Is it an adaption of a light novel? Visual Novel? Video Game?

Visual Novel? Yes.

What do you think?
I think that I'm starting to run out of creative ways to ask the question
Was the anime done by Kyoto Animation?
Was the Visual Novel made by Key/visual arts?
[edit] ...Was I just ninja'd?

The problem with those creative ways to ask the question, is that it makes the person answering to come up with creative ways to answer it.
Was the anime done by Kyoto Animation? Yes.
Was the Visual Novel made by Key/visual arts? Yes.
(unfortunately, I've only thing I've seen by Key and Kyoto is CLANNAD, so it's just WMG from here on out from me)
Is it Torch?
Is it Last Regrets?

It is unfortunate that you haven't seen Kanon, that is an absolutely brilliant show.
Is it Torch? No.
Is it Last Regrets? No.

I'll add it to my to watch list on MAL.
Not sure if these are it, Kyoto didn't make the season that had these songs (according to MAL anyway) and they're the last English songs I could find (Unless the beetles made a song in japanese, or one of the translations of the songs is one letter off). Air (also haven't seen) only had 13 episodes, so...
Florescence? Flower?

Is it a fantasy?

It is adapted from a manga.

@Pokenatic:
The first season aired in 2010 and I usually would use the airdate of the first season when talking about when the anime first aired.
That was the one that got me. Well, that, and the fact you said it wasn't a video game / VN adaptation, a question I asked specifically for Milky Holmes (what is it adapted from, anyway, if it isn't one of those? Because you definitely said it was an adaptation).
Anyway:
Does the song share its title with a Beatles song?
Does the song mention beetles (as in the insects)?
Is the song about walruses?
