Holy shit. Most of ae's EPs are as strong as their albums, so...

I'm sad they ignore We R Are Why, though. Also, no vinyl? Warp, I'm disappoint. And wish for $50 I could've spared and a credit card.

No lie! EP7 and Gantz Graf are some of the best things they've ever recorded, IMO

I was going to post this on Gateway Albums thread, but I guess here is more appropriate since my request is a bit more specific and lenghty. =X The thing is, I need some way to get into electronica, more exactly drum'n'bassy stuff.

I listened to Pendulum's Hold Your Colour and liked.. around half of it. I wasn't hooked on "mean" souding stuff like Slam and Fasten Your Seatbelt, but the more melodic material like Plasticworld and the title song hit the spot.

Also noteworthy is that my interest on the genre came from certain VGM that caught my attention; this, this (although not really electronic until 1:54) and even this come to mind.

So tropers.. Any recommendations for me?

Have I just single-handedly killed the thread with my interest?

[up][up][up] I'm into The Orb, albeit far less familiar than I would like to be with their work.

Boards of Canada are in studio.

I don't like them that much, but I know some people here will be ecstatic.

To be honest, I was pretty sure they were gone forever.

JHM: If you know what "Little Fluffy Clouds" is you already know the most important thing about The Orb.

I have listened to nothing but Burial and Crystal Castles for the past week.

[lol].

Crystal Castles are pretty good but I have to be in a certain mood.

Burial is utterly unimpressive to me.

Second Brian Eno album for Warp to be released July. Sounds... weird. But great.

It's so incredible (=awesome) that so many people here love Venetian Snares so much! In RL I know only one person (besides me) who does!

I also like

  • Brooklyn Bounce
  • Alec Empire
  • IAMX
  • Ratatat
  • Modeselektor
  • Messer Für Frau Müller or Messer Chups

(and some stuff that has already been named here often enough)

You add the genre because I'm bad with genres and I don't want to get it wrong...

I figured this was the best place to ask, does anyone here know of any bands that sound similar to this?
