Good idea; done.
When they said the new series was called Pixie Trix Comics, I really should have figured out it would be about the IN-UNIVERSE comic store. I thought it was just going to be their catch-all title.
Zadie? Did Zii's cousin just move to town the second she went on tour?
Fresh-eyed movie blog"Zii" is short for "Suzy". "Zadie" is a version of "Sadie", which is a diminutive of "Sarah"...
But, okay, someone likes Zs.
= Spindriver =I'm not a fan of that cast image as the main image. It conveys nothing about the strip's story or writing, and doesn't particularly convey character importance or relationship to Sandra.
Those kickstarter stretch goals are nice.
For a second I thought that comic store was the one Gary went to, but it' just that the guy looks a bit similar.
In my sentimental last post, I forgot, SOTR is still technically updating. Weird for me to forget about my favorite strip from this verse.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt is the store Gary went to.
It being the store that Gary went to and Zii worked at is why we're going to get familiar Montreal faces coming through from time to time.
Fresh-eyed movie blogHeck, Aaron, the guy in that strip, previously appeared in Ma3, and is now wearing a costume that Jung previously inflicted on Zii. Not to mention that the store name (which is now the title of the comic) was frequently mentioned in Ma3 and SDB...

= Spindriver =Apparently all I remembered was Jung, and so little about him that I forgot his name and thought he looked like Aaron (in the first panel of this strip only).

The sad, REAL American dichotomyNew PTC strip is up. Ah, the things we do for love...
Fairly low-key start so far; the two carry-over characters we expected, one other (confirmed as now being an employee), and one new, about whom we do not yet know much, beyond the fact that she isn't taken by the sight of Aaron in a miniskirt. Presumably Ramona will talk her around. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what sorts of actual plot we eventually get.
= Spindriver =Another new PTC strip. Ah, so this isn't just a comics shop workplace comedy. Publishing a comic about publishing comics may just be a touch too much of writing what you know, but it may work. Time will tell.
On the other hand, didn't these creators do this before with Cool Cat Studio?
Well, at least Zadie's job is more than the (let's face it, very sexist, though that was the joke) counter candy. Which means she has no need to be Giz-cute, but let's not complain about that.
= Spindriver =And another PTC strip. Gosh, Ramona has had some Character Development since her first appearance in SDB.
= Spindriver =Today's PTC strip. So Zadie will presumably be entering the narrative-proper in an unattached state — and she is not above the pursuit of romantic attachments to male persons.
= Spindriver =New SotR strip. In which Eva starts poncing around in a floor-length hooded cloak and riveted face-mask, making over-complicated speeches about power (or in this case, modelling success) being its own justification. Won't work, of course, Evil Cannot Comprehend Good, yadda yadda, and we've already seen that Marie doesn't actually like her current situation very much.
Today's PTC strip. In which Zadie demonstrates Puppy-Dog Eyes.
= Spindriver =Because I misread the order of words in the last bit of SOTR, I thought there was the implication of If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!, and I started to wonder what happened to Eva's true mentor. Basically, I thought Eva wanted Marie to murder her to become an exceptional model, and that ridiculously evil jump solicited a genuine laugh from me.
It helps that this is the second consecutive strip of Villainous Face Hold chin grabbing evil she's doing.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyNot actually consecutive, but good catch nonetheless.
= Spindriver =New PTC strip is up. I thought that Jung was just the shop manager...
= Spindriver =I thought it was always pretty clear it was his store.
I'm just surprised it seems he owns the building.
Fresh-eyed movie blogNope. Early strips had him making reference to his boss:

Yeah, fitting a whole new window is not trivial.

= Spindriver =These strips took place during a period of time where Jung was experimenting with referring to himself in third person.
For a more realistic take, maybe the old boss retired or passed and gave his best employee ownership.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I used to work with a guy who went from working at to owning his own mechanic shop by virtue of being an excellent mechanic that the owner recognized would be much better at running the company than his idiot son.

They also changed a lot of the cast pics to bigger but less tidy images. Isn’t this sort of thing supposed to be discussed in advance?
Meanwhile, First strip of the new comic is up. Pretty much as expected so far; someone old, someone new, somewhere borrowed, nothing blue yet.
Could a mod perhaps change the title of this thread to, say, “Ménage à 3 Universe Comics”?
(Oh, and could someone kill the current infestation of despicable highjacker ads?)
