Sorry... I was a bit busy with sleep and house chores... Sunday you see?

  • The anime is a Twelve Episode Anime. 13 actually until it got a sequel...
  • The studio that produced the anime can be found on Names To Know In Anime.
  • The song is God Knows.tongue

  • The anime is a Fantasy anime.
  • The anime is a Science Fiction anime.
  • The anime is a Slice Of Life anime. Arguably because it happened in a school

  • The song is an OP.
  • The anime is a movie.
  • The anime is part of the franchise 07th Expansion. Nice try.

  • The use of colored text is just for fun and a tactic. If you dismiss observing the color of the text you are reading you will read a statement that is positive. Hence you will read something that is affirmed to be true. I did this because out of all the tactics to make the game harder, this is the best I can think of. Also a second hint since I just found out that the first one can have double meanings:
  • "Frankly I don't like Stupid people that takes exams, the freaking exam itself and the imaginary friends that appear when I'm high during exams."
  • "Then again having cake and Coke and ice cream, while taking the test wasn't so bad. I mean it's Cartesian plane: x and y and z..."

  • The anime has chess motifs.
  • The anime is an adaptation.

  • I was at work yesterday and got home late, hence I was asleep until noon today
  • I am not Edmania. Check my profile in a Cosmic Break Fan Forum "Sticky Keys"

  • The song is Baka Go Home.
  • The song is Hare Tokidoki Egao.
  • Judging from my research, the Purple Truth is used in Umineko as a player equivalent of the Red Truth, which is as per Spirit's and Tomu's explanation... but what the heck do I know?
  • "will edmania gonna answer?" is another meme from this game.

  • The song is Baka Go Home. I kinda wanted to give it away when I found out I won't be here since yesterday evening

  • BTW: Judging from my research, the Purple Truth is used in Umineko as a player equivalent of the Red Truth. Surprised me that you do research...

Hint: The "X and Y and Z" format of the hints link to how the show name their episode... Also the series' title...

As previous posts have shown, I dedicate a disproportionate amount of brain power to this game. *sigh*. Speaking of which, let's see if I can make life a little harder...

Straw poll: If I instituted a variant rule eliminating Genre questions (in addition to the usual "no air dates / series length" and "trope-only" variants), would it make the game too difficult?

I think recognizing genres is a key point of the game. The reason we say "No air dates" is because we're not trying to build an encyclopedic knowledge of what aired when, we're trying to introduce a familiarity with anime as a whole.

True, true. Oh well, time to put the next stage of my (ill-conceived) plan into action!

Round 282/283: No air dates, Tropes only, Final Destination!

The standard variant rules apply: Trope-related questions only. No asking about air dates or series length.

But Wait, There's More!

  • Two songs are up for grabs.
  • The post limit remains at 3 questions in total.
  • You can win either round individually without getting the other.
  • If you should choose to ask a question relating to both anime, the answers will not be in order of song choice.

So, without further ado...

Hint: Enough of Song 1, and you get Song 2.

Is song 2 Lost My Music? Which, of course, implies that Song 1 is God Knows.

Does Song 2 use Gratuitous English?

Is the anime for song 1 a mecha series?

  • Is song 2 Lost My Music? No.
  • Does Song 2 use Gratuitous English? Yes. (Minimal.)
  • Is the anime for song 1 a mecha series? Yes.
  • Is song 2 "God Only Knows"? No.

And if Song 1 is God Knows, then clearly Song 2 must be...

In other words, NO.

Made a slight error in my previous post. Recheck for corrections.

  • Is song 2 also from a Mecha series? Yes. (Should've picked something less connected.)
    • Slice of Life series? No.
    • Magical Girl series? No.
  • Are song 1 and song 2 connected in any way? It depends on your definition. Anything can be connected if you try hard enough. I mean, the fact that they share a common hint is a connection.

I meant things like if they are from the same franchise or if they are animated by the same studio or if a seiyuu is part of both shows, or if they have similiarities on its plots, or stuff like that. In other words if they have something noticible in common and that doesn't require too much steps to connect one with the other.

Has the anime been used on this game before? Is it an adaptation? Is it part of a bigger franchise?

I just realized that it is a Tropes only round.

Guys, remember that variant rules are in play. While I guess Genre questions are okay (on hindsight), asking for a particular series / franchise is probably a little too close. I'm going by Grain's rule of thumb here.

Also, please try to specify if you're referring to Song 1, Song 2, or both. Vague questions get vague answers.

  • Has the anime been used on this game before? Which one? Also, Tropes-only.
  • Is it an adaptation? As above.
  • Is it part of a bigger franchise? As above.
  • Is song 1 from the Gundam franchise? I think this counts as a Works question.
  • Is song 2 from the Gundam franchise? See above.
  • Is song 1 an OP? Yes.
  • Is song 2 an OP? Yes.
  • Are the bots that appeared in these animes appears in Super Robot Wars? Eh... I think it's a Works question too.
