Per this post in Wiki Talk...is this in need of changing?

NOTE: Double Standard is a locked page, so if a new pic's decided on, one of the mods will have to install it.

Eh; I think it's fine to leave it as is.

I tend to lean that way myself, but let's see if anyone comes up with anything else.

I don't like it. It's only an example after copious application of Fridge Logic, and even then it relies completely on the caption.

Imageless would be better than this. The caption does all of the work.

Here are the reasons I gave in the Wiki Talk thread why I thought it should be changed:

1) It's of real life, non-famous people. They're unlikely to ever see the implications brought up about them by the picture and caption, but do we really want to take this risk?

2) It's inaccurate. I assume that such an event would only arise because of the movie, and unless this pic was taken at the release of Eclipse or before, and these moms are members of Team Jacob, they're not cheering for seventeen year olds (as Robert Pattinson was 22, and Kristen Stewart 18, when the first movie was released). This is especially since Taylor Lautner didn't get a lot of attention before he took his shirt off in Eclipse, as far as I can tell.

3) It requires mind-reading. The caption just assumes they're doing the teeny-bopper thing because of a lust for the actors involved.

Let's just scrap the current image until we can come up with something better.

I'm in the scrap the current image and look for something better camp. It's more a dig at Twilight and its fans than an illustration of any kind of double standard.

Yes, this image relies way too much on the caption.

The xkcd "girls suck at math" comic comes to mind, would that be an acceptable replacement? I'm thinking it might be too big...

^Switch it to a vertical arrangement and it might work. One moment.

How's this?

I think the xkcd picture is a very clear double standard.

The alt-text from the comic is "It's pi plus C, of course."

... well, the comic leaves open the idea that the character would have been about to write the C. Just putting that out there.

^Only that's still wrong. The alt text is a joke. The answer is X cubed over three plus C.

I know, I know, it's just that I'm referring to "even in the context of that wrong answer they may have been ABOUT to write the C."

I installed the image. Captions are not mandatory, you know. This one looks done.
