Links Awakening. One of the darker titles in the Legend Of Zelda series, as far as storytelling goes. Great dungeons and items, good writing, and plenty of challenge. I highly recommend either version, vanilla or DX.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.For some reason, the music from the first level of Ninja Boy got written on my brain with a magic marker.
I'm not sure if I liked that.
And yeah, Links Awakening was a golden game. As were the first 2 Pokemon generations. And no-one could ever forget about Tetris.
Snow Bros. Junior was pretty chill.
I have fond memories of Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle, too. I went to Mexico on vacation in fifth grade and beat the entire game. Also, once I lost the manual and an NOA rep actually came to my house to replace it.
There was a Monster Rancher card game for the GBC or something that was a lot of fun, even though I never figured out the rules.
Its funny you mentioned Links Awakening because that's one of the few pre 2000 Legend Of Zelda games I still own.
Anyone remember Pocket Bomberman or Pac-Man Color Edition with Pac Attack? Those games were the bomb.

Had an original Game Boy (almost totally crapped out by now), Game Poy Pocket, and Game Boy Color. (And of course, a GBA) I could have traded to get all the Pokemon...but I was too lazy.
I picked up Super Mario Land from something at school in 5th grade, which was around 2001 or 2002. Still worked fine, but I never beat it. Around that time, I also found an old cartridge of Link's Awakening that my aunt had. Played the heck out of that thing.
The Sonic Advance Trilogy. To paraphrase this Needs More Love entry on the page, whenever someone mentions Sonic's quality in recent years, they will only point out Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 and Shadow The Hedgehog; if asked about this trilogy, they will frequently answer with a blank stare.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I didn't think Sonic Advance was that good. It was better than Sonic Adventure DX, Adventure 2 Battle, Heroes, and Genesis, but I still
I found and dusted off my old gameboy pocket a few days ago, IT STILL WORKS! I now believe in Nintendodium. Super Mario Land 2, however, is the only game and I don't really care for the Super Mario Land games compared to the other 2D platform Mario titles.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackWay back before gaming companies were fixated on your handheld thinner, you could put a game boy in your shirt pocket and expect it not only to block a bullet, but to play Tetris afterwards.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianOh somehow I forgot Breath of Fire 1 and 2, Shining Force 1, Golden Sun 1 and 2, Fire Emblem 6-8, SRW OG 1 and 2, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and the Phantasy Star Collection. Gameboy was good to me with RP Gs. Very good.

HUH. Grating and repetitive music, hideous graphics (which includes UPSCALED dithering for "your currently fighting pokemon" images), all of this unforgivable when compared to the much earlier The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
Then combine this with the lack of some Anti Frustration Features of later generations, and this is a quite awful game. Fortunately Yellow was a step in the right direction, and each generation was better than the last.
On the subject of things I like: Mainly the three Zelda games, but I also recall spending a lot of time on the simple but ever-catchy Tetris.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."My first two games were Wario Land and Kirby Dream Land. I'm still fond of them.
But the best games I had were, without a doubt, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Silver and Link's Awakening. The latter was my first experience with a Bittersweet Ending and I still think of it as one of the best Zelda games. Also it made me kind of a Link/Marin shipper.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.My first portable console was a Game Boy Advance SP, so I grew on GBA and later DS games instead of GB games. I do own a rare few GBC games, though: Star Ocean: Blue Sphere, both Tokimeki Memorial Pocket games, and Yu Gi Oh: Dark Duel Stories.
That said, one GBC game I'd love to get my hands on one of these days is Pokémon Puzzle Challenge. I love Puzzle Games, and liked Panel De Pon when I played it.
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeMy first real game ever was the Game Boy Tetris Attack. Good times. I still have a large portion of my original Game Boy library, but, like an idiot, I sold Kirbys Dreamland long ago.
Luckily, I still have Kirbys Dreamland 2, which is still an excellent game.

Ever since the release of the Nintendo DS and the announcement of the 3DS, I feel that the Game Boy, Game Boy COLOR, and even some of the Game Boy Advance games have been pretty under appreciated. So for Nostalgic Reasons, I thought it would be fun to discuss some of the best classic games for this console series.
Some of my top favorites are:
- Super Mario Brothers Deluxe
- Kirby's Dreamland
- Pokemon Red Version
- Pokemon Pinball (both versions)
