Una met the gaze of the Krogan, that one smelled some sort of trouble... probably in addition to something else unpleasant, but she wouldn't judge that just yet. He could be the rare Krogan not smelling like death and rocket launchers, she had no way of telling. She stopped, Rano didn't look like he was around just yet, and he'd probably freak out if they went in without him.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Yeah." Una said. "Think I know that guy, or he thinks he knows me... I'm not sure." Una felt a tap on her shoulder, and spun to face whatever was behind her, her biotics ready to throw some poor fool. She sighed when she realized it was Rano. "Damnit, man." She said. "I thought I asked you not to sneak up on me like that." Rano shrugged. "Sorry."
Liveblog | DeadblogA merc indeed. Tarek knew the Asari: She worked for Eclipse while he did contracts for them. A brash girl, kind of a smartass. Whatsername? He couldn't tell.
"Good times.", Tarek thought. "Seranna was alive, n' I had a full face." He smiled, melancholic. "This ain't good. Need to find a gig soon, or I'm gonna go nuts."
He approached them in a friendly manner. After all, he had nothing better to do, and an Eclipse merc probably knew where to score a paying gig.
"Hey", he said to Una. "I think I know you. You were a merc back in Ilium?" Tarek had a deep, raspy voice, that sounded sorta metallic because of the artificial face and throat.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Una turned towards the Krogan newcomer, she didn't fear Krogans as much as admire and accept the fact that they could punch you through a bulkhead like it was no thing. This one didn't seem like he had ill intent, to the degree a krogan could have anything else, but then again, he did know about a very shady part of her life, arguably the second most shady part. "I did spend some time on Illium yes... Mercing." She answered "What about it?"

Liveblog | Deadblog"Yeah... well." Una scratched one head fold, it was getting to be quite a nervous habit of hers. "I don't exactly Merc. any more." She said. "Me and eclipse... aren't talking any more. Nowadays I run with these guys." She nodded to the rest of the group. "Except me." Rano chimed i. "These guys except that one guy." Una corrected herself.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Run around? Ah, smuggling ya mean?. Nice change'o'pace.", he said, approvingly. "Name's Tarek. I'm a troubleshooter: You point me at trouble, I shoot it." he smirked.
He lowered his voice: "In truth: Ain't contractin' for the Eclipse much, lately. Got my face blown off fighting for them, 'n all their crappy HMO would get me? this damn steel plaque.", he knocked on the prosthesis.
"How 'bout I buy y'all a drink? I'm not short on creds, and I ain't got anything better to do."

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it."Well, we haven't really decided what we do yet, except messing with the Blue Suns... but.." Una looked around. "Lets get us inside before we continue that discussion." She wouldn't say she was nervous about the Suns, but she was not keen on attracting more unfortunate company than what was necessary.

Liveblog | DeadblogUna headed towards the bouncer. "Malik and party." She said, it still felt weird to use her pseudonym, but she had used it so much at this point that it sounded pretty natural. The bouncer, a massive Elcor, consulted his list. Being an Elcor, it took him quite a while. "Insincere Service-Mindedness: Enjoy your time in The Afterlife." The doors slid open.
Liveblog | DeadblogTarek laughed. "Already been hit hard. 'N I'm still here. Not in one piece, mind ya, but not that much worse for wear", he said. "Lemme be blunt: Anything the Suns can bring, I can take.", he said. "But it ain't no use to speak of these things without being plastered. So let's grab some booze and some drugs."

Torkar had been observing the other krogan introduce itself to the party. He had already decided that he didn't much like him and he had the subtle impression that he would like him even less before the night was over.
Torkar headed inside the club with the rest of the group, keeping himself silent for the most part.
"I must admit, Rano." Una said as she entered Afterlife, already feeling disdain for the music they played. "You know your craft." Rano nodded. "But of course." He said as Una scouted for a free table. Much to her surprise, there was one free table in a corner. She pointed towards the spot, that'd be their base of operations.
Liveblog | DeadblogTarsus snorted as the krogan spoke to the others. He was politer than you'd expect someone on Omega to be, but it was still kind of off-putting that he was a mercenary.
Men that sell their allegiance for money...can't trust people like that.
Observing the inside of Afterlife, he looked around, then turned his gaze on a hint of motion at the far end of the room, a staircase that a trio of well-armed people, two men and a woman, were walking up. He turned away. A lot of people went heavily armed on Omega. It wasn't his concern.

Marik was psyched to be in the club. Wow, the Afterlife! This is so cool! So is this Tarek fellow! How nice of him to buy us drinks! Interesting that he knows Una, though...
Clearly enjoying himself already, he turned to the others with a grin on his face. "Hey, anyone want to hit up the bar? I could always use some more alcoholic recipes. Or we could dance? Show some moves for the ladies?"

Tarek had little patience for idiots, and the bouncer was taking simply forever to verify his appointment.
Still, satisfying as slamming the turian face-first against the wall until the spine cracked might be, it would probably get him into too much trouble. Instead, he grunted some inintelligible curse and slowly inhaled from his joint.
At one of his idle scans around the public, his gaze locked on Dano and Una. Quarians weren't typically barflies, so seeing one at Afterlife was not common. As for the asari... Well, she looked like a merc. Tarek didn't remember fighting with her, but she looked sorta familiar.
"Better keep an eye on those two", he grumbled. For now, the krogan kept waiting.
