It was explained in this episode why Grevil doesn't like asking for help from Victorique - she keeps demanding exorbitant payments from him (like the hair), presumably as petty revenge for the de Blois family's treatment of her. As for the dream, it's hard to say whether it was a true flashback or just a cold-induced hallucination. Fortunately, the next episode looks like it'll be Grevil-centric, so we'll hopefully be getting a little more insight into his and Victorique's relationship.
I must say, though, our resident inspector definitely scored a few points in this episode. Not just in stopping the store manager's assistant (who, let's face it, had just downed three policemen in a matter of seconds), but by pulling off a decent bit of Obfuscating Stupidity during the investigation. Who would have thought he had it in him?
What's precedent ever done for us?He's afraid Victorique would make him cut it and give her his hair?
Something tells me her swollen hands have something to do with her being in the family.

No, he explicitly mentioned that his current, ridiculous hairstyle was one of his payments for her assistance. Presumably, the others were similarly exorbitant. As for her hands, we already saw that she damaged them whilst rescuing Kazuya in the previous arc.
Broadcasting? Think I missed that. If anything, I'd say it did the opposite, given that they were able to conduct an auction in there despite a massive police presence in the store.
I think Grevil was just providing a distraction so his officers could covertly smear the Blue John on the walls. Given that they'd brought that stuff along in the first place, I think they were already fully prepared to hit the store with everything they had, broadcast or no.
EDIT: Yeah, just rewatched the scene. No sign that they overheard the auction before the Blue John revealed its location. The staff were just looking worried because of all the police in the store.

What's precedent ever done for us?I thought her father was that long haired old man who carried her away in the opening song?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Finally an episode that gives us a bit of backstory....
So Grevil's hair is like that because it was Victorique's way of getting back at him by making it so that he could never get a girl(Jacqueline) with a hairdo like that?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."But she probably understood that it meant a lot to him.
And who coulda thought...Grevil used to look like Milliardo Peacecraft.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."One thing we did find out though. At first I thought Grevil would be a bumbling adult sidekick that relies on the child genius to keep his reputation like that guy in Detective Conan.
This case is pretty similar, but unlike in Detective Conan, the bumbling adult, Grevil, appears to outright resent the child genius who solves all the crimes, Victorique.
But I think it was hinted on in previous episodes as well. His reaction to Victorique wearing a turban, hence mistaking her for her mother, shows a bit of hostility along with surprise before Victorique let him know it was just her.
This...I find very entertaining about the recent developments.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Huh, I thought we were going to enter a new arc this time, but this seems to be mostly a standalone thing. (Unless it is part of a new arc and we're just not aware yet?)
Tumblr here.Is there enough episodes left for another arc? How many episodes is Gosick to run?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Gosick 12:D'awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww~
That was friggin' adorable. Except for Ms.Cecile, because it's just a little odd for people to walk around and eat random food that lying around...
I was reminded of Double Rainbow at the end...
Tumblr here....how is it possible to mistake someone named Victorique for a boy?!
As for the highlight of this episode...Victorique's attempt to have cake.
Nice to know this is one anime that's getting more than 12 episodes.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."

I wonder when does anime Hitler arrive at the scene...
That said, bummed out that we still don't see Victorique in a kimono.
