[up][up] It is a big deal if it gives the wrong impression of the trope. It's possible for the two tropes to overlap, but the original image gave no impression that he's apparently a moron. I like the "no pants" picture as the before image.

I honestly don't see how that is "moronic". He was rushing to get dressed but the phone rang so he had to pick it up. Nothing stupid or foolish about it, he's just pressed for time.

People don't normally put on their hat before their pants. Hats are generally the final step before going outside.

I guess I can see how it's misleading though.

Yeah, Hats before Pants isn't a good enough reason to classify that image as "Stupid" rather than "extremely hurried" or simply lacking priorities.

[up] What the hell is he doing in that image? I mean, I like the literal mindedness that he is crouching but again that's just vaguely silly.

Being lecherous isn't "moronic".

I know it may be another case of "It's silly" but capture "moron" in a image will be pretty difficult. From reading the definition this or the Gir picture can fit.

As a moron myself, I must say that you guys are being overly critical of the images of the old guy from Dragon Ball for qualifications of being a moron. In the one where he's holding the magazine he has a stupid look on his face and is crouching in an odd position. In the one where he's on the phone, he's wearing a hat and what looks like both a shirt and a jacket yet isn't wearing pants.

You don't have to sympathize with him and try to save his feelings from being embarrassed. I'd say that either of those pictures work when merged with the picture of him being all tough and muscular.

I still think something with GIR would be the best for this trope. GIR's naturally an insane blabbering idiot that can't tell the difference between cows and dancing hotdogs, yet can also switch into Hyper Competent Mode when the situation arises.

Good examples don't necessarily lend themselves to good images. There's really no correlation at all, honestly.

Yeah I know, I just still think that there must be a good image of him that might work. Jeez, where's shimaspawn when I need her?

I'm here, but I sadly have no images that fit this. I don't have a way to take screen caps and my google fu has failed me.

I like the pantsless old guy, and the goofy swordsman.

Alright, well, if we can't find any other images then I guess the old man in his underpants goin' Super Saiyan might be the best option.

The old image was similar to what Lionheart posted, except the first image was Sokka picking his ear with his finger.

Another vote for Roshi in his underpants/giant muscular, or Sokka.

Ok, found some pictures for others who can fit this trope (still love the Sokka one btw, ahem anyways.)

For arguement's sake, Ron Stoppable (from Kim Possible) fits the trope like a glove-the image up right now, just does NOT work with this trope. Here are better ones for Ron. 1 2

Beast Boy, from Teen Titans also fits... 3 4

Other characters who also fit...

Isshin Kurosaki from Bleach 5.

Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents 6.

Jack Fenton from Danny Phantom 7.

and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 8.

In addition to Master Roshi from Dragonball and Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender, I'd say we have a great list of choices! grin

I'm not going for Gir. Part of the problem is that his face is too simple/non-human to be very expressive, and expressions are key to illustrating this trope.

I like Sokka, or whoever the old guy is.

I kinda like Sokka, though I think the "Before" image should be something else. He has so many suitable moments where he's shown being a goofy ditz, but that one just looks... weird.

I don't like GIR though. Neither one of them says Moron or Badass. Just insane. Just Insane.

Even though I posted suggestions, I agree, I think I like Sokka the best.

Not a fan of the GIR stuff either I'm afraid.

We have plenty of suggestions, and a lot of people seem to agree on a few already...I say let's get a crowner for this so we can be done with it.

Yeah, crowner time. But I guess we can omit GIR since everyone seems to be in agreement over the unclarity of the example.
