
The hint does not refer to optical illusions.
I don't believe the show refers to optical illusions either.
The hint is related-indirectly-to the anime.
Is the anime set in:
A Medieval European Fantasy or equivalent Fantasy Counterpart Culture? -Yes
a historical Eastern / Japanese setting or equivalent Fantasy Counterpart Culture? -No
The present day? -Yes <Dun dun DUN!> But mostly no.
This was a TV Broadcast anime.

did the anime start in 2006? 2010? (if it's not either of these, then it has to be 2002)
Judging by the other answers this is probably no, but... Is the song from Gintama or its sequel?
edited 10th May '12 10:50:05 AM by Zfish9
The anime started in 2006
BONUS HINT: Because I don't want you guys to just brute force your way through this by ignoring the hint, I should say that you guys were right to pick up on the Kojiro Sasaki point.
However, what do we know about Kojiro Sasaki? What is he famous for?

Does the anime have samurai in it?
Is the anime about Kendo?
Is it a historical series?
My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]No Samurai
No Kendo (though I guess there's a katana? I think?)
It's not historical.
is Musashi related to the anime?
You could say that he is-it's what the picture hint is related to.
Is the song GHOST BUSTERZ?
Glitter?
Style?
Yes, they are all from the best anime ever made

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]Ha, there's a Musashi anime?
No, it's none of those, nor is it from said anime.
Hmmm. Still have no idea.
Is it an adaptation of a:
- Manga?
- Light Novel?
- Videogame / Visual Novel?

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.
That anime is famous for being terrible, intentionally or otherwise. I thought the clothes drying pole was used as a substitute for a katana as a lampshade on the show's overall QUALITY.

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]An adaptation of light novels.
Hmmm. You didn't answer rrw's question, btw.
Anyway, is it:
- First Kiss?
- My True Feelings? (That's the Wikipedia entry - ANN has it as The Real Feeling.)
- Is it even from the Zero No Tsukaima franchise?
edited 10th May '12 11:28:40 AM by Pyrite
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. It's an opening from Zero No Tsukaima
You can probably figure out what the connection is now that you know it's about Masashi.
It's neither of those two songs.
