Though they had to change the name because BLIZZARD stated their expansion takes precedence.... despite being released, what, 10 years after HW:C?!
Either way, this was a great and really good step by Gearbox who pushed this out the door - and didn't set expectations with a huge fanfare and over promises. They just went ahead and BAM. Done. I quite like that.
I preferred HW:C to HW 2 - it did more interesting stuff with the lore and made the universe seem larger.
I really hope so. Strangely I found out yesterday that a bloke I was friends with at school now works for BBI! Emigrated to Canada and everything!
The log is interesting as it's a far more angular style than the original - new art style? Hex based gameplay? (Full 3d Space civ game...?)
As it's the angel moon symbol doubt it's a Deserts of Kharak game... and BBI have been working on several concurrent projects. Either way... I'm excited!
OH GODS YEESSSSSSSSS!!!!
...Wait a minute. They're using Fig as a kickstarter program? I know Deserts of Kharak didn't exactly fly off the shelves (an unfortunate disappointment in itself), but why do they need to fund raise when they have Gearbox's suppo-
Oh. Awww crap... I think unless this game rakes in a huge amount during its fundraising phase, this sucker is gonna be an Epic exclusive. God dammit!
Well, the target funding goal on the fig is..... $1.
So the fig crowdfund seems to just be a way of looping the fandom in and offering pre-order bonuses. Oh and backers get to put their opinions forward - there's a questionnaire in there offering some interesting details and asking what you;d like to see (And it implies that ALL THE KADESHI ARE DEAD sadly)
And they ARE making a mobile game... but it's separate and looks to be a hand held strategy game, so WOO.
AND it's set AFTER HW 2. So it's the Eye of Arran there.
Also also also! That scene with the orbs in the trailer? DIRECTLY RELATES TO AN EARLY CONCEPT PIECE FROM HW 2 art book where they eye has the floating orbs. So, they are really REALLY doing some major call backs.
The concept art for larger ships seem to hail back to the HW 2 dust wars concept.
I think it's a good sign - this is separate from HW 3 so should just expand the audience. And looks like a better idea than trying to convert HW into a mobile came (A total conversion or importing the existing games)
I really like the look, as well as the fact we're seeing new factions and designs!
There's a homeworld "RPG" mod that turns the game into an open world "Sins of A Solar Empire" style game... but I'd love more set in the universe.
Angels Fall First would be great to transfer to a Homeworld setting.

Don't think so. It may be independent of the others?
