Is wrong to admit I actually enjoy Captain Planet (though strictly in a So Bad, It's Good perspective, of course)
No, it's not.
But saying Iron Man, Spider-Man and Batman should just move away is pure Narm made publicity.
Captain Planet was made in 1990.
Captain Planet coming to DVD is nice, but where the fuck is Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates?
visit my blog!Pre-ordering doesn't ensure that you'll get it before everyone else.
To be honest I remember the first three seasons of Captain Planet being pretty good. I hope Shout eventually does all six seasons (there are some episodes of the final season that are unofficially banned for some reason) but if they only get the first three out, I'll be happy.
visit my blog! You know the real shame about Captain Planet? If Ted Turner had made even the slightest effort to not be so ... Ted Turner, it might have been a good show. Certainly though the majority of it was nonsensical, there were certain parts of it that were rather good.
What Captain Planet needs is a complete reboot.

Yes, I know the Toon Zone forums are horrible, but the site is essential for animation news.
This press release provides several lulzy quotes.
"Move over Iron Man, Spider-Man and Batman, the world’s first environmentally-conscious superhero on the block plans to offer kids action-packed adventure and a chance to help save the environment."
"Offering rich animation and engaging storytelling"
When John K. hears about this he will implode.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
"As excitement builds for Captain Planet and the Planeteers: Season One DVD release, Shout! Factory will announce additional activities and events for fans in the forthcoming months."
Are they trying to bring CP back into the mainstream? Imagine... a live-action PG-13 Captain Planet movie
