I just consider the whole thing Refuge in Audacity and be done with it. The whole thing is so contrived and ridiculous that it doesn't seem to make any implications about reality at all.
I mean, come on. The whole thing rides on the facts that Gary's gay best friend occasionally cosplays as his favourite porn star, practised kissing techniques with said Gary, lives with said porn star due to similarly crazy circumstances without Gary even knowing, and Gary being so completely clueless/insecure/actually quite aware of the fact that these circumstances are indeed so impossible that it is too good to be true.
Sometimes, I gotta say, Double Standards exist for a reason.
Rape Is Ok When It Is Female On Male can work because sometimes a guy isn't going to care. Their is a significant less chance he will.
What makes it shameful is that sometimes a man is negatively affected but will never recieve his justice because no one takes him seriously.

It doesn't matter if the guy would care or not, he's essentially being conned into doing something against his knowledge.
Read my stories!@Mullon:It actually doesn't bother me...Now let's think how this could come to even happen if the genders were reversed: A gender reversed version is even more impossible, a dick is even more conspicuous than a vagina, and if you go to the point of licking the asshole, there are two lumps of muscle next to that one. Hey, the vagina is conspicuous enough on its own, that he hasn't noticed doesn't detract from the implausibility of the scenario to actually happen in reality.
@Sal Fish Fin: I can agree that there is a distinct wrongdoing happening here, but I cannot bring myself to feel this is a serious case of rape instead of a misunderstanding that ended somehow in rape in the legal sense.

OK. Fair enough.
Although, it's not a misunderstanding if someone is intentionally mislead.

Read my stories!I'm not sure it really matters if the genders were reversed.
The point here is that admittedly, consent was not given by either party, yet there is still something explicitly sexual occurring that one of them did not intend to carry through with, which the other did nothing to prevent despite having no reason to believe the other would consent to it.
But in spite of that, just because this is legally a kind of sexual assault does not mean that the affected parties are going to leave both physically and emotionally scarred and traumatized. Sure, maybe GARY [edit; I stopped reading this comic for...I don't even remember, and boy it shows] is about to get unprecedentedly upset about something sexual, but then maybe he won't.
Either way, the circumstance still raises plenty of questions about human sexuality, and whether or not what amounts to a rather focused law pertaining to consent could ever hope to realistically cover all the ways people initiate sexual acts with each other, and what among those are and are not okay to the participants involved, and where responsibility lies if they aren't, and how far the law should go in those cases.
But yeah, no matter how worthy a topic of discussion this hypothetical situation lends itself to, it's in this comic. Which means all of us suspect that an issue this complicated and inflammatory wasn't introduced as some attempt demonstrate a point, but instead some ad hoc method to get somebody's tongue all up in someone else's private bits.

Meh. My guess? A mild freak out more because OMIGOD IT'S NOT DILLON WHO IS THIS LADY HOSHIT and then comedy, and then that's it.
Read my stories!Given Gary's habitual reactions to anything in the ballpark of getting somewhere with women, I predict his immediate reaction will be neither joy nor anger, but a massive Heroic BSoD.
Remember, we're talking about a guy who used to get nosebleeds and pass out merely from a woman flashing her boobs at him. Not letting him touch them, not kissing him, just flashing them.
He's going to go catatonic. Calling it now.

These are all good points, but the problem for me here is that I figure Gary would consent in a heartbeat. What makes it rape is that he was never offered a choice either way.
This being MA 3 all of these implications will never be discussed.
