Is it from Urusei Yatsura? It's woth a try.
Does the series use Spanish naming conventions for characters? No
Is it an adaptation? Yes
Is it Cloud Age Symphony from Last Exile? (Okay, that was really random.) No, but you will need a similarly "random" answer like that to win the round, such is my logic for this hint.
Is it from Urusei Yatsura? No

Is it in any concievable way related to spain?
How about Urusei Yatsura?
How about Rumiko Takahashi?
Is it in any concievable way related to spain? If you are talking about the anime, then no. If you are talking about the hint, then it depends on how you look at it.
How about Urusei Yatsura? Yes, the hint is related to Urusei Yatsura in some way.
How about Rumiko Takahashi? No
One final hint by me: Project Ako is a sequel to Urusei Yatsura.
The OVA? The movie?

The OVA? The movie? Neither. As I said many times, these hints require a lot of out of the box thinking to get.
Are you A FILTHY LIAR?!?!
Are you A FILTHY LIAR?!?! Have you tried entering "Urusei Yatsura Project A-ko" (without quotation marks) into Google yet?
I consider using Google cheating.
And I'm not getting anything particularly revealing. Unless it has to do with Watermelon?
Not all google searches are created equal don'tcha know.

In that case, have ever been on to Urusei Yatsura's entry on The Other Wiki? If you have, have you noticed something on the top of the page, directly underneath the title?
I would never violate my One Wiki policy and use Wikipedia!
Is the band from Glasgow?
Can we get a list too?

Is the band from Glasgow? No, but you are catching on!
And here is the list.
Hint 1: Those obnoxious aliens aren't from Spain
Hint 2: Bagpipes
Hint 3: Project Ako is a sequel to Urusei Yatsura

Is there an Android on the series? Is it listed on Artificial Humans? Ridiculously Human Robots?
I'm back, and I can see where the hint is going... but we're still nowhere close to the answer.
Is the focus of the anime on
Is the song
Is the anime produced by GONZO?
Is there an Android on the series? Is it listed on Artificial Humans? Ridiculously Human Robots? No, no and no, but since you are so close, I will tell you that the series features at least one Hollywood Cyborg.
a Cool Ship? No
Humongous Mecha? No
The Power of Rock / Idol Singers? (Yep, throwing this one out for shits and giggles.) No
sung by a band? Yes
is sung by a female? Yes (the singer in said band is female)
Is the anime produced by GONZO? No
So I'll just list every anime in the SF anime and manga page....
Is the anime?
Air Gear No
Come, I know you can do better than randomly guessing. The anime in question appears on the Hollywood Cyborg page as well as the Science Fiction Anime and Manga one.
problem is that the set of one is an intersecting set of the other... So this still would lead to that....
P.S. I'll be out buying some materials for a project. Will return much later...

You really love watching us squirm, don't you?
...Is it Gunslinger Girl's OP, "The Light Before We Land" by The Delgados? (Hollywood Cyborg, Science Fiction Anime and Manga, Spanish-sounding name - named after a Spanish cyclist - of a group from Motherwell, which is the link to "Urusei Yatsura (band)" which eventually became "Projekt A-ko" - which is Glaswegian, both discovered by John Peel... Yes, I'm going off the Wikipedia article.)
Because regardless of the result, my current emotion is linked to the album which this track is taken from. Hint: it's HATE.

And your reasoning on the hint(s) was right too, after a massive nudge by me. The bagpipes hint was because bagpipes have a strong association with Scotland, and wasn't quite as obvious as some other items linked to Scotland (haggis, caber tossing, kilts, the Loch Ness Monster etc.) would be.
The ironic thing is, if I said Italy instead of Spain, the round would have finished much earlier, probably around the time when you asked about the naming conventions, even though the hint wouldn't have made any sense if I did that.

(I could've sworn that one of Grain's original rules was that hints shouldn't be overly convoluted, but I can't find it there any more. Guess he gave up. Besides, this is no longer Pyrite logic, this is squarely Jeff Goldblum territory! )
Let me think of something and I'll get back to you all.

I promise that the next song will be much easier, OK?
Eh, don't worry about it. I'm not really mad (in spite of what I'm posting), that's just me indulging my Large Ham tendencies. At least it wasn't as bad as that Vocaloid / "1001 Nights" incident.
Its canonicity... is questionable. Its legitimacy... is debatable. Its origin... is inscrutable. It is... this song.
Variant Rules: No questions on air dates, episode length or series length.
