I got a screenshot from Go Lion. Want me to upload it?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Blazing Saddles is probably the Most Triumphant Example, but it doesn't look like the moment is captured very well in stills
, unfortunately.

Yeah, I know, it's just that the examples list calls it the MTE. It's certainly one of the better-known examples, at any rate.
Oh, this one might work. I didn't find this image in my earlier search:
The best shot from Blazing Saddles is probably right up at the podium when he first takes out his gun.
"Alright. Nobody moves or the ****** gets it."
However, when I saw this topic, Blazing Saddles was the first thing that came to mind.

You're right, looking at the scene on YouTube
, I think an image from about 2:59 would be best. Unfortunately, that particular You Tube clip is pretty low-quality, and I can't find a good still.
This one
◊ is only mediocre, and this one's cropped too much
◊, so it's not immediately obvious that it's actually the sheriff's hand holding the gun.
Anyone have a handy copy of the movie on DVD for screen capture?

Jet-a-Reeno!I think the quote at the time was him saying "Stop or the [darkie] gets it." I forget the actual word he used was, but I think it was a slur of some kind.
Fight smart, not fair.I agree that with the other guns, it looks more like he's just being an idiot "Well everyone else is pointing a gun at me", which would be a funny way to illustrate "Following the herd", but not this trope.
I've seen the movie, by the way.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think some other frames near (very near, as in within 5 seconds) that one might work better, where his eyes are showing more and he looks more like "frightened hostage" or "hardened criminal."

Jet-a-Reeno!

Technically, the pic itself is okay, but it's so dark, you can hardly see the gun. I had to squint to see it was actually there. If we keep it (and again, there's no real reason, technically, why we can't), it really needs to be lighter so you can actually see the gun in the Doctor's hand.
