It was more... different flavours not going well together. You know how food tends to taste really unpleasant just after you brush your teeth? Like that.

What's precedent ever done for us?

Speaking of mixing flavours, someone swapped the music and animation for the OPs of Gosick and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and it is scary how well they go together.

Wait, what? The perpetrator never changed his clothes? Or did he just carry around the acorns he (and several other people) were pelted with just to incriminate himself?

I think it can be assuimed that he was just too busy to change his clothes. All of this - the murders and the attempted theft - happened in the same day, remember?

I thought that his disguise required a change of clothes, too.

Spoilers off!

It might not have. Then again, Victorique's method of crimesolving appears to be to confront the suspects with shaky evidence until they crack and confess.

It's been fun.

The dramatic music at the end of the episode made it feel like a season finale...but it wasn't.

I thought it was an pretty good arc overall, although the explanation confused me a little.

Edit: Also, Grevil won some coolness points for that awesome kick he gave to Derek.

Buh.... buh.... How the hell did Harminia light those fires so quickly? Does being crazy give her super speed? And how did Ambrose not hear the bridge collapsing, or Victorique's screams when he was only a couple feet ahead of her? Why didn't he help Kujo? Did he just keep running off into the distance?

And this arc was going so well. The author's ability to pick the worst possibility ending verges on a talent

^^My idea for that was that the midsummer festival was still going on, so there were more bonfire carts already built... or something.

It's been fun.

This episode felt very much like an end of series episode, yes I know it's not. She lost her memento, Kujo now knows she likes him, and her past is buried a bit. Weird how that happened mid season.

Huh....I should have known Victorique leaving that church in tears was too significant for just a "Victorique is short!" joke. tongue

I guess Victorique does like Kujo. Lucky for him, since he has a blonde fetish.

Going back to the episode four for a moment, when Victorique says the culprit is blonde, because of Kujo daydream. I thought it was stretch until the other when a friend posted a word search they had made on a message board. I started it without reading the whole list of words and two or three times while searching for a word, I'd say to myself "I wonder if this word's on the list", find out it was farther down the list and look back to find the that word I thought of was right were left of looking without consciously seeing it.

So may there is something to do it or maybe it was just a bizarre coincidence.

^Subconscious suggestion is a powerful tool, and flashing images to people of a smiling face or a kitten has been known to affect things like their later perception of whether a face is angry or not or things like that. It's still a bit of a stretch, and it'd be completely unconscionable as a deciding piece of evidence, but Victorique's a main character, so of course she's right.

It's been fun.

^While stuff like that can certainly happen, it's kinda a stretch to go from daydreaming about a blond haired woman to definitely seeing a blond haired woman from the corner of your eye. Especially in a court of law.

@ Red Savant and Funnyguts: No, agreed. But if I was to only watch mysteries that didn't include spurious pieces of evidence, I'd have to give up my Columbo tapes.

So I only just started watching the new episode. But this episode has the most kickass crazy name for any show ever: "Blue Roses Bloom in the Cannibal Department Store". YES.

Victorique singing about her kimono is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. "Moelock Holmes" indeed.

Also, at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, what does Gosick mean?

^^The katakata for the series name is ゴシック in the opening - which would pronounced more like 'Gosshick'. It's an odd way to Romanize it, but the title of the show is basically 'Gothic'.

It's been fun.

I thought the scene where Victoria went Blue with Shock was adorable. waii

Also, those blue roses in the OP make a lot more sense now.

Honestly did anyone else think 'Kujo startled the witch!' when that girl in the box freaked out?
