I'd watch the Love-matic Grampa and the The Simpson Family Smile-Time Variety Hour
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpI'd watch the Wiggum show, yes, but I'd prefer the crazy and goofy Professor Frink Mad Science show full of sci fi misadventures another episode proposed.
I would LOVE to watch Chief Wiggum Private Investigator, it could be an Affectionate Parody of Cop shows such as NPY Blue and Rush (the TV show)
In a heart beat. As an affectionate parody it really would have at least all the right tools. Or maybe not exactly like the segment, but the basic ideas could lead to a great new perspective on the world Springfields' in. Wiggs is a comedy goldmine I think, and they could always age Ralph just a tiny bit so they could do more with him too. His innocent quirkiness meeting headfirst more with all the messed up reality of adolescence.
Something with Frink would be awesome too though, or maybe Hank Scorpio.
They could also do a Mc Garnagle series.
"He gets results, you stupid chief!"
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Or maybe even just an episode, or 40 minute mini movie for DVD that's just nothing but a Mc Bain movie, that could make fun of just about every modern action movie stereotype out there. Or maybe do a knock off of the "oldschool action hero revival" trend going on now like with the Sly Stallone movies.
My friend and I once joked that a great idea could maybe be an young adult Ralph going to college, (somehow.), or maybe just graduating it, either way he has to deal with the insanity and harshness of adult reality, and he has to try to leave his loopy childishness behind but can't. It'd be potentially great since so many of this generations' college students/grads I think are in a similar boat, many of which were raised with this show. A Hank Scorpio one could deal with a lot of international satire as well which could open up a whole can of worms. There's really some great spinoff material to be found that doesn't involve the simpsons, it's too bad it's never really been taken advantage of and maybe it's too late now. (or not the time.)
Speaking of Mc Bain, those early clips were all from the same movie

This seems to have been bumped for no reason, but i'd watch Speedway Squad - In Color.

Pages Needing ImagesA Troy McClure movie was in the works shortly before Phil Hartman was murdered.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Also, has anyone made "Stop the Planet of the Apes, I Want to Get Off" for real yet?

That's (sort of) already happened. His name is Harry Knowles.

I recently re-watched "The Simpsons Spinoff Showcase" and, while the variety show and the Grandpa-in-a-love-testing-machine story seemed like they'd be genuinely painful to watch as full episodes, let alone as full series, the "gritty crime drama" starring Chief Wiggum actually seemed like it would make a great spinoff.
I mean, c'mon, Chief Wiggum becoming a Private Eye in New Orleans? Ralph living with him in a houseboat? Principal Skinner as his street-wise sidekick? A rivalry with an over-the-top cajun crimelord? This stuff is gold!
"Lucky for you this was just a warning gator. The next one won't be corked."
