Now I want the wacky hijink adventures of Zii trying to wingman for Ruby / get her laid. Basically the plot of Ma3 but with Ruby as protagonist.

I've always said that Ruby is in many ways what Gary looked like he was supposed to be, before he rapidly turned into a hopeless wish-fulfillment figure; somebody whose virginity and frustration arose from actual issues in their own past and personality, and not just from them being a comedy geek. But, being female, and society being how it is, she couldn't simply repeat Gary's story; a woman who was desperate for sex, with almost anyone, could get it easily enough, but would have completely different problems with being exploited and her self-respect. And Zii would be an even worse wingman for Ruby than for Gary, because she'd have no idea how to manage those issues.

Anyway, Thursday's SDB-in-Ma3 installment is up. And I'm reminded why I like Ruby so much. I don't even think that she's being all that un-sexy; plain speaking has its own charms.

And that was the lesson all along. She's a solid mentor for Sandra, and Sandra will realize that soon.

Now watch as Eva sooner or later ditches Marie when she inevitably makes one big mistake that leaves her current career ruined and herself out on the streets, for haivng expended all of her usefulness to Eva's schemes against Zoe, and like Sandra she tries to get back at her ex-mentor by rebuilding herself from square one, only to realize that the only method she knows is utterly useless (mainly because it hinged on a big star like Eva sponsoring her) and she has zero idea how to do it any other way.

Sandra is ending soon with the rest of the M3-verse, right? Because if they had more time I could totally see that happening, but as is I doubt it.

I envisioned that because it's the logical way of showing Sandra exactly why Zoe warned her against believing that Marie's way is an acceptable alternative to Zoe's way. Besides, they could do a silent montage of several strips like they did with Sandra.

Do they have a hard deadline for ending the whole MA 3-verse comics?

Another new SDB-in-Ma3 strip, with Ruby being Ruby — a highly efficient Butt-Monkey. Anyhow, Giz clearly feels that the old ones are the good ones.

Out of curiosity, why do you link the MA3 post instead of the SDB one?

Mostly because Giz is announcing these strips on the Ma3 board and not on the SDB one, with links to the Ma3 image page, so that’s where I tend to land up.

Anyhow, new SDB, also in Ma3. And a beautiful sequence of portraits of someone being forced to realise that she's surrounded by idiot.

... I pity Ruby. She deserves far better than someone so sexually clueless as Andy.

To be fair, she was just as clueless until very recently.

She was never “clueless” in that sense at all, really. Naive, inexperienced, prone to denial and sometimes to flying off the handle, sure, annoying if you insist — but she’s never given the impression of being as gormlessly stupid as has become Andy’s schtick.

...Or at least a facade of gormlessness to protect himself from hard decisions. Yeah, new strip. Slowly, slowly...

While ideally, one shouldn't have to play games, I respect him for his trepidation.

... This rushing out of the webcomic's conclusion is really doing a number on the quality of the plot threads' resolution, because I could not help but cringe at this strip trying to cram so much in just four panels.

... Quick question: Do we have any indication that Ruby has actually seen a real penis before? I recall her accidentally peeping at Dillon and—I think Jerzy?—going at it early on, but I don't know if she actually seen those parts of them.

I ask because I wonder if her reaction in the last panel is an indication that Andy is unusually large for a man in that regard.
