We must survive, all of us. The blood of a human for me, a cooked bird for you. Where is the difference?

Statists are extremist enough on their own!

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

... Listen, if you have to compare yourselves to the CPR or Federal Russia to look good... How about you stop making excuses for your country's deplorable behaviour and start actually investing the development of third-world countries, or at least stop hindering it? You know, just letting people have their elections and not intervening by financing parties or assasinating people or whatever. Just letting them sort out their own problems. Help of the sort that was given to Germany and Japan in WWII's aftermath would be awesome, but it will do if you just leave people alone.

Yeah! Fuck every ongoing genocide in the world! You hear that, Darfur? We were on the fence about you, but now you're completely screwed!

Darfur stopped some time ago, I believe.

And the fact is that America isn't interfereing there at all, but is more than happy to play "globe police" elsewhere.

which frankly it cant afford to eb doing and is wasting resources trying to play nanny. it should focus its resources inward. we can't do anything for others unless we get our own shit in order.

See, I don't like that. If playing global police is bad, then we should have no responsibility for any of the world's problems. Don't expect us to concern ourselves with only the issues that matter to you.

[up]That's fine by me. Also, it'd be nice if you stopped getting those regimes and rebellions and druglords and warlords to buy your freaking weapons. That's a money and life sink, that is.

Getting a nation to look at itself (especially the US with the vast amount of resources it commands) would be a very good thing. If only because the US has some internal issues that should be more pressing than external ones.

It works the other way too though, if you are playing globe police you have a responsibility for every disaster that you do not try to prevent.

I think having foreign enemies is what keeps that country united, and, that failing, the internal divisions would just blow up at them. Gargantuan country is gargantuan.

They were completely screwed when Clinton decided to cruise missile that pharmaceuticals plant back in the 90s and fuck up the country economically and medically. The rest of the world would appreciate the isolationist tendencies more if you held them right from the beginning.

That'd be great, thanks. In the meanwhile, though, if we're doing the isolationism thing, let's aim for real isolationism rather than interventionism until we get what we want followed by isolationism when we're asked to clean up the mess. People find that kinda passive-aggressive after a while.

Excuse me, Scrye, this is offtopic, but can you please refrain drom being so rude and jerktastic all the time? It sounds as if you don't care at all about the problems of your fellow humans, especially those caused by your country's selfish self-righteous reckless thoughtless callous actions.

Could you use commas the next time you try and squeeze every negative word into one sentence?

[up][up][up]Nobody would have to if Uncle Sam hadn't fucked things up in the first place. That's the thing about being the most powerful guy on the block, you can make messes beyond the ability of nearly everyone else to clean up. That may or may not mean everyone else needs to get better at cleaning up messes, but it certainly implies you should stop making them.

[up][up][up]That sounds like a personal attack...ON MY COUNTRY. Seriously though, the US is nowhere near an empire; if we are we're doing a horrible job. If we really got the notion that "You know what, fuck it; lets start conquering, international opinion be damned''", what's to stop us from taking over South and Central America? $20 says the rest of the world wouldn't care.

200$ says you'd completely ruin yourselves economically, fail at this endeavour, and lose massive international relations cred. There is only so much one can do, an even Irak + Afghanistan, which should be a breeze, are draining your economies and dragging you down. If you were to actually try to Take Over the World, you would fail. Unless you are willing to use your nukes.

^Dude, if we defined win as bomb them back to the stone-age (which isn't that far in Afghanistan) we'd be done by now.

Back on topic: If we're really an evil world-conquering empire, why would we give a fuck about international credibility?
