There's nothing about the current iCarly picture that would indicate that the girl is a Girl Next Door. Because she goes to school and is wearing normal (if highly expensive) people clothes?

This might be hard to find. When I tried Google Images, I got a whole lot of boobs and some Sims.

I tried setting safesearch to its most puritanical, which got me...different boobs. Jeez, you'd think it was a difficult task to filter out all the sexual images on the entire internet.

A fence and/or a lawn would be good "next door" visual cues for me.

What about Peter talking to Mary Jane across their little chainlink fence from the movies?

I think there were some pretty good shots showing the two talking with both houses visible to establish they are neighbors.

Best I could find. The other good ones had water marks. Adding "fence" helps a lot.

[1] How's this? And, you're right Deboss, the fence helps.

The fence bit got a click on my head. Here's another proposition I remembered about: Shiori Fujisaki and Naoto Takami, the childhood friend pair of Tokimeki Memorial: Tabidachi no Uta.

I feel like these suggestions are way too literal.

^ Should they not be? I see no other way to avoid JAFAAC without getting the environment involved.

[up] It could maybe be a wholesome girl among ... unwholesome girls? Or something. But "no image" would be better than JAFAAC or a literal "female who lives next door". The trope is a character type.

I like Helter Skelter's. We could even add something wholesome and sweet as a caption. "Wow, you must be new around these parts, let me show you around."

At the very least, helterskelter's works better than deboss's if only for the former having that down-to-earth feel that helps capture the trope.

[up] I agree, but at the same time there's something about the pic of the guy and girl talking from their windows that I like as well.

Maybe an image of Mary Jane from the first Spider-Man movie? Where she's talking with Peter across the fence? There's a lot of visual iconography in that movie, including MJ being both a literal and figurative Girl Next Door in a way that could translate well in a still.

Can't actually find such a still, is my current problem, though....

I was comparing the pics provided by helterskelter and deboss to each other, not to anything else.

Yes, That was my suggestion as well, but my problem is the same: I have no way to show such a picture. If I had the DV Ds it wouldn't be a problem.

[up][up] I know, I was tossing in my opinion of the other pic separate from that.

A agree that if a picture of Peter and Mary-Jane talking across the fence could be found than it would be a good one to use but if not than how about one of Mary-Ann from Gilligan's Island?

^ YES! That's exactly what I was thinking of. You can clearly see both the fence and other backyard furnitings indicating that she's the girl living next door to Peter.

Perhaps the caption should comment, then, on how literal an example this is.
