There will be two F's on your transcript, and the college admissions staff will see them.

Anime geemu wo shinasai! No Child Left Behind will give you a safety mat, as long as you attend summer school. Your life is not ruined. Your permanent record is not utterly and eternally tarnished. If you have good grades in other places, you are still eligible for scholarships. Your cumulative GPA is an important factor.
I don't want to be like those jerks on College Confidential (God, I hate them so much. They have good college information, but I hate the snarkiness). The fact is that you have two F's and they will be on your transcript.

Anime geemu wo shinasai! It's harder than the PSAT, I hear. The PSAT also doesn't have an essay, which the real SAT will.
The SAT is also longer than the PSAT, they'll give you more time for it but you'll be there like half the day.
You'll probably still have the not-enough-time problem.

Awww. Well, the essay part doesn't seem that bad; I'm good with coming up with those on the spur of the moment.
I'm not too excited about the Summer School part; I planned on staying at my dads over the Summer, because he lives like a block away from the beach. Dammit....

In my honest opinion, the SAT is more long than anything else. The PSAT is just suppose to give you a very general idea of where you would fall percentile wise in the general population. To study, I would suggest using the tools on the website
. If you feel you need more help, purchase their book from a local bookstore. I did not do it myself, but I have heard positive things about it.
Also remember that you can leave questions blank and not get points off on the SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Do not get too cocky about the essay.
The ACT is probably the easiest test you will take.

The easiness of the SAT and ACT is subjective and relative. They were easy for me, but hard for others. Does this mean that I'm smart, or that others are stupid?
Some people have low GPA's and high standardized scores, and vice versa. It's supposed to measure your aptitude on a national standard, not your school's standard. My school expects everyone to be well versed in algebra II by the end of junior year, but the SAT only had a little bit of algebra II when I took it at the end of my junior year.
Do you go to an advanced school? Do you go to a terrible school? Do you go to a average school? A 2.99 indicates that you are average, but leaning upward by your school's standards, which are different from the SAT's standards.

Anime geemu wo shinasai!Being from Canadia, and having absolutely no knowledge of the school system in the US, I can't offer much technical information, but I can offer some personal experiences that come with failing classes.
So, you've failed two so far. Ok. Can't change that. What you can do though is make sure it won't happen again. You have to look back and see where you messed up. Didn't do homework? Didn't review material enough? Nervous before a big test? Then, tackle those problems. Get help, don't be ashamed of it. Ask your teacher, a friend, parent who's good at math. The school has resources to help you. Take advantage of them. If you fall behind, ask for help immediately. Once that happens you might not be able to catch up and you'll be royally screwed.
I speak from personal experience. In highschool, I pretty much pissed away my time in English and Chemistry, and had to retake them, thus being unable to take other courses I wanted. Also, retaking a course is boring. Likewise, I fucked up AGAIN except this time it's second year of university, I wasted $2500 in tuition (probably closer to $5000 because I might have to stay an extra year) and probably can't see my family in Europe this year or work an awesome summer job courtesy of my dad because I have to take summer school.
All this because I got in the habit of not giving a shit about anything until it was too late.
So, don't get into the habit now. D: Work really hard and do a good job!!!
ShineYes do this.
Also, shouldn't you be talking to a counselor or other school official about this? Although I am sure you trust this group of faceless tropers, it might be a good idea to speak with a professional at your school. See if you can get help from your Mathematics teacher or find a tutor.

So, I got an F in my geometry class right now, and I failed the first quarter too. How will this effect me down the road?
(I'm a Sophomore)
I also failed Algebra 1 last year, but I made up for it in Summer School, scoring an 87!! (Which was my highest score everz- I was so proud!!)
All my other classes are As and Bs, by the by.
