"You won't have to go far." Carlos assured Anarel. "In fact, the owner of the item will appear at this club shortly." He smiled. Angelica frowned. "So why not get it yourself... whatever it is?" Carlos sighed. "Alas, it's not that easy. You see, the owner of this club, my former employer has a necklace that's... quite important to me. It's made of black obsidian, shaped about like this." He said, holding his thumbs and index finger into a double cone.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Unfortunately, seniorita." Carlos said. "I do not think it will be quite so easy." He shrugged. "You see, the owner of this gem, she is a very fiery woman, and I doubt she'll give it away, well, voluntarily." Angelica smiled a little, she was guessing this meant a fight was coming up.
Liveblog | Deadblog"I would say I have, senorita" Carlos said. "This trinket contains a part of my Alma... my soul if you prefer, and I would very much like to have it back." Angelica raised an eyebrow, what sort of deal had this moron made for himself? Selling your whole soul was one thing, but one part? That was for the special brand of idiot who considered themselves smart.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Hmm.... From his non-chalant attitude I'd say he messed with his won soul." Laurel said. "More magic I typically avoid."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Messed? Me?" Carlos said, holding one hand to his chest. "I am wounded by such an insinuation. This is merely the result of a deal gone bad, an unscrupulous immortal and a beautiful woman, leaving poor Carlos en problemas, through minimal fault his own." Angelica smiled a little, it could technically be true, but she doubted it. "Right. Well, I'll buy that explanation."
Liveblog | DeadblogThe light in the club dimmed, as on cue from Anarel's question, and in a faster pace, the lights in the eastern side, around the stage lit up brighter, the hum of music and light equipment revving up. The people sitting, laying and doing... various other things on the stage reacted as if it had gotten white hot, bounding away before turning towards the stage, as if they were expecting something important to happen there. "She's arriving... right now, Senorita." Carlos said, nodding to the scene, as if there was any not looking at the stage right at that moment.
From a stage entry behind a pillar, stepped a tall, regal humanoid form, an angel. The red-haired angel was dressed in a tight red latex dress, and she clearly had used a lot of money on makeup that made no effort to pretend that it was natural. She strode with exaggeratedly swinging steps up to a microphone that slid up through a small hole in the front of the scene. "Hello darlings." She spoke, she was clearly making an effort to sound sexier, but it was also pretty clear she had plenty of experience in the matter. Around her neck, anyone who could look up enough could see a necklace with an obsidian gem.
Liveblog | DeadblogCarlos shrugged. "She is a fiery one, didn't fit too well up there, had nothing but hate for hell, so she's here." He said as the angel began singing, it was a strange song, somewhat unpredictable, but wild and beautiful, one would be hard-pressed to pinpoint actual words from it. "Well, that seems like fun." Angelica said, sizing up the situation, she didn't look too tough, and just snatching the necklace should be pretty easy for that matter.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Huh. Alright, let's get cracking then," Amitiel said simply. She pulled out her thompson's and aimed it at the roof.
"Amitiel... son of a bitch, don't fire it you-" Richard pushed his way towards her to keep her from raising the alarm. He didn't make it in time.
Amitiel fired her thompson.
"EVERYBODY DOWN, AND OUT! WE'VE GOT SOME SHIT TO TAKE CARE OF!" she yelled, before taking aim at the angel onstage.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Angelica frowned, this method was inelegant, but her plan had been to not upset the locals, and that might not have worked, she figured. "What the crazy lady said." She added. The angel had stopped singing, and was now tilting her head slightly, looking at the little group of people that didn't imediately take the better part of valor, crowding to exits, regular and emergency alike. Angelica waited for the majority of the miniature stampede to end before she addressed the angel. "So, Miss.... Uh, what do I call you?" The angel smiled, an amused grin. "You may call me Ila. Ilariel if you're a fan of old discarded titles."
Liveblog | DeadblogIla laughed, it was a musical sort of laugh that still had an uncanny ring to it. "I'm afraid I can't do that, Ana." She held the gem between two fingers, causing Carlos to visibly wince, whether it was a magical effect, or if it just freaked Carlos out, remained unknown. "Or rather, I don't want to. I stopped taking orders from the likes of you long ago." She flexed her wings a little, as to make it clear she knew she was still an angel.
Liveblog | Deadblog"It appears so... Keeping a human soul like a petty crossroads demon... It's quite obvious you stopped listening to what's right for a good while now!" Anarel said as she morphed Shifting Heart into twin blades. She then pointed one at the fallen angel and with a glare she said in a low menacing voice "Last chance... turn it over and you'll leave this place unharmed"
"I granted this human a Boon in exchange for something of his." Ila shrugged. "Somewhat similar to our crossroad-dwelling cousins, I suppose, but no matter." She let go of the microphone and stepped back a step, her hair starting to float out into a reddish halo of sort. "I'd be more concerned with your own survival." She snapped her fingers, causing several shambling forms with a passing resemblance to angels to appear on the dance floor, a small group of them also surrounding the team. If anything, they looked like somebody who had only heard of angels, and aerodynamics for that matter, stitched them together from human parts and clumsily crafted wings. "Deal with them, leave the knife-throwing Lothario if you can." Ila ordered with a wave of her hand. With robotic determination, the closest constructs stepped in on the group, long blades sticking out from their arms, the stiffness of their motion seemed to suggest the blade was fastened way past the wrist.

Carlos shrugged. "Keep in mind, ladies... and sir, that the information you are asking for will make me a very unpopular man with some very powerful men." He shrugged. "I love danger and beautiful women, and beautiful women who are dangerous, but there are limits to everything." He held up three fingers in a gesture to signify money or value. "It has to be a little something in it for Carlos, comprende? Something to take me through the troubling time that is to follow" Angelica sighed. "Ok, I get it, how much." Carlos laughed. "The question isn't how much, Seniorita, this information, it is priceless. No, I wish for you to retrieve a very special item, which I hold of similar value."
